Session 71: ReunionKey Notes:*Khamet claims Malka's greatsword Conquest, as a gift to send home to Cepith.
*Amani learns that the scar from their death wound cannot be fully healed.
*The party plan to ship the two undead, Al and Silverbeard, to Lustross.
*Wisp returns, with the aid of Will.
*Meallan makes clear his intention to leave the party.
Recap Proper:Naila is horrified to learn that Amani recently died, but she tries to focus on what is important at present: getting Amani to a temple so a priest can look at their awful scar. She insists that Amani cease adventuring with their friends and find a purpose in Cai Shaan with her, but Amani is intent on going to Evertemple to get help for the injured Ruhnzolarr. Naila relents for now, but says that Amani should stay with her when they return.
Naila also agrees to find someone who can trade her a revivify-worthy diamond for 300gp worth of Amani's dragon gem, as Amani wants to replace the diamond Khamet used on them.
When they arrive at the temple, they are met by Basirial. The high priest examines Amani’s scar. He concludes that while he can do something to reduce the pain, he can’t alter its appearance. While Basirial treats Amani, Khamet arrives and speaks with an unfamiliar acolyte. He wants to find out if the piece of Malka tentacle he salvaged will be safe to mail back to a friend in his homeland. The acolyte is clearly offput, but directs him to speak with Basirial, who may know more.
Basirial thinks that sending the tentacle would be a bad idea.
The Everqueen also thinks it is a bad idea. It seems to have some kind of transformative property.
Khamet opts to ask Aviina, just to be sure. When Aviina also reacts poorly to the suggestion, Khamet decides to send Malka's greatsword home as a souvenir instead. Fortunately, Damira is willing to use her contacts to help him out and get it shipped!
At around the same time, Tally is making his way to the Trade Offices in search of Usavias. This time, instead of Tally going up to their office, Usavias comes to meet him in the foyer. Pronouns are exchanged as usual, and Tally indicates that they would like they/them. Usavias invites Tally to walk with them, and the pair proceed to a little garden just around the corner.
Tally gives Usavias one of the flutterrat plushes they bought in Lustross- one with little sequins, reminiscent of Usavias’ sparklier presentations. The older elf seems touched- they admit that it is their birthday, and that while this stops meaning as much after so many years, the timing of this gift now feels special to them. They also confess that they’ve had a tough time in general, and vent to Tally about various problems big and small.
Before they part ways, Usavias asks Tally about their relationship with Kiastra. Satisfied that there is no distasteful ulterior motive here, they return to the Trade Offices while Tally heads back towards the ruined Party House and the sad cluster of people on its shore.
Meanwhile Meallan is wandering hopelessly, uncertain what to do now Malka (and Wisp) are gone. He receives a telepathic message from Will, who tells the firbolg that he is going to appear before him and that he shouldn’t panic. Will claims to have determined what the silver aura around Meallan is. True to his word, Will appears in his familiar half-elven form. He takes Meallan’s hands and concentrates for a few moments.
The silver aura is drawn from Meallan and coalesces into a ball of silvery light. Saying that he will give them some time to catch up, the incubus then vanishes.
The light identifies itself as Wisp. Meallan is dumbfounded- how can this be? Wisp is equally uncertain, but he is glad that his actions helped the party destroy the archfiend Koach.
As Meallan heads back towards the Party House, he encounters Tally returning from the Trade Offices. As they reunite with Wisp, Meallan confesses that he plans to leave Eaine for Varentar. Wisp is overwhelmed and says that he needs time to think about whether he will travel with Meallan or stay in Eaine.
The party reunite on the beach in front of the ruined Party House, along with Naila, who accompanied Amani for a walk along the shore. The two undead are also still present, with the party making plans to ship them off to a museum in Lustross. Wisp introduces himself to Yeet, while Khamet takes the opportunity to examine Wisp with his divine sense. Wisp is no longer a fiend, and nor is he quite a celestial; neither consecrated nor desecrated- he is something that seems connected enough with these concepts to register under divine sense, but none of them specifically. He is something entirely new.
Wisp is as surprised by this as anyone. He doesn’t know what he is, but says that he still feels like himself. He could feel that his contract with Meallan was no longer binding, and so he could speak with him without fear, but didn’t understand the implications until Khamet addressed them so directly.
Meallan informs the party that he will leave for Varentar, to reunite with his friend Aquilian and seek a way to atone for his past crimes. Wisp decides that he will travel with him- perhaps in a nation of so many wizards, they can discover what Wisp is as well. It is the 9th of Iron 15003, and it is time for Meallan and the party to part ways.

