ThrrasirSummary so far:
(Written by the awesome Rabbit ♠ ) Virga and Doryen traveled to Alu Lyth's university to see a magic exhibition that was hosted there. While walking there, the two met Alyx, a human rogue, and Tandy, a gnome warlock. When everybody learned the magic exhibition was not going to be until later that night, they all decided to explore and to see what else the university was showing off.
As they were exploring, they met Raelin, a human who studies sea creatures; specifically, ones that have been growing very large. With Raelin, there was a giant octopus named Moe, whom everybody fawned over. Raelin also mentioned that there was a giant seahorse inside the school. Raelin was so excited to see the party, since she never saw a lizardfolk before or a “half orc druid”, since she thought Virga was a half orc as first because of her skin. Tandy shared that they also had a friend from “outside reality”, referring to their patron. Afterwards, the party met Meave, a half orc who was working on antivenom. Meave had giant bugs in tanks, which the party was also interested in. When the party was done, they got lunch and checked out the garden. There was a big fountain in the middle, and Alyx couldn't pass up the opportunity to sneakily grab some gold from it. Thankfully, she wasn't seen by anyone, not even the rest of the party. After the party ate, they met Fen, a half elf art student who painted the royal family and mentioned that Princess Odette had been missing.
When it was time for the magic exhibition, a halfling named Reed showed off a magical cube from the pre-cataclysm that was given to the school by the merfolk. While the cube was being shown off, during which it was exerting magical energy, a sea ooze took the magic cube and Reed into the canals with more sea oozes attacking the audience, including the party.
Once Alyx, Tandy, Doryen, and Virga fought the sea oozes, they met a kenku named Jingle and a cat that was following her. Jingle told everyone to make sure everybody at the university was okay while she hunted down Reed and the cube. Jingle and the party split and the party came across the bugs that Meave had. They escaped from their cages and were attacking others, including Meave who was poisoned. The cages and tanks were magitech, helping calm the giant animals down so they don’t escape or hurt anybody. The cube’s magic made them go haywire, letting the animals escape.
The four defeated the bugs, managing to put most of them back in their tanks, and gave Meave some antivenom. They helped Meave get back into the university when Fen came up to him. He was frazzled about all the chaos that had been happening. Virga did her best to calm her down before everyone heard screaming from the garden. Fen said the security system, which was the fountain in the garden, was likely going off and attacking others. Fen asked the party to distract the fountain while he went and got help.
While Tandy, Doryen, and Virga went to distract the fountain, Alyx ran off. Still, the three not only managed to distract the statue, but they managed to destroy the statue. Fen brought back a halfing, who was head of the university's security and both were shocked that they were able to destroy it. The halfling offered the party payment for helping the university out during the chaos. Virga tried to refused, but Tandy and Doryen were quick to argue in favor of getting paid.
Fen led Tandy, Doryen, and Virga back to where the magic exhibition was held to wait for Jingle. While they were there, the cat Jingle was with came up to everybody. The cat was wet and injured, but was desperately trying to tell the party something. The cat pulled at Virga's dress, coaxing her to follow. Virga was willing to follow and the others followed behind. Fen stayed behind in case Jingle came back.
The cat led the party down into Brandy Bay and down an alley. The cat passed out in an alley, leaving Tandy, Doryen, and Virga confused. After fiddling around in the alley, they managed to open up a secret door that led to a room. The three entered the room out of curiosity.
The room appeared empty at first, but a moon elf appeared and started acting hostile to the group. Once the group explained themselves, the moon elf calmed down and offered to to talk. The elf's name was Ingway and he was part of a guild of vigilantes. He explained the Jingle was part of the guild as well and the cat, Puca, was a familiar to the guild master, a powerful wizard.
