New PB Colour Poll

These are the options for the next PB colour

-Steampunk
-Toy
-Burlap
-Origami


Personally, I would love to see Steampunk. Toy I'm definitely not fond of, for some reason.

I was honestly stuck between burlap and steampunk for a half hour.
In the end, I chose burlap because it looks dilapidated and creepy and I love that stuff.

I think all the options look great, though.

I ended up choosing steampunk! I didn’t have any real favorites of the group, but also didn’t have any huge complaints with any either xD In the end, steampunk just piqued my interest most on what they might do creatively with it.

Steampunk: I am Locutus.
Looks cool, but from what I'm seeing a lot of it is just clothing. For the Neopet itself looks like it just gets a new unique base color (though not an interesting one).

Toy: ~Rubber ducky, you're the one.~
... Now there's potential here, but sadly I don't think this was the best representation. Granted, rubber ducky Lenny is a good idea, but not to show off the color. A new color needs to wow us, show us its potential, and the Toy Lenny doesn't do that.

Origami: Watch for paper cuts.
One of the two I'm considering. It has a unique look and not just with it being made from folded paper, the facial expression is made to look drawn on.

Burlap Doll: The Beldam special.
The other one I'm torn between. The burlap looks nice (like the detail with the feathers being unraveled), the facial features are unique with the button eyes and wire coil hair, and I like how the legs are asymmetrical constructions of miscellaneous crafting material.

okay but there was an Origami Paint Brush Campaign like ten years ago and this makes me really happy. I'm going to go immediately vote for Origami

I went with Steampunk as well, because it seems to have the most options, plus paint brush clothes. I thought Origami was the most original though.

Actually I'm opposite of Pikachu in that I'd probably like steampunk better if it was more clothes than Robot 2.0 as it looks on the gelert model XD I don't mind paintbrushes that are mostly clothes, but then I'm an old fogey still living in the days when pirate and royal were about the only way to get your pet to wear clothes at all and still find such things appealing, ahaha. I can definitely see why that wouldn't appeal to customization junkies.

That said, I do like all the concepts here. They've got potential if applied creatively.

Just from the names, before I looked, I thought I'd love "toy." Looking at it... Eh... not so much. I'm with Duke Pikachu on this. I'm torn between origami and steampunk. I kind of feel that steampunk doesn't have enough contrast to really see all the detail, though, and that's a bummer. I think I'll probably go with origami, but I'm going to have to think about it a little more first.

I legitimately thought that I was going to be alone with choosing Steampunk. All four are interesting in their own ways, but Steampunk had a nice, dark quality which I think is going to be great for many potential customizations.

Toy, in particular, could work too; as said, I just need an example that's distinctive enough to truly sell me on it as a potential good color.

BTW, remember that it's likely two (or maybe even three) will be selected.

Because there's a reason they need new Colour:

Aisha only have two Colours left: Marble and Stealthy.

So would be in JS's best interest to have 2 or even 3 winners, and even then they'll probably have to do a Paint Brush poll next year too.

I kind of wish I had voted for toy, because maybe not all of them have to look like a plastic squeaky toy.

Chia could look like a nesting doll or one of those dolls that weave and wobble but don't fall down.
JubJub or Chia could be a yoyo or a round spinning top.
Uni could be a rocking horse
Mynci could be a sock monkey or one of those evil monkeys with the cymbals.
Lupe could be one of those old fashioned pull along toys. I don't know How I would feel about giving a pet wheels instead of legs? What would you think about it? Maybe have legs with wheels as shoes and you can remove that.
Cybunny could be brown with light brown stomach, pink ears and warn spots like the velveteen rabbit. It would have those round black shoe button style eyes, removable with contacts if you like.
Moehog would be a piggy bank.
Krawk could be a jester. I always wanted a jester krawk, because they just look like they would make a good jester. It would be like the old Punch and Judy Jester.

I kind of like the idea of old vintage style toys, but maybe the pteri could be an egg that is hatching, since those are sort of popular these days.

Voted for Burlap Doll in the end. Origami was close but I think they could do a lot of creative things with the Burlap Doll idea.

Had they switched the one of the Gelert's Colours for Toy it might have had a better chance (if JS was creative with it). Origami or Steampunk would have worked fine with the Lenny, meanwhile for the Gelert they could have gotten the idea across it'll be different toys by making it into a slinky dog (obviously not all Neopets would be slinky dog so would get the point across, having the Lenny be a rubber toy makes people worry a lot of them would be like that).

Considering how new TNT seems to be doing a lot of digging back through site history and incorporating that into the new things they release, I kind of wonder if someone on the staff ran across the Origami PB campaign somehow.

Just out of what they've given us, I feel like Burlap looks the best. I foresee a lot of "cursed doll" OCs.

All of the others sounded great at first, but none of these ones grab me in practice. Toy could be pretty cool, and I actually like the steampunk base more than the clothes, but I think I have to vote for burlap.
