Steampunk Bori:The clothing looks awesome! Though the base is only a shade lighter than Shadow (plus a metal bit that's part of its forehead). Has a sort of a Star War's Tusken Raider vibe to it. Sinister Bori:Looks like it's a mixture of both the Bughuul (main antagonist of the Sinister movies) and Freddy Kruger (main antagonist from Nightmare on Elm Street). That's actually creative. In addition to that you can probably use the clothing normally without the mask (just hope people can overlook the undershirt if Freddy's striped shirt). So both a nice Halloween costume with practical use.

Both masks seem kinda off to me, but the rest is rather nice.

Thing is, I'm kind of conflicted on the new Steampunk color. I mean, the design looks cool and all, and I like that it implies the inside is all gear and clockwork.
The issue is though, unless it is in fact revealed that the interior is all gears and clockwork, part of me really feels it could also make perfect sense as a whole new clothing set, rather than a paint color.

Sadly it's not that interesting underneath the clothes.

Ah, that unfortunately proves my suspicions...I'm a little disappointed they didn't go the extra mile to make the pets all gears and metal plated.
Now I really feel they should have made it a whole new clothing set, since it doesn't change the pet biologically (or organically?) like Robot, Dimensional, Wraith, Candy, Biscuit, etc.

Yeah, wish the base color was a bit more unique (I would make it more a rusty orange-red or a bronze). Otherwise it's just an expensive clothing set. Sadly a lot of Colours fall into this category, mainly the older ones made before customization. I suppose one argument for it being a Colour is that it at least guarantees several Neopets will get steampunk clothes that are also unique for each species.

True, but my guess as to why they decided to go with a Color, is that at least not making it as a clothing item means they don't have to make over 50 different designs for most if not all of the Neopets species, since Colors are rarely available for every species (at least for the newer colors, the average is about 30-35 species, sometimes it even stops at half that many).
Though, it still sounds like it would take just as much work to put together either way.