While explaining, a human named Camden entered the safehouse with Alyx in his arms. The party explained they knew Alyx and caught her up. When the party asked Alyx why she had run off, she had to come clean about her fountain robbery. Afterwards, Camden left and the party took a break in the safehouse. As they were resting, Virga, Tandy, and Doryen felt dizzy. Camden came back inside and told everybody they had to check outside. Once outside, everybody saw the sky lighting up. Everybody concluded it was from the cube. Ingway told Alyx, Tandy, Doryen, and Virga to go in the direction of the cube, which was towards the great fountain square, as it was likely Jingle would be headed that way, and that a goblin named Michi would meet everybody on the way there.
On the way, they walked by a tinkerer's shop with a wood elf, a sun elf, and a human standing outside in a daze, being attacked by clockwork birds. After defeating the birds, they introduced themselves as Feysha Leafwind, Veely Firesong, and Tristan Harding of the city guard. The seven of them went inside the shop to see what happened in the tinker shop, as the city guard said it sounded like there was an explosion from inside. Once inside, Alyx found and promptly fell into the hole. Alyx was caught by Doryen’s Feather Fall and landed safely. Inside the hole was an unconscious rock gnome. Alyx woke up the gnome and helped him get out of the hole. The gnome, whose name is Sharzavaar Neelaleelay, explained that he was working on a magitech familiar when his work exploded, presumably when the cube went off. His power cell was missing. He said he fleetingly saw what looked to be a glob of water before he passed out. The party assumed it was a sea ooze, since they are attracted to magic.
The party left the shop, leaving the city guard to help Sharza to an infirmary and to investigate the tinker shop. While walking, the party crossed a bridge over one of the canals. As they were crossing over, tentacles came out of the water, hitting Alyx, Tandy, and Virga and dragging Virga underwater. It was Moe, the giant octopus who had escaped his tank when the cube went off. Virga managed to slip free of Mo and after a small fight, Moe fled.
After the fight, someone called out to them from the rooftops. The someone came down to the streets. She were a goblin. She was Michi, the goblin that was supposed to meet up with them. Michi was a cleric and had a medallion that was used to heal the party up after the fight.
The five of them walked to the great fountain square together. Doryen asked about the guild and Michi explained that the guild was a guild of misfits showing they’re worth something in society. Michi also said that Ingway and Camden are wererats and that she was in a relationship with Ingway.
Everybody arrived at the great fountain square. The spigot in the square was glowing. Alyx went to check it out when she was tackled. It was Jingle, who tackled Alyx to prevent a glob of something from hitting her head. Jingle was very injured. As everybody was talking, a giant sea ooze was taking form. This sea ooze was electric and sparking. Jingle ran to take cover while Michi, Virga, Alyx, Tandy, and Doryen fought the giant sea ooze.
This boss fight (mid level boss fight? Final boss fight? Not sure if we’re still on our first adventure still or the second) is what gave us enough experience to level up.
After the fight, Virga went up where the sea ooze was and saw there were scraps of metal and what appeared to be a power cell. The party then went to find Jingle. They found her slumped against a wall, still conscious but clearly in pain. Near her was Reed, the halfling who was taken by the sea ooze. He was unconscious and burned from sea ooze acid, but he was okay. There was still no cube, but both Reed and Jingle were okay. The party went to get Jingle and Reed some aid and went back to the safehouse for the night.
(Yep, all of that happened in one night.)
While sleeping, Tandy had a dream of their patron. After the patron dream, they awoke to being dropped into a tub of water to wash up. After they and the rest of the party were washed up, they had breakfast and talked with Ingway and Jingle, who was still injured but much better than she was last night. Ingway said that the guild was still looking for the cube and that he’d let them know if there were any updates on where it could be.
In the meantime, the party was left to do what they want. They first went back to the tinkerer’s shop to see if Sharza was there. He was there with a cast on his leg and cleaning up the shop. Virga returned the power cell and in return for helping Sharza out, he offered some of his experimental blueprints for sale. The party did not have the money, but promised to come back when they did.
The party then went to the school to get their pay. They went inside and met up with Fen, the halfing that was head of campus security, and a white dragonborn named Delmeerix deevdru Karif. Karif was blind, something that Virga did not notice at first and apologized greatly for when she learned. The party was paid and they told Karif that Moe was still in the canals. They also asked if they could see the giant seahorse Raelin mentioned, to which they said yes.
