Ten years.
That's wild. When I first joined this forum, I'd just turned 15. I had an obsession with Neoboard fonts and unicorns, and I was only just beginning to be brave enough to talk to people on Neo in general. I remember being super overwhelmed when I got here because I could immediately see that this was where the Cool People hung out and, being a shy and socially awkward teenager, I wanted more than anything to be accepted. And I remember, even early on, how sweet everyone was- how somehow people got through my shyness and made me feel like I belonged. I spent so much time here, I ended up setting it as my homepage.
And somewhere along the line, it became a home, too.
Over the years I've picked up so many treasures here- friends I'll never forget, stories that took root in my heart and still remain, late nights filled with laughter. Lessons in life. And I carry all these things close to my heart, because they've become a part of who I am. So much of my life has been changed and coloured by the people in this amazing forum that I don't know who I'd be if I hadn't decided to check it out that day. I don't think I'd be nearly as happy of a person.
And so I want to thank you, NTWF. For being sturdy and warm for all these years, for being friends, for making even a shy little kid feel welcome all those years ago and for still making new folk feel welcome now.
