A new Paint Brush color poll is out! Vote here!Mosaic Oil Painting Porcelain Figure Wicker - - - I like the idea of Oil Painting but wish it were executed a *bit* better...but I still rather like it. ^^ Though if it had the "paint" quality of Spring Finger Painting Background (with outlines that blended in more, at least around the head and thinner appendages, since the back of the legs look fine as is), I think I'd love it. :3 Aforementioned background: Otherwise Mosaic looks interesting (and would have fun potential for fanart using actual mosaic tiles, ha!). Makes me think of both a Rubik's Cube and stained glass, which might be a cool color too maybe, lol. Wicker has the most detail to it, but it doesn't quite look like a wicker basket to me...(too smooth and even-colored perhaps? I don't know what it is, haha.) Neither does Porcelain look like the material it's supposed to be, so it's my least favorite. Kinda split between Oil Painting and Mosaic, I think, but leaning more towards Oil Painting.

I'm deciding between the first two myself.

I do like oil painting; it'd work well with something like Soft Rain Background or Summer Landscape Background. Maybe touch up the face, though -- I liked the lines of it at first, and what I mainly noticed was how it followed the lines of the limbs, but the face is . . . less good.

Yay, brushes that can turn our pets into works of art! I was hesitating between Mosaic and Oil Painting. I do like the stained glass-like quality of Mosaic and especially the filigreed detail on the example, but, if they're clever enough about it, Oil Painting could be an opportunity to make references to various classic paintings or famous painters' styles! So that one got my vote.

I voted for Porcelain Figure - not so much because I like it as is (it looks like someone got carried away with the Burn brush :'D) but because I like it the most as an actual coat of paint for a pet. I'm generally a bit eh about all 'em ornamental-elemental sort of pets because they always end up feeling static to me, but I'd be down with white-blue pets with swirling flowers on them.
...in other words, I tend to gravitate towards pets who I could reasonably stick in my comics.
But that Oil Painting Gelert is 100% Edvard Munch's Scream, so odds are pretty good that they'd reference famous works of art with each pet. Odds are also good that it'll win the poll, going by the general feel on the neoboards.

I'm actually not too fond of the colours this time around, but Oil Painting seems to have the most potential.

I think out of the colors, the ones I can see potentially having the most variety of styles, is Porcelain or Oil paint. I like the oil paint but only because the scream is like, my favorite piece of artwork lol.

I personally went with oil painting. I really love oil paint styles in general, so I am a tad biased, but I really love the pattern. I like all the colors, though. I like how they're all sort of art medium inspired.
(Also, major props to the artist who sat through drawing wicker. I'm sure they did something to make the process easier on them, but no matter what they did I can imagine it took a lot of time.)

Admittedly, porcelain was the first that caught my eye, although I ultimately went with mosaic. Not really sure that was much logic behind my choice, but I think I ultimately decided that mosaic may have more chance of variety in color and design over porcelain. Although looking back, I'm still rather fond of that Scorchio x3

See, I'm so glad I read this before I voted. You guys are like my Neopets vetting system. I was going to go with Mosaic, but with the "famous paintings" comments, I think I may go with oil paining now.

Oil Painting is gorgeous, and I love the idea of using the color schemes of famous paintings. They could have just slapped on any set of colors, but to subtly reference well-known works of art like that is brilliant. Kudos to TNT!

Huh, Oil Painting won, with Mosaic being a runner up