The halfling told Fen to lead everybody to the giant seahorse. Fen asked if the party found their friend, Jingle. He was happy hear that Jingle was okay and he said he waited for a long time before being dragged back inside. Once at the aquarium, Fen asked if the party wanted him to wait for them or to go back to work. The party collectively agreed to bring him along into the aquarium to give him a break.
There were a lot of tanks in the aquarium. Everybody went immediately for the giant tank with the giant seahorse. Raelin was in there as well, as well as a half orc working on the tank and a tiefling. Raelin was excited to see everybody and asked if they were there to see Buck, the giant seahorse. Raelin introduced the half orc, Kresh, and the tiefling, Igraine. Igraine thought Virga was really beautiful and started flirting with her. Unfortunately, these flirts went right over Virga’s head. Everybody else noticed what was happening, though. Kresh expressed some frustration about the tank because it was broken after what happened with the cube. The seahorse’s eyes were glowing as well, which does not happen when the tanks are active. (Moe’s eyes were glowing as well the night before, but only Doryen had the chance to see that.)
As everybody was talking, an arrow was shot into the tank, hitting Buck. The arrow had something on it, though it was hard to tell what. Everybody was (understandably) concerned. Fen, Raelin, Virga, Doryen, Alyx, and Tandy went up to the roof to see if there was anybody there. Nobody was up there, strangely enough, though a nasty storm was rolling in really quickly. Doryen created an illusion of a seahorse in Buck’s tank to distract him while Virga dove in to retrieve the arrow.
After further inspection, the arrow seemed to have a tube on it. Once on the surface, Virga showed it to everybody and checked the tube to see if there was anything on it. There was a paper written in Aquan on it, which only Doryen and Virga could read. (I’m just going to copy and paste the note, since I can’t explain it well.)
“We know you took the beast from us. We also felt the shiny go off last night, so we know the fish people hid it from us with you as well. Auntie is very upset. We know you haven’t found it yet. We’re finding it and taking it back now- stay out of our way if you want to live.”
This left everybody perplexed and scared. Who would the beast be? Buck? Moe? What was the shiny? The shiny was probably the cube. Who was this Auntie? Whoever sent this note was clearly angry.
Everybody went inside, but not before being pelted by extremely hard rain. As everybody was going inside, Tandy, who was the last to go inside, saw a figure of a large bird. Everybody talked about what just happened and Virga suggested that they talk to the guild about it, as they could probably help. Fen led everybody to the exit of the school, offering umbrellas to everybody.
As Alyx, Tandy, Doryen, and Virga were leaving, Doryen spotted two frog people with shortbows on top of a giant osprey, whose eyes were glowing. They looked like they were waiting to attack, so the party discussed what to do. Virga suggested pulling one off of the giant osprey with a thorn whip, which she then did.
Everybody then fought against each other. Doryen grabbed onto the frog person on the ground while everybody else tried to bring the osprey and other frog person down. The party accidentally killed the frog person that was still on the osprey (an eldritch blast knocked him out, but the osprey was aloft and he fell pretty far). Doryen picked up the frog person and began to take them into the school. Once inside, the osprey began to calm down and left the party alone. The frog person kicked Doryen and the face and managed to escape, running down the hallway of the school. The party was able to knock him out, though, before he got too far into the building.
Once inside, everybody was wondering what to do. There was an unconscious frog person inside and a dead one outside. As they were discussing, a student came across the scene, screamed, and ran off. The halfling came out and wondered what was going on. The party explained what happened, from the note to the frog people attacking, which did not make things less confusing. The halfling said these frog people were grungs, who weren’t even native to the continent. He also explained that they were poisonous to the touch, even though Doryen was fine.