Session 72: Names Learned!Selwyn (he/him): small centaur druid the party encountered in Evertemple. Celes' player character for the foreseeable future. Caretaker of the Prime Garden, Zandrilos (he/him): Amani's shadow sorcerer granddad, apparently living in Na Cuvae. Harold (he/him): a human friend of Gale's. Gaveet (he/him): goblin living at Evertemple. Has oversized spectacles. Vale (he/him): a tall, pale, dark-haired man who wears a trench coat in all weathers. He doesn't say a lot, which may be in part due to the forked tongue and hissing tone that gives him away as a yuan-ti.

Session 72: EvertempleKey Notes:*Khamet arranges to have Al shipped to Akhetra (along with Malka's sword, Conquest) and Silverbeard shipped to Lustross. *Khamet finds out that Vale is a yuan-ti. *The party visit Evertemple. *The party meet Selwyn. *The party find out that Ruhnny can only be permanently cured if they put an end to The Corruption. *Amani finds out their grandfather is still alive, as well as his current location. *Yeet meets a venerable goblin elder, Gaveet. *The party accept a quest to gather greendrop flowers for Evertemple. Recap Proper:It is late morning on the 9th of Iron. While the party have already decided to send Silverbeard to Lustross to be displayed in a museum, Khamet has other plans for Alvaesenzos the elven deathlock. He suggests that Al would be viewed as a curiosity in his homeland of Arentium (a sentiment with which the mute deathlock wholeheartedly agrees.) Furthermore, Khamet tells Al all about Akhetra and its more positive perspective on undead. He asks if Al would like to be sent there instead. Al is in favour of the offer- he would like to be able to live his own life again.
Silverbeard protests their unequal treatment, but this falls on deaf ears.
In order to ship zombies, however, the party shall need a ship. Khamet and Yeet visit the harbormaster Vadonia to arrange passage for Silverbeard, while planning to use Damira and her contacts to transport Al. Vadonia is overcome with excitement at being in the presence of such notable local figures, but eventually the pair manage to turn the topic to the undead dwarven king and their desire to mail him to the current ruler of his homeland, so that he may be educationally displayed in a museum.
Vadonia is not comfortable agreeing to this proposition alone. He agrees to send Silverbeard to Lustross if either Lyrelle, Usavias or Lysanthos will sign off on the request. He also agrees to write a letter to Runaka explaining why her distant relative is being shipped to her, and Khamet writes a second letter explaining the same.
Khamet returns to the party and informs them of what he has learned. He rules out Lyrelle, whose daughter is a priestess of Vinistra; which leaves Lysanthos and Usavias. Tally, who is on the best terms with Usavias, reluctantly agrees to seek them out for the second time that day.
It is early afternoon by the time Tally arrives at the trade offices, notes in hand. Usavias seems exasperated and grumpy when asked to help ship a zombie, but still agrees to do so. When Tally says they seem like they don’t want to do this, Usavias insists that it’s fine. This is just their general manner.
A little later, with Hatar at his side, Khamet goes to the Chipper Chipmunk to see if Will knows where Damira is. He brings with him ingredients for her favourite strawberry pastry! As soon as he enters the cosy little cafe, Khamet becomes aware of a familiar presence: Gale is in a back corner talking animatedly with a few friends. Gale is excited to see Khamet, but encourages him to go and get his ‘cookie’ from Will. Gale repeatedly says ‘cookie’ as though it is a euphemism for something, and giggles when Khamet approaches Will.
Will confirms that, yes, Gale subscribes to the popular rumour that he and Khamet are together. Khamet seems less concerned about this than Will.
After they bake the pastry together, Khamet finally asks after Damira. Will doesn’t know where she is, but directs his friend to a little garden down the street, where Vale is waiting. Vale, he notes, will definitely know where Damira is. Khamet greets the pale young man cheerfully, and ever more animatedly once he realises he is a yuan-ti. Unlike Damira, Vale has a forked tongue and hisses a little when he speaks. There also seems to be something odd about his arms, concealed though they are under a heavy coat.
As Vale leads the paladin to Damira, Khamet reads him one of his Mankarah stories: the one where Mafaru helps another yuan-ti named Serpentio adjust to life outside their society. Upon reaching Damira, Khamet explains the situation with Al. She confirms she can send him with the same contact who is transporting the sword. She will send someone to collect Al from the harbormaster’s house later that day.
Vadonia is reluctant to let the zombie stay in his house, but a 5gp bribe quickly changes his mind.
As Amani prepares to teleport the party into Evertemple, they ask for their book back from Khamet. He is very insistent that he did not read it, nope, not at all. Tyzol informs Anthony that she is going to stay behind in Shaan and continue working as a lumberjack, to try and make some money they can put towards a new Party House...eventually.
Amani completes the runes on their teleportation circle, which lights up at once. They use their telekinesis to float Ruhnzolarr through the portal in their wooden tub filled with water. The party (and the tourists they are teleporting) find themselves in a small tiled room just outside Evertemple. They all bundle out of the room and approach the city gates.
The guards swiftly let the party by when they see their injured friend. The group enters a city paved with beautiful white stone. The atmosphere here is quiet, almost reverent. Amani attracts a few curious glances from the few people out in the street, but Khamet distracts from them by being his usual boisterous self.
The guard leads the party to the Everlight, the head priestess of Evertemple. She is deep in conversation with an unfamiliar figure- a centaur, but smaller by far than any the party have seen before. The party explain the situation, with Anthony letting her know that Ruhnzolarr is actually a dragon. The Everlight agrees to help at once.
The Everlight asks for aid in carrying Ruhnny’s tub. Selwyn and Khamet help her carry it to the city’s main temple. They place the tub near a sort of altar and the Everlight gets to work trying to heal the diseased dragon. She manages to cleanse the corruption from Ruhnzolarr's body for the time being, but says that it will return in a matter of weeks if they do not destroy the creature who inflicted the mystical wound. Selwyn offers to accompany the party, as he has some healing magic himself and doesn’t want them ending up like Ruhnzolarr.
Amani approaches the Everlight as she stands alone, and asks her whether she is uncomfortable with them being here in the city. She says that no, she is not. Amani did not bring a fiend with them, after all, or threaten her fellow clergy as did Meallan. She seems sincere, if perhaps a little guilty about something.
Amani asks if they can do something for Evertemple to help make up for what happened. The Everlight mentions that there is a type of flower called greendrop, that is used in many medicines here in Evertemple. It grows in the hills near the city, and some livestock has gone missing in the area recently so some of the priests are more reluctant to head out there than usual. But surely that won’t prove a problem for adventurers of this party's calibre?
The longer the party spend in the temple, the more restless Istosol seems. He asks if they can go and find his brother. Khamet leads he and Tally to the kitchens, where Ovinrei is working on peeling carrots. Upon realising this is truly Volan, back from the dead, Ovinrei hugs his friend and says that he will soon return with Vaan.
Vaan is not confident this is actually his brother. However, when Volan shares a memory from when Vaan was young and Volan was trying to take care of him, the younger elf realises it can be nobody else. The brothers break down, clinging to each other and violently sobbing. Ovinrei accepts a flutterrat from Tally on Volan’s behalf, and gently ushers Volan and Vaan towards the dormitory.
Anthony decides to shop for souvenirs for his beloved Tyzol. Ruhnzolarr, delighted to be feeling like herself again, accompanies him. They find a classic dinky little souvenir shop, and Ruhnny asks if the soaps are edible. When Anthony says that eating soap is not the best idea, Ruhnny instead bites into some fancy chocolates. With the displeased shopkeeper looking on, Anthony is forced to pay for them, as well as some soap and fancy chocolates for Tyzol. He also buys Tyzol a replica of the Dawnweaver, a holy relic of the Everqueen in the form of a circlet.
Yeet is nervous about the prospect of meeting Gaveet, a retired former teacher from whom she hopes to learn more of the dances by which goblins pass down the knowledge of their own histories. She asks Selwyn, who has been in the city a few days, if he has seen a goblin around. It turns out that he has indeed noticed a goblin, who seems to spend most of his time in the library or training outside. Yeet asks Selwyn to accompany her for moral support, as she sets off to meet with Gaveet.
They find him in the library, poring over a weighty tome. Gaveet is only too happy to meet the timid young goblin, clasping her hands tightly and promising to teach her some more dances. They head outside together to begin their training, with Yeet pausing to assure Selwyn that she will be fine from here on. The centaur then returns to the others.
Amani finds a quiet space to commune with the Everqueen. After taking a few moments to understand that she is here for them, and she is listening, they decide to ask her some questions about their grandfather. That is, the elven grandfather who was banished from Varentar after having injured his child Asariel with his shadow sorcery.
She confirms that their grandfather is alive. He is currently living in Na Cuvae as “Caretaker of the Prime Garden, Zandrilos.” Amani isn’t sure what to do with this information yet, but they thank the Everqueen and file it away.
Tally also has some questions for the Everqueen. They ask her what it felt like to create the elves. They are hit with feelings of love, duty and direction. When Tally asks how she feels when she knows that elves are suffering; these turn to feelings of anguish, regret, and a lamentation that she can do little about it. Finally, Tally asks the Everqueen for advice on parenting. They receive no response.
It seems they may need a more mortal perspective on this topic. Tally seeks out Amani, and tells them that when they approached Usavias early that morning, they asked the older elf how they knew they were ready to be a parent. Tally knows they want to be one themself one day, but that they don’t want to be perceived as a mother. Amani assures them that they can be a parent without this being the case. They also believe that if Tally were hypothetically to have a child right now, they would be the least likely of the party to screw it up. Tally says that as a professional child, Amani’s opinion holds a lot of weight here!
When the party regroup that evening, Amani tells them that they are setting out the next morning to acquire some medicinal flowers for Evertemple. The party agree to accompany them.
Tally takes Yzzy aside for a moment alone. They admit that they really want to go home. Yzzy says that she was planning to return to their village the following morning, but that she can wait for Tally to return from gathering flowers for the temple-city. If Tally still wishes, they can then return home with Yzzy. She suggests that it might be nice for them to have a break from adventuring for a time.
Khamet seeks out Amani and confesses that he read their journal. He says that he can’t believe they don’t like candyfloss!!! The pair of them thus have a coded conversation about Amani's reliance on Night's Peace, and how it is okay to try new things more than once if you don't enjoy them. Amani isn't sure if the archfey can overhear this conversation, but they really don't want her picking up on their attempt to work on themself beyond her.
Later when they are alone, Amani tentatively tests their connection with Night’s Peace. She feels more distant now, and they are unable to read her emotions. It is as though someone is reaching out to them over a great distance. Amani has not focussed on their bond or reached for Night’s Peace since their resurrection, and nor do they do so now.
The next morning, as the party set out in search of greendrop flowers, Yeet meets with them to say goodbye. Hugs are exchanged, and Khamet tells Yeet one of his new Mankarah stories! It is about Speedy the goblin, and a teenage elf called Kyle. Kyle is the child of an overprotective lord but, when they meet Speedy, they get to go on adventures and broaden their horizons!
It is the 10th of Iron 15003, as the party farewell Yeet and set out for their first adventure with Selwyn.

I was curious how Meallan leaving would change things, particularly what Celestial would do. A new character is just the answer! Hello Selwyn! This has been the plan for a while once I realised that Meallan would have to untangle himself from Malka. At that point, I would not be able to play him as a viable warlock, and began to make plans for afterwards. Selwyn's character concept dates from 2019. xD At least that's when his art is dated.

Hey folks!
Last session took place evening on the 10th of Iron. The group decided on a short timeskip of about a week. Next session will pick up on the morning of the 19th of Iron. This gives Tally enough time to get to their destination, spend time there, and return. It also gives the rest of the party time to research the Corruption, the Deceiver (the fiend who currently has the god-forger), or whatever else they may wish to get up to in the interim!
The next session will be held on the 30th of April, and Rabbit will be joining us for it. If anyone has anything they wish to cover with me in the time between sessions (related to research, roleplay or what have you), flick me a message either over discord or on this here forum. And see you all for our next session in a couple weeks! =D

Session 73: Of Light and NightKey Notes:*The party fight the mutated dragonoid humans.
*Night's Peace appears to the party in a panic.
*The party retrieve the greendrop flowers.
*Tally heads elsewhere while the majority of the party return to Cai Shaan. Recap Proper:Leaving Ruhnzolarr at Evertemple on the 10th of Iron, the party set out in search of the greendrop flowers. Selwyn’s magic points him towards the nearest cluster, and all that remains is to navigate these heavily forested hills in search of the dull grey blooms.
As they travel Selwyn, Tally and Khamet become aware of creatures following them at a distance. With his especially keen senses, Selwyn can make out at least three. Before the party can do much more than notice their presence, the creatures charge at them. They are roughly humanoid, but with scales coating parts of their body and nothing human whatsoever in their eyes. Following behind is a bigger creature, more hunched and even more draconic, with misshapen wings pulled in close against its back.
