...wait, so... the plot ended with General Dacon barreling towards a bunch of soldiers with a flaming sword?
...I think we may be looking at the plotwriting equivalent of some poor unpaid intern dude having suddenly been told to wrap it up and they flailed desperately at the keyboard and eventually just set it on fire and ran out. I mean, I personally would've ended it with "and then a bunch of really cool stuff happened and everything was okay again, THE END" but we all know that I let a lot slide when you heap self-conscious humor on top of it.

I... I'm confused. What happened exactly? :S We hardly got to know any of the characters, Lyra included. She escaped, the thief Krawk stole her sword... but what else happened? I'm just left baffled by the suddenness of it all.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that. And there were really only what, two? Three? game type elements to it. And the "Keeping up" achievement? I had that as one of my "home pages" during the plot. And I still didn't get it. I really thought I caught most of the updates the day of, but apparently not. Seems silly to base one off of checking the day of when it rand for so long with the updates being almost completely random. Oh well. I'm probably just complaining because I dind't get it.

Can't help but think this is related to Jim Czulewicz replacing David Lord as CEO in at least some capacity. This isn't normal, even by JS standards.

Anyone else feel like this plot was a little...underwhelming? And was anyone else confused by the last update? I kind of was. So, Xendrik's blade has been returned to the captain of the Sakhmet guard, and now Qasala is invading Sahkmet (Though why Jazan would justify sending himself and his armies to the city walls, presumably knowing that such an act is likely to be considered an act of war, is beyond me.)
At least, that's what I got when I read it initially.
Well...bollocks...that's the one achievement I won't be able to get.

Wait, is that it? 2 games, no puzzles, and no BD section?
Or is this a fakeout like the first LD plot?

Can't help but think this is related to Jim Czulewicz replacing David Lord as CEO in at least some capacity. This isn't normal, even by JS standards. That's an interesting thought, considering I read he used to be the Chief Revenue Officer so he might have been more aware of the financial side of the plot. They've been pushing the fact that L&L ties into this so maybe he wanted to funnel people off the free site and into the gacha game?
Because you're right, it's not normal. It feels like they skipped at least three chapters between Lyra's escape and Dacon getting the sword. And there should have been a few more after Dacon got the sword. The little "the plot is over" tag wasn't there when they put the chapter up. TWR was strange at times with the characterization and the dialogue, but at least it told a complete story (in a vacuum at least; I'm not even going to try getting into how it impacted the rest of the site). I mean, maybe doctortomoe is right and this is a fakeout (I swear if this ends up as some stupid Canceled Due to Lack of Interest Day joke), but if it's not... this is giving me a weird feeling.

I was shocked too that the event ended so abruptly. Honestly, it's like "What just happened?" Maybe there will be an epilogue on Monday or something, but even then that doesn't change how disappointing this was. So many questions... where did Lyra end up? How did Dacon get the scimitar (I thought Aurrick took it)? What about the deal Aurrick made with the Ruki merchant? Who did he want to see? Man, and I thought the War of the Obelisk was left hanging!

You know, as much as I mock Atlas of the Ancients for its repetitive plot centered around characters with little purpose other than to be annoying, it at least had a coherent ending!

Man, and I thought the War of the Obelisk was left hanging! I know right? Except the War of the Obelisk plot was, for some reason by TNT, intentionally left on a cliffhanger. (Though, didn't the Sway end up winning the war? If so, why did they just throw it aside and just say, "Forget it, let's make it a never-ending skirmish"?) I didn't really like this plot to be honest. The story and characters were not as well written as they should have been and its abrupt ending doesn't help especially. The setting had potential but was poorly utilized and utterly wasted. To make matters worse, the art just felt very lazy at times. Especially with part 13. They didn't even seem to make any other art assets for Xendrik, just that one generic standing pose.
As much as many of us are hoping, I strongly doubt it. Besides, TNT only pulled that on us once, and that was years ago. I really don't think the new TNT would try a fakeout. I could be wrong, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.
If only the original TNT were still around, I could only imagine how they would have handled this plot.

They didn't even bring in the Handsome Horus from the prize shop preview. It seriously comes across as just giving up with things half-written. I mean . . . I've had stories go like that for me, but I have depression, and I don't post half-finished things that'll let people down these days. That's not really an excuse for cases where, y'know, there's more than one person working on it and they're presumably being paid to write it.

I don't think they gave up on it -- I think, on some level, they think all this makes sense. Which is possibly worse.

I am generally NOT one to criticize TNT because I know that with anything, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that no one quite understands. I mean... come on. I work in government. I'm used to attempting to explain things that don't make a whole lot of sense. But this just comes across as sloppy. Even if there is a reason behind it, don't make it sloppy. Post the explanation FIRST, then the final piece. "Hey guys. We're sorry, but we're having to wrap up this plot more quickly than we intended to due to [insert vague reason like "management decisions"]. Just wanted to give you a heads up in case there's some confusion regarding the ending we'll be posting soon." I mean, at least then we'd be like "Okay. Still doesn't make sense, but I guess they had to." I mean, what I just posted isn't a great example, but I think you get what I'm saying.

Agreed -- if they framed it like this, give us an apology and assure us an attempt at a resolution is forthcoming, I might not be happy, but I'd get it. As is . . .

With the . . . epilogue-ish thing, I have to say:
