Pokemon trainer portraits (slots currently full)

I'm Thundy and I make bad drawings

I draw a lot of pokemon and I draw a lot of people (citation: see my art thread) and I'm still trying to get good at both, so a fun way to practice (and give some art back to the community) would be to do this:

I will draw you or character as a pokemon trainer!

All I need from you is a few things:
-References of your character or forum persona, please help my brain's dulled imagination
-What kind of pose you'd like
-Pick your favorite pokemon (limit one per customer)
-Cool Color or Artsy Greyscale?
-And medium: pencil, ink, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, or digital (I gotta expand my repertoire)

Here's the tricky bit: I got a lot going on in my life with work, classes, and other art related commitments, so unfortunately it might take me a while to get all of these done. But don't worry, all will get finished eventually. After the end of May I'll have a boatload of free time, so I can catch up if I fall behind. Additionally I may contact you to barter you down to a less difficult medium (if everyone wants acrylic paints we'll be here forever)

I'm going to open 6 slots so I have a little room to breathe, but if more people than that want one I'll probably end up doing this again!

Hmm, I'm thinking... chillaxin' under the shade of a tree with a picnic lunch or something along those lines? The quieter moments of a Pokemon adventure.

Kappa the Mudkip seems like a fair choice as he was Zenzic's starter and has been there the longest. XD

Considering that we have plenty of Pokemon fans here, I wouldn't be surprised if your art requests fills up within a week.

I don't have a request in mind (mainly because I just can't choose one Pokemon), but I wish you the best of luck in this endeavour.

Here's a whole folder of references of her (the first image has her normal colors- the redhead version is her without hair dye and makeup, but not what she looks like on a regular basis)

Hmm, maybe something simple but confident, like arms crossed or on her hips.

I think it'd be neat to have Lycanroc with her, since it reminds me of Liz's actual companion, Bloody Mary >w>

Do you know, I never managed to get into Pokemon as much as I would've wanted to back in the day (read: no games or merch available in this fine country) so drawing was always my primary fandom outlet and this thread somehow speaks to my soul.

Genuinely can't think of anything :'D Whatever feels suitably awesome.

Rapidash. (Childhood dream by a very wide margin, in fact.)

Tentatively going to say watercolor, solely because it feels like the best fit for great big flamin' horses, but that's very much negotiable.

I'm also known for taking upwards of a year to get art requests done, so I'm not at all fussy about how long it takes :'D

=D I would love a portrait in your style. Can't think of a better thing to draw than the person who is basically the main character in the ongoing collaborative Pokemon fic that me and my friends write. Her name is Zlata Ebina. She's Ho-oh's guardian and basically his chosen, as well as an eventual immortal.

-References of your character or forum persona,
Old art is old but here you go. The necklace is supposed to resemble a pair of wings and a fanned tail. You don't have to draw the elaborate kimono patterns but do keep the sash pattern. Generally she wears red or gold coloured kimonos.
-What kind of pose you'd like
She is very polite and traditional so something calm and subdued to reflect that. Maybe a hand on the ho-oh, giving scratchies.
-Pick your favorite pokemon (limit one per customer)
A ho-oh, of course. Preferably one that looks cheerful and mischievous. I know it's a big pokemon so just the head will do if you're struggling.

Favorite pokemon: Absol.
Color/grey-scale: Color.
Medium: Digital, please.
And, of course, the reference. It's a commission I had done years ago, so do forgive the probably severely dated Bawls Energy joke. Colors are blond hair, red overshirt, black undershirt, and blue jeans.