The party make short work of these creatures. Tally hesitates to strike the killing blow on the final dragonoid but, encouraged by Amani and Khamet, finishes it cleanly with their dagger. Khamet takes a sample of the greenish ooze that seemed to serve as these creatures’ blood, intending to ask Ruhnzolarr if he knows anything about it.
Selwyn communes with nature. He finds out that there are no more of these creatures nearby, that they are not extraplanar in nature, and that they were human once but altered by something. After Selwyn assures a worried Basil that he’s not going to get sick from the greenish goop all over his own hands, the party decide to continue onward to collect the greendrop flowers before scouring the hills for evidence of whatever created these beings.
As the party collect the flowers, Selwyn notices a figure standing a couple of metres away: a tall elven figure with silver eyes and hair and a sparkling black cloak. She calls out to Amani, saying that she was worried about them when she didn’t hear from them after their connection disappeared and then returned...but weaker. Selwyn, knowing the fey can be a tricksy bunch, hangs back warily as Amani and Night’s Peace take each other’s hands.
The archfey seems frantic, and repeatedly asks Amani why they didn’t check in with her. They explain that they died and, after Khamet revived them, had a lot to process. Night’s Peace thanks Khamet, and then asks Amani if they need to focus on their bond. Amani hesitates, and then asks the archfey if the bond does something else besides dull their emotions.
Night’s Peace is evasive but, when asked directly, admits that the bond does compel Amani to like her. She was so worried about losing them, the last connection she has to her sister, and believes that they would not have stuck around for her to unlock their powers if she hadn’t charmed them. Amani says that they liked her before she did any of that, because she listened to them and because she cared.
Khamet and Tally point out that Night’s Peace doesn’t seem like a bad person, and surely she is capable of making friends? The archfey, however, insists that nobody wants to be her friend once they truly know her. Amani asks if they can bond without the charm effect, as they would like to be able to connect with her and hear her thoughts again. Night’s Peace admits that she would need to spend some time working out how to create a bond in this fashion- her current process is influenced by her emotions and her fear of losing Amani, from which that charm effect developed. However, the archfey is able to offer one thing: she pulls down a beam of sunlight, which she turns silver and uses to create a spectral ring. She presses that against Amani’s spellcasting focus, and the two meld. Creating a similar ring for her own hand, Night’s Peace says that Amani will be able to use this to contact her psychically and share a short conversation- but less frequently than before. They will be able to do this once a day.
Night’s Peace agrees to make friendship bracelets with Amani when next they meet. Khamet suggests she attend Anthony’s wedding, but she says she’ll need to think about it. After farewelling Amani and their friends, Night’s Peace treks back through the trees towards the fey portal she will need to travel home.
The party continue their search of the hills. They find an old burned out campsite, next to the even older corpse of a dragon. The party study the body and the camp, and come to the conclusion that something gnawed on the dragon bones. Tally collects a number of bones and teeth from the remains. Selwyn takes a tooth for himself besides. Anthony is uncomfortable with this, saying that it feels like desecration. The party resolve to ask Ruhnzolarr for her opinion when back in Evertemple.
Before the party return to the city, Khamet gathers them all around for a most marvelous demonstration! He dissolves the fragment of Malka's tentacle (still in his possession) in holy water. Unknown to the party, this is the same holy water with which he originally intended to kill Will. But now, having come up with his new less violent plan for dealing with the incubus, he has no further need of it.
When they return to the city, the party first bring the greendrops to the Everlight and update her on what they discovered. She resolves to send people to the camp the following day, to see if they can make anything more of it. After this the party ask Ruhnzolarr some questions about the creatures they discovered. After some thought and experimentation, Ruhnny comes to the conclusion that they were people who were transformed by consuming parts of a dragon, which is generally not a good idea. This lines up with the tooth marks observed on the dragon’s skeleton.
Ruhnzolarr suggests that he fly some of the party back to Cai Shaan, while Selwyn adds that he can take on the form of a giant bird to transport the rest. Tally, however, plans to travel elsewhere with Yzzy. The party farewell Tally, Yzzy and their friends at Evertemple, and go their separate ways for now. Before parting, Tally gives Khamet a very special book they purchased for him in Lustross: a book about the various peoples of the world with green complexions.
It is the 10th of Iron 15003, and next session will pick up on the 19th, giving the party time to prepare for facing the Corruption and for Tally to return.