The university didn’t have anywhere to put him, so the party ended up tying up the unconscious grung and locking him in a supply closet. You know, as you do. The party then went off to talk to the guild. They made it back to the safehouse in Brandy Bay. Ingway was the only one there. He said there wasn’t any news about the cube, but then the party explained everything that happened. There was a threatening note, two grungs and a giant osprey attacked the party, and one grung was currently tied up in a supply closet in the school. Ingway said that they should get their hands on the cube before the grungs do. Ingway said to talk to Camden, who was on patrol, because he might know something about the cube he wasn’t able to report back yet, and that he’d send somebody to tip off the city guard about the grungs.
The party went back out into the storm and were attacked by three more grungs; two on the street, one on the roof. These grungs managed to poison Doryen and Alyx during the fight, but everybody was able to defeat them. The poison began to wear off after the fight, though. The party was left with three unconscious grungs in the middle of the rain with Camden nowhere in sight.
And that is where we currently are.

Well, I figured now would be a good time to share my characters to give an idea of who I'm playing. AntherRace: High Elf (moon elf, to be specific) Class: Ranger (Hunter) Current Level: 3 Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Best Stat: Dexterity (14) Worst Stat: Constitution (6, because I had no idea what constitution was when making her character. Do not give your characters a low constitution, people. (I'll fix that soon enough.)) and Intelligence (also 6. She does not think much.) Preferred Weapon: Longbow VirgaRace: Water Genasi Class: Druid (no circle as of writing, but likely will be Circle of Land - Coast) Current Level: 1 Alignment: Neutral Good Best Stat: Wisdom (16) and Constitution (16) Worst Stat: Strength (10 - just an average strength) and Charisma (also 10 - endearingly awkward) Preferred Weapon: Does throwing fire from produce flame count?

Meet my characters! DahliaRace: Lightfoot Halfling Class: Cleric (Life Domain. Devoted to Caluxan, genderless God of Medicine) Current Level: 3 Alignment: Neutral Good Favorite Spell: Cure Wounds Backstory/Personality: Before setting out for adventure, Dahlia was a librarian living a rather sheltered life on a peaceful Halfling community. Unsurprisingly, she is a huge bookworm and very book smart, but very inexperienced as well. (Though beginner's luck seems to be on her side so far!) She's very sweet and friendly, and maybe a little naive and too quick to trust others. However, she can be fierce if you anger her or threaten anyone she loves, so watch out! AlyxRace: The Very Rare and Elusive Human Class: Rogue (Working on becoming an Arcane Trickster!) Current Level: 1 Alignment: True Neutral? Chaotic Neutral? Not sure... Preferred Weapon: Rapier (but wait until she gets magic!) Backstory/Personality: Alyx is a traveling merchant and adventurer. She had a rough childhood and grew up poor as part of a numerous family, having to learn the trade early to help make ends meet. She left her home as soon as she was old enough to do so, craving the freedom to do more in life than just survive day to day. She is independent, tough, and money-motivated, but she's also playful and she enjoys some mischief. Deep down, she's very caring, and she's always been secretly interested in magic.

Hi there. ^^ While we are still working on campaign summaries so far (there's a lot to cover), I did end up writing a sort of letter from Virga's point of view about the Thrrasir campaign so far. It's not too in depth and I'm pretty sure I mixed up the order of some events, but it gives an idea of what Alyx, Tandy, Doryen, and Virga have been doing. Dear Papa,
Traveling has been going really well. I have seen so many things and met so many nice people. I’m learning new things every day. However, Doryen and I had managed to find ourselves in a really interesting situation.
Doryen and I went to the university in Alu Lyth to see the magic exhibition. On the way there, we met a couple really nice people. One person’s name is Alyx. She’s a human merchant and she has a rapier and a shortbow. She was a bit standoffish at first, but she’s real nice and I think she’s warming up to us. The other is Tandy. They’re really cool. They’re a gnome and they have a friend from some cool place. My first thought is that the friend is from another plane, but I think Tandy said something about another reality. I’m not sure how it works, but it’s really cool. I have yet to meet their friend, but they sound really nice. Alyx and Tandy are interested in magic, too! Tandy said they’re a warlock and even though Alyx doesn’t have magic, she’s interested in learning about it.
