I'm sorry if this isn't an appropriate place for this, but I assume I'll get the reply I need more here than from TNT.
I read the "more info" section and it says the guidelines are "no more than 80k." Is this still true? because wow that definitely limits quality/size - how do you manage to meet those requirements?
Thank you!

Yeah, that's actually the updated limit. In the past, BC entries could only be 17kb or so.
Generally if you keep the image itself simple and use "save to web" and other file size reducing functions you should be fine. If you are still worried about quality, you can always put a better quality image on the respective pet's petpage, since the BC voting page links to there.

Yeahh, Neopets size limits can be a bit tricky to work with xP Like Moni said, if you can use a "save to web" feature that can help a lot to reduce file size, and also making the file dimensions not too large (like, at least under 1000px for both width and height) can save you from some work after finishing the pic. There's also the option of making a pic smaller after finishing it, but I've never been a fan of that as it can eat a lot of quality really fast.
The Art Gallery doesn't give the option to link a better quality image in a description like the BC does, but you could perhaps put a petpage link in the actual picture, like in the corner with a signature.

Hey, thanks for replying! I didn't see this but save for web is ultimately what I did. I kept the crazy ridiculous dpi I had scanned the original sketch at (600 dpi) and so I figure that's why the quality didn't seem compromised at ALL despite turning into gif format.
