There's an update (more story) to this event. Also, it looks like the prize shop is out, but you cannot redeem for prizes at this point, just view the available prizes. There's also an update to the Lost Desert Map, although we cannot do anything yet.

Kudos to JS for showing us the prize shop early. Should cut down on complaints and allow people to make a more informed decision as to whether and how much they want to participate.
I want that background, but the stamp will probably bring in more cash... I'll probably stock up on a few of those if I can. |

Okay, MAJOR kudos to TNT for this Prize Preview idea! Want to get people excited for an event/plot? Give them a preview of what items will be available to them! I love they also included the descriptions of the items (which are well done and a few either funny to read or give some character trivia, extra bonus!) and included the wearable preview. Also they did a nice job with the selection as none spoil anything. I don't think they'd need to add any more, what they have is enough to get everyone excited! Also, all these prizes look great! The new artists finally are getting into the Neopets groove, and hopefully this would mean more original art and less stock art reuse (yes, yes, there is some stock art here but the way they used it is alright, the items that needed original art got original art like the books, plushies, and wearables). Going into some specifics " Dates & Figs Energy Bar", "Desert Explorer Kit", "Little Bag of Bulgur", & "Wind-Up Soldier": The cheap 1/5/10/25 point items. While nothing impressive, this could hint there may be more prizes (they just showing the ones which wouldn't cause spoilers). "10 Things to Do in Sakhmet" & "The Complete History of Qasala and Sakhmet": While I know they're no longer valued as they once were (hey, just like in real life!), I always like books just for the idea they present. What are the 10 things to do in Sakhmet? And I think we all would need to read the book to fully understand how the tension between the two kingdoms got so bad. "Lyra Plushie" & "Aurrick Plushie": So cute! "The Ruins of Thanyros Stamp": Oh, now we're talking! You want to get players attention for a event or plot, mention a Stamp is being given out.  "Handsome Horus": Wish they did more with the Horus besides giving it a gold jewel color. Or at least flip it around. Though it's apparently Lyra and, come on Lyra, you don't think a Petpet that can fly would be helpful? "Sailing into the Sunset": Ooh, pretty! Okay, there looks to be some spoilers as it mentions Lyra is sailing away, though I think we all kind of assumed they would make it to Qasala and unless you take the bridge which is probably guarded you got to sail across. "Desert Crossbow" & "Xendrik Scimitar": Alright, you can keep your stamps, these are what I wanted! Now I imagine Desert Crossbow might not be that strong, a mid tier weapon that'll cost a relatively minor amount of point. But Xendrik Sword is where the fun begins, probably being the top prize. Let's see, it's a sword so probably just going to be all offense but I can only imagine the icon combination it'll have. After thinking about it, what would be neat if it was a Ghostkersword copy but instead of Air it did Fire and instead of Dark it did Light. But I also have some confusion, especially with the release of the next part: 1. So Chapter 1 had two pages but Chapter 2 and 3 have one? Also, this all feels like it's Chapter 1, they haven't even left Sakhmet's walls. I would have thought Chapter 2 would start with them having escaped Sakhmet and heading toward their next destination. 2. Climbing the wall would have made for a pretty good puzzle step. I could see it being a maze where you have to click the holes in the wall to have Lyra climb up but some holes either are too loose or not deep enough and you have to figure out the right path. It would have been pretty simple to do. Considering we're shown there's going to be a wide selection of prizes, I'm surprised there hasn't been a plot step yet. |

I'm enjoying it so far.  I mean, last plot, there wasn't much of a story until it got explained away in the end, so now they seem to be trying to give us more story. I'm sure there will be plot steps and stuff to do soon. I wonder who the crook will be? Seems like Dacon has someone in mind already. ...Is it going to be Aurrick, who's already been established as a thief? (I suppose that could be a way to connect the two strands together, but I want to see what Lyra intends to do with the sword first. But if that's where they take this, does that mean Aurrick is that well-known a thief?) Or will it be someone previously established from Neo lore? Or another new character?  Also...Poor Amira.  I'm glad she still has some loyal guards close to her. |

I don't need much as far as puzzles or battles or participation. If this plot is 95% story, I'm fine with that. As long as I can somehow say I was there.