Alyx, Doryen, Tandy, and I arrived at the magic exhibition area before it was time to start, so we walked around and looked at the other things the school had set up. We went to the animal stand and there was a giant octopus named Mo. He was so big, much bigger than Doryen! This nice human named Raelin was running the stand and was really happy to see us. She was so excited to see Doryen, since she never saw a lizardfolk in person before. Raelin also confused me for a half orc. I’ve been asked about my race before, but being confused for a half orc is new. When I told her I was a genasi, she seemed so amazed. She said she wasn’t sure if genasi were even real. I can’t blame her, really. I still have yet to meet another genasi on our travels. I’m sure I will at some point, though! Raelin was explaining that some sea animals have been growing really big and have been getting really aggressive. If you see anything like that at home, be careful! It was all okay, though, since he was in a special tank. The university also has a giant seahorse. It wasn’t outside like Mo was, but Raelin said that the seahorse is about as big as a regular horse.
After we said goodbye to Raelin, we went to the medicine exhibit. A half orc named Meave was running the stand. There were giant bugs in more special tanks. There was a giant wasp, a really long centipede, and a really big spider. Meave said they were growing big and aggressive, kind of like Mo. However, these bugs were from the mountains where the dwarves are. Meave is working on making something called antivenom from the insects’ venom. It’s really cool. She’s still working on it, though. Maybe someday, you’ll be getting antivenom for those who really need it back at home.
After that, we went to get some food and sat in the garden. The garden was amazing. There were so many pretty plants and flowers. I wish you could have seen them. I think you would really like them. There was also this really cool merfolk statue in the fountain. I really enjoyed myself there.
When we were done with our food, we went to see the art exhibit. There was the really nice half elf named Fen who was showing off his paintings of the royal family. He was awfully shy, but he was so nice. His paintings were really pretty, too. They looked just like the royal family. Maybe he’ll do paintings for them someday.
After we left, we went to get dessert. This elf was making crisps with a really cool self heating oil cart. There was no fire or anything like that. The oil just heated up on its own!
Around that time, it was time for the magic exhibition. This halfling named Reed was showing off this cube from the pre-cataclysm. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything that old before. Reed went on to talk about how the cube reacted to holy magic. He started to do something to the cube and the cube was doing things.
Suddenly, some sea oozes came up and took Reed and the cube away into the canals. More sea oozes were attacking the magic exhibition, including us. We managed to fight a couple. We’re all fine, thankfully. The sea oozes kind of burned a bit, but nothing too bad. After we were done that, we met this really nice kenku who was fighting the sea oozes as well. She said to call her Jingle, but I am working on pronouncing her real name. She was with a cat, too. Jingle said she and the cat were going to look for the cube and for Reed and that we should help around the campus.
The four of us went off and saw that the bugs at the medicine exhibit were outside of their tanks. Meave was bit by one of them and the bugs were attacking others. We helped get the wasp and the spider into their tanks, but Tandy exploded the centipede. After that, we went to help Meave, who had been poisoned. We were able to find some antivenom and we were able to save her. She was still really weak, though, so we helped her into the school to get her some aid.
While we were helping her in, Fen saw us and came up to us. He was extremely frazzled, but he was glad to see we were okay. After a bit of trying to calm him down, he explained that the cube was not supposed to be shown off. It’s really powerful and does all sorts of things like light up the sky. The cube is what caused a lot of the magitech in the campus to go crazy.
We heard some chaos in the garden. Fen said it was probably the security system in the garden. That merfolk statue I mentioned earlier is actually a security system that attacks intruders. Fen asked us to distract the statue so it didn’t hurt anybody while he got somebody to turn it off. Alyx ran off because she stole from the fountain earlier, but Tandy, Doryen, and I were not only able to turn it off, but we actually destroyed it. I didn’t mean for that to happen, but the halfling Fen brought back was really understanding about it. He said that there was too much going on to care about the statue, like that self heating oil cart catching on fire and Mo escaping. He said he’d even pay us for the help we did. I was just happy to help, but Doryen and Tandy both wanted to get paid.
