My vote is for Septemberish/Octoberish for mainly selfish reasons. It's because if my schedule goes according to plan, I may be really busy in those months anyway because of my thesis work. While I can always just take my own break or take it easy during the session (pretty easy in Amani's current state... or if that particularly changes, I know how to turn that into a break), a break here would be fortuitous for me. Meanwhile, in November/December, if the pandemic still goes on strong and my country/state is still terrible about the spread, I... may just be having a lonely holiday. xD;
Again though, purely selfish reasons. I could always find other ways to deal with my stuff. So if you strongly feel another way, don't let my thought process influence you too much.

I don't have strong feelings either way. My vote was based on retail work getting busycrazy around Christmas, so it will be harder to schedule around that time. But I hadn't considered how it could make the holidays lonely! That's a really good point. And since we'll be moving away from Saturdays anyway because of Thundy returning to work, it doesn't matter so much that I can't do weekends in December. Plus if we game on weekdays, those will be shorter sessions because late nights are not verygood for Liou, so I could possibly get in a session before a shift anyway. Not something I'd want to do more than, say, twice, but I can do it!
Whatever time period we decide: members of the group are more than welcome to run one-shots or short term games if they so desire! So that may help to combat any loneliness if we end up taking the later break. I'll just be pausing the main campaign for a breather.

If there are worries about holiday loneliness, I would be happy to run something light-hearted and fun as a one-shot over the festive season. ^^

There we go! That could be cool, if the latter break-option ends up being chosen. Thanks Celes! <3 If I could make it, I'd be super excited to convene for an exciting one-shot (or even a short adventure! I've become quite fond of those recently) and hang out with the rest of ye! =D

Have edited the recap into my earlier 'key notes' post. As always, please let me know if I've left anything out or if something is wrong/just plain confusing!!
A few team members haven't yet voted for when we should take a break. Please remember to do so when you get a chance!

Gonna close the poll in around 24 hours- if anyone has any last-minute opinions to share, please do so in this timeframe! Whatever time is chosen for a break from the main campaign, anyone who so desires should feel welcome to run a one-shot or short adventure. That might be obvious anyway, I'm just making it clear in case anyone was thinking about running something. xD
In other news...session 39 is in just over a week now! If you haven't already sent me your level eight character sheet, please do so by then- and if you need any help with levelling, just let me know. =)

The poll has been locked, and November-December is when we'll be taking a break from this campaign.
There'll be no sessions in November for sure. In December, we'll have another chat and determine if we want to have a session before Christmas (I don't think there'll be more than one.) That might help with possible Holiday Loneliness, and Celes has kindly suggested running a seasonal one-shot, so between those hopefully we can minimise that.
I am aware some folks may be quite busy in September, with Gelquie's thesis and Thundy returning to work. So I'll just remind everyone that it's okay to skip sessions when you need to! Although the party is at present intent on addressing a fairly tense bit of story, not every session will be in itself Super Important and require full attendance. Next session, for example, the party want to address a bunch of smaller things in Cai Shaan- for the main part, of particular importance to specific characters, rather than the whole group. If at any stage you need to skip a session, I'll be sure to let you know if it looks to be a major one, and reschedule if I believe the session will be one everyone should be there for.

Greetings adventurers! Session 39 is just six days and five hours away now!! =O Our heroes, now level 8, shall be continuing on their journey of...uhhh...doing generally heroic stuff! Judging from conversations in the server and the context from last session, session 39 may contain any combination of the following:
Unusually large spiders- Undead firbolgs- Dragons and their hoards- A return to the temple ruins- Interventions- And plenty more!!!
But first, we'll be picking up where we left off, near the waterfront. If anyone wants to go swimming or...I dunno...show off your ability to walk on water, now would be the time. xP It is a warm summer's day, after all!
See you all Saturday for more dee en dees!

What will the session bring? It is morning on the sixth of Stone, you have just collected some shiny new magic items from the trade offices...and have the whole day ahead of you!! Spend it how you will. I am excited to see what you folks come up with. =D

Session 39: Names Learned! Sabef (he/him)- a friend of Khamet's, who fell in with the wrong crowd and died. Khamet blames himself for not being able to prevent this. Alvaeriss (he/him)- a wood elven song writer from the Poet's Guild in Cai Shaan. Helped Anthony write a 'diss track' to try and discredit Malka, to put impressionable people off trying to forge bonds with her. She- she??!!??- someone Amani mentioned in passing to their family.

Hi fellow medium humanoids. It is I, your DM, here to get a convo started about our next session date! Breakingchains Gelquie Celestial Thundy Moni Liou I think for the next while, rather than choosing a regular day on which to hold sessions, it will be easier to organise them one at a time. So for now, we are just setting a date for our next session, not choosing a New Regular Day or anything like that. Lets start by looking at the week after next, and the week following that (so some time between the 16th and 30th of August.) *Our usual day (Saturday evening BST) is out, as Thundy will be working (I believe Thursday and Friday might be out for the same reasons, Thundy? Or it might be Friday-Sunday.) *In any case, the evening of Friday 21st BST is out, as I DM Trash Squad Friday night my time and would be too frazzled, trying to do that and then an early start for EuroAtlantis! *Sunday evenings are out as that is when Celes' other group plays. It seems like games will need to be on a weeknight (for Thundy, Liou and Celes), and so we'll keep the sessions at about three hours length, rather than the usual four, so that Liou is not up until midnight on a work night! I will start with three suggested dates. Players can suggest more, I'm just getting things started. 1. Tuesday 18th August BST (evening) 2. Wednesday 19th August BST (evening) 3. Monday 24th August BST (evening)

Hmm, Wednesday and Tuesday are not ideal for me. I caaaan do them, but later on Wednesday I have a regular thesis thing, and on Tuesday there's a thing mid-session that I usually try to make, though it's not of critical importance. Other days are fine, though.

So for Gelquie: Monday 24th looks the most plausible of the above. I could also do Monday 17th, I just didn't suggest it in case it was too soon after this most recent session for some.
