After a lot of frustration, a bit of crying and definitely more than a little nervousness, as of today, I am officially qualified to drive. \o/ I did my test today for the second time and only got three minor faults (out of an allowed 15) so now, I can drive.
I don't know what I'm going to do with this newfound freedom. Aside from be so happy to finally get it over and done with. Learning to drive has been a frustrating slog of over a year (started in August 2017) and I am so happy it's done. Plus now I can save so much money.
I'm so excited. This has been a long time coming. I still can't believe I can go out onto the road with nobody in the car with me.
...that's also a little bit scary. But I don't care. \o/ Driving license, whoo!!

Congratulations!!! That's a huge relief to have all that frustration behind you, and so exciting to have so much freedom ahead of you! Here's to going where you want and saving so much money, awesome!! Actually, I'm only just starting to look at starting this myself, as I currently have about no freedom at all without a car and I'm nervous about it too, but it seems necessary. I haven't taken the permit test yet because I feel like the driving rules keep going over my head when I don't see them in practical application OTL. Just gotta keep reading the manual and practicing with the online tests, I guess.

Congratulations!! I'm going to be testing for my permit next week hopefully, so I hope I can share similar good news in a couple of weeks. I imagine it's a huge relief for you as it will be for me. Celebratory hugs! (assuming you like hugs; if not, celebratory air hugs)

Thank you everyone for all your congratulations and well-wishes. =D I am still hyped about this. I did want to take the time to reply to a few of you. Ahh, congratulations Celes, that’s really exciting!! =D I can definitely imagine after that much time and effort, it must feel really nice, which you’ve completely earned! Here’s to your newfound driving freedom! Thank you!! It is absolutely exhilarating to think that I no longer have to deal with the frustration and am now free to do with a car as I please. Of course I need a car but...one step at a time. \o/ Congratulations. Enjoy it while you still can. *ominous music for no reason* Thank you...but you're not a cop, are you, Moni? =O UK NTWF road trip when? Many congrats Celes! Either when I get a car or in a year when I can rent a car. 8D We'll make this happen. Indeed. =D There are no downsides. I am so happy to no longer deal with the frustration, anxiety and financial woes of being a learner. You're in the Netherlands, right? I don't know what exactly it is like over there but it sounds similar to the UK (I did a theory a year ago and this was my practical on Thursday). With the theory, I found it much like any other exam: rote memorisation. Once you're on the road and studying to drive, you will relearn those rules all over again, just properly this time with practical application. It is a very good skill to have even if you don't have a car, for the purposes of a CV and in case you do acquire a car. Congratulations!! I'm going to be testing for my permit next week hopefully, so I hope I can share similar good news in a couple of weeks. I imagine it's a huge relief for you as it will be for me. Celebratory hugs! (assuming you like hugs; if not, celebratory air hugs) Good luck! It is nerve wracking to do the test itself but it is a huge relief once it's over and done with and you pass. And even if you don't pass, not the end of the world. This was my second time doing it. Hugs are good. *hugs*