Tandy, Doryen, Fen, and I walked back to where the magic exhibition was held. It was empty at that point. No sea oozes or anything like that. As we were talking, the cat Jingle was with came walking up to us. They were soaking wet and they looked hurt, but they were trying to tell us something. Fen stayed behind while the rest of us followed the cat and they led us off of the campus and into the city. The cat led us down this alley and passed out before showing us what they wanted to show us. After some time, though, we found this safehouse behind a wall in the alley. We figured this was what the cat meant to show us, so we went inside.
The room didn’t have any people in it at first, but then we saw this moon elf. He was really angry and he asked us why we were there and why the cat was hurt. Looking back, I can’t really blame him for being mad. We did sort of enter the safehouse and the cat was still passed out. We managed to calm him down and we talked everything out. His name is Ingway and he is part of this guild of vigilantes. Jingle’s a member of the vigilante group as well and the cat, who is named Puca, is the familiar of the guild master. According to Ingway, the guild master is a really powerful wizard. Isn’t that so cool?
Alyx joined up with us there after another guild member saw her outside. We talked and rested for a bit in the safehouse. I think we all had some nice bonding time there. After a while, though, some strange feeling washed over some of us. Tandy, Doryen, and I felt really weird and dizzy. One of Ingway’s guild members, Camden, came in and said there was something happening outside. We all went outside and the sky was lit up and there was some lightning. We figured that the cube that was taken was in that direction. Ingway also said that Jingle would probably be there as well if the cube was there. Ingway told us to head to the fountain square to check things out and that a goblin named Michi would join us on the way.
We all went running in that direction and we passed by a tinkerer’s shop. There were some clockwork birds singing and attacking these people who weren’t reacting. We went over to see what was wrong and the birds attacked us. These birds had a really weird song that did something with people’s heads. Doryen and Tandy said their singing was off in some way and the birds even put Alyx in a bit of a daze. Alyx snapped out of it really quickly, though, and we were able to defeat the birds. We checked to see if the other people were okay. They were fine, but they were scratched up. They were part of the city guard. The captain is a wood elf named Feysha Leafwind and with her was a human named Tristan Harding and a sun elf named Veely Firesong.
The city guard was at the tinkerer’s shop because there was an explosion. We went in to see if the tinkerer was in there, but he wasn’t. Alyx went to investigate some, but she fell into a hole. Doryen managed to catch her with Feather Fall, though. Alyx found the tinkerer in the hole and we helped him out. The tinkerer’s name is Sharza (I feel bad because I can’t spell his full name). Sharza explained that he was working on a magitech familiar when his work exploded. He also said at some point, he saw a sea ooze, which took his power cell.
Feysha, Tristan, and Veely stayed behind to help Sharza get to an infirmary and to investigate the shop further. Alyx, Doryen, Tandy, and I went off to look for that cube. While we were walking over a bridge, some tentacles popped out of the canal and hit us. One of the tentacles wrapped around me and dragged me underwater. I had mentioned that Mo had escaped earlier. We found him. Or he found us, as it seemed to be. I managed to get loose and I swam back to land no problem. The others were fighting him on the surface. After a bit, Mo swam off. We were all pretty beat up, but we were okay.
After the fight, we heard someone call to us from the rooftop. She climbed down and it turned out to be Michi. She’s really nice. She has this really cool pendant thing that healed us all up. Michi talked about the guild some more as we all looked for the cube. The guild brings in outcasts and misfits and gives them a sort of family. That’s real nice. While I never really felt like an outcast anywhere, I understand that feeling of not quite fitting in like the others. I like that this guild takes in those who don’t fit in anywhere and gives them a place to feel welcome. Also, Ingway and Camden are wererats. I think that’s really cool, but Ingway does not seem to be too proud of that. Also, Ingway and Michi are in a relationship. They’re a really cute couple.
