Well, I’ve really been motivated to draw these past few weeks! Okay, so I’d love to group them together better, but I’m working on different projects at the same time and am not done with any as a whole. And I want to show off the batches I have already. :3
Art for guild member
Continuing on from the guild event from my last post, here's #4. Or actually #5 because I haven't finished the actual #4 (it involves body parts that are more than just the head, which is why I'm having some trouble).
Anyway, the description for this pet specifically mentioned having oversized apple bottom jeans over the ears (or feet) and/or have the baby usul in a pile of clothes, and well, I aim to please. Especially when I wouldn't know what else to do, since coming up with unique poses isn't one of my strengths at the moment.
As this pet was a silly goofball, I opted for a messier coloring style to match the vibe. I've always liked that style in which the colors kind of leak outside the lines and wanted to try it. Thankfully non-detailed clothing works for it, because there was no way I was going to figure out how to actually draw a detailed pile of clothes. Nope.
Guild bookmark graphic
I really like my book club guild and I guess I must get antsy whenever any of my guilds has a lack of activity, AND none of my current guilds has any achievement graphics to earn yet (The one I want to join is closed, and others that actually do it...I dunno, the theme doesn't fit me enough, even though I want the badges. I know. It's my own fault for being picky), so I kinda took it upon myself to make some graphics of my own.
I guess I was inspired by October being prompt month and the fact that my Goodreads friend tends to read spooky books during October... so I proposed the idea of having a themed book challenge/booktober this month and I'd make some themed bookmark graphics.
So this bookmark is earned by reading witchy themed books this month. If you want to join this challenge with me, you can feel free to grab this graphic if you complete the requirement. :3
It's pretty late in the month to introduce this, but other themes I plan to make bookmarks for are:
1) ghosts
2) vampires
3) pumpkins
4) maybe general Halloween
October achievement stickers
So yeah, I'm really feeling FOMO about guild achievement badges so I created some stickers to earn after completing some site activities. This was also because I was feeling frustration about how my bookmarks/graphics weren't turning out the way I wanted them to, and I wanted to turn to something I felt was easier and was one of my stronger skills: drawing.
This you can earn if you manage to get that RE with the ghostkerchief making friends with your pet and following them home. I'm still trying to get that event to happen to Sam but the little ghosties seem to like Cowzer a lot.
I'm pretty proud of this drawing! My main reference was the Halloween JubJub Plushie. The activity requirement for this one was specific to GC's upcoming Halloween pumpkin-throwing event, but for actual Neopets the OG site, you can earn it by giving your pet any pumpkin item (food, toy, grooming item, etc.). :3
Hmm. This is so much smaller. I'm going to have to adjust that. Anyway...I traced this over the Slorg Sticker (and based all these stickers on that sticker style). This was actually supposed to be a plushie but I forgot about that. So maybe I'll make another plushie sticker, and this one can be achieved by having Count von Roo, I dunno, double your level? Or since the month is half over, just increase your pet's level. *shrug*
I have a spooky book one where you can earn it by reading your pet a spooky book but I forgot to add the white sheen to it, so I don't want to upload it yet.
Fall/Halloween pet art + Neotober WIP
I actually drew this back in 2021 but never finished it because it had complicated details. I'm hoping maybe if I post a WIP here, I might feel more inspired to complete it? I was thinking of making this part of my pets' Neogram project, which would require a tweaked perspective that could fit into a square and maybe look more like a candid photo captured by one of my pets.
If anyone wants to join me in this idea, I'd love to link petpages! I think Whitespace (was that the petpage?) has an IG layout that I was gonna use. Anyway, whenever I get some art ready for the Neogram, I'm gonna make a board post on the Art Chat I think.
This one was too detailed and I must have been having trouble drawing one of those pumpkin items. So I got tired and gave up. This one was also started in 2021. It's for Moomoo's Count von Moomoo play.
Okay, so I've had lots of projects that I've been working on, but I decided to FINALLY work on one of the Neotober prompts from /~Inktober. This one's combining "faerie" and "Altador Cup". I've been wanting to draw Luxinia and Varia from Faerie's Hope (I LOVE that game, and I'm sure you all can guess why, lol. But aside from that, the faerie aesthetic is just my favorite and I love match-3s, sooooo this was always going to appeal. But it helps that the game actually runs well too). Considering there's a whole scene about Team Faerieland (which I really liked seeing even if they threw shade at my team), I thought it'd be cute if Varia took Luxinia to see a match! Team Faerieland is DOING WELL and maybe, since I've always intended to draw my own dream podium, this is the Cup that Faerieland finally wins!!
Anyway. I'm pretty proud of Luxinia's expression and Varia's pose. I had to do some practice sketches before this, but Varia's pose turned out even better and more dynamic. Hopefully I don't mess it up when trying to refine it.
Sam got some new earrings and is taking a selfie! This will probably be the first post of my pets' Neogram, but I haven't finished it because ugh, how do I draw the foreshortened arm??? Bleh. But I'm really proud of this. Sam is my favorite pet to draw. Also, I don't see why there aren't really any ear cuff wearables. Dangly earrings don't look good on a lot of pets' ears, and I think cuffs would actually work for some of them. Like Korbats.
Good Fyora, have I always been this unrestrainedly rambly? Well, these last posts I've just been rushing to write stuff and have stopped caring about editing. I'm sorry to everyone who chooses to read all this. OTZ
Might reorganize these once I'm done with everything.

Pretty proud of how this turned out! But omg...apparently I messed up my laptop's resolution when trying to make the screen size appear bigger when I first got it because sizing of the image gave me SO MUCH TROUBLE. The images appear much smaller in GIMP than on the web, so I got a nasty shock when I exported and uploaded to a petpage to find that my bookmark was much bigger and not as clear as it'd appeared in GIMP and my laptop's image viewer.
Which sucked because I had been so excited making this and spent a lot of time on it! And I had to redo it on a smaller new canvas because resizing the existing one warped the quality. I mean, I just copy and pasted the layers more or less, with some editing required, and I just kept the pixel ribbon I drew the same size (which actually looks a lot better with this size).
But yeah!! It was very exciting because this was also my first time making some successful pixel art attempt! I'd previously read a tutorial about how to have clean looking lines and remembered that for this. But my previous attempts to make pixel art (based on existing items) proved really difficult so I thought this was something that would be really hard and I wouldn't ever really make pixel art. But now I feel like I understand how it's done now, so I think I'll attempt some in the future!
Anyway, I wanted all my graphics to have the main subject reading a book. I could not find images that satisfied that and fit my themes, and after attempting to draw it in and not liking the result, I just decided to give up on that. But the background involves shelves of books, so I suppose that works! I'm going for puns for the text too, lol.
Remember when I was obsessed with making buttons? Yeah, this is basically a vertical button and I still really, really like buttons, haha.