When we were at the fountain square, the spigot to the fountain was glowing really weird. Alyx went to check it out, but then Jingle came up and tackled Alyx. It’s okay, though, since Jingle did it because these globs of ooze started to fly around everywhere and one was about to hit Alyx. Jingle was pretty badly beaten, but she was still on her feet at that point. At that point, the globs formed into this giant sea ooze that was sparking.
Jingle had to hide, since she was really hurt, but Michi helped us fight the sea ooze. Michi threw these really cool blasts of fire. It wasn’t quite like regular fire, but it looked like it. I have to ask her about that. That fight wasn’t really easy, since the sea was much bigger than any of us and it was sparking. It hit us pretty bad, but we managed to resist the lightning that sort of surrounded it.
As you can imagine, I did not want to get too close to it, since there was electricity flying around and it was so huge, so I had to rely on produce flame to throw fire at it. It didn’t really work too well, since it was a sea ooze, but one of the flames I threw was really interesting. I was getting really scared of this sea ooze at the time, since it was really big and like nothing I have ever seen. I threw another flame at it and it was much bigger than any of the ones I had ever threw before. Normally, these flames are small, but this one was actually pretty big. I think it was about as big as a campfire. I threw that at the giant sea ooze and it sort of exploded. I didn’t know I could do that with produce flame. It was kind of scary in the moment, but looking back on it, it was really cool and exciting.
Inside the giant sea ooze was a couple of gears and a small capsule like thing. I’m pretty sure it’s the power cell that was taken from Sharza. I’m glad it didn’t get lost. I still have it right now, but I hope I can get it back to him soon.
After the fight, we went into a building that Jingle was in. Jingle was slumped over, but still awake. With her was the halfling, Reed, who was awfully burned from what I assume was the sea ooze and unconscious. We helped them both to an infirmary. Afterwards, we were allowed to rest in the safehouse, since it was late and we all needed to turn in for the night.
In the morning, an orc lady dropped Tandy into a laundry basin full of soapy water to clean up. That was not something I expected to see first thing in the morning, but compared to what we saw last night, it was a welcome sight. Alyx, Doryen, Tandy, and I got all washed up and we ate breakfast. Ingway and Jingle were there as well. Jingle was looking a lot better, but she was still not in good shape.
Ingway and Jingle talked to us about last night and how we helped everyone out. They wrote a letter about us to their and sent it off. They said the guild master could potentially train us. Nothing is set in stone yet, of course, but the thought of being trained by a super powerful wizard is so exciting!
In the meantime, we’re still helping out the guild in Alu Lyth. The cube is still missing and we’re waiting to learn of the whereabouts of that. In the meantime, we’re going to hang around and help out where we can. Jingle also gave us a spellbook to learn some magic from.
I’m still getting stronger and getting better at magic every day. I’ve been practicing my magic whenever I can. I think I am finally at the point where I can transform into animals and recover some of my magic during the day. I have yet to really try these out, though. I only just started feeling ready to do them for real. If they work, they won’t be anything spectacular. Still, if I can wild shape correctly and if I can successfully recover magic during the day, those are really big steps and I look forward to trying them out. There are also things I’m not actively working on that seem to be improving. Like I mentioned earlier, I threw a really big flame at the giant sea ooze. It wasn’t intentional to make it that big, but I think it means I’m getting much stronger. I am on my way to becoming the second best druid in the world! (Second only to you, of course.)
I love you very much, Papa, and I miss you. I hope I can see you again soon. I would love to show you how strong I’ve gotten and to tell you more about all my new friends. Everything that we have been through cannot be expressed in a letter. Tell the village I said hello and watch out for giant, aggressive sea life.
With love,
Virga~
(The bit about transforming into animals and recovering magic during the day refers to Wild Shape (which is a level 2 druid trait) and Natural Recovery, which comes at level 2 if you go down the Circle of the Land druid subclass, which Virga is now doing.)
