Took me a few pages we got a new site theme, I was using the Faerie Ruins theme in anticipation of the Faerie-Wraith war, lol. I than noticed that the sidebar colors was red as well as the drop down menu, than I noticed everything else. Seems like the theme isn't complete yet: there are other characters but it won't scroll, it uses the Kiko Lake notice symbols, and the sidebar & drop down menu are red & blue. Since the plot isn't until November does that mean we'll be stuck with this theme until then? Was this accidentally activated? Anyway, WOO! When they announced a shadowy figure on the News page I was worried that was all they're going to do, but they did have the Faerie Festival wrecked. Not only that they gave us an Avatar, new theme which is replacing everyone's current, and promise for more via Fyora's letter (though as Shinko said, 50k isn't really that much nowadays but, then again, right now they're just looking for who they think are just vandals. Though I have a feeling no one will be collecting it as things might get more complicated...). So, the characters on the bottom. The most noticeable new one is the Xweetok, I'm going to guess he's Kaia's friend Reizo. He also looks to be new art and in the traditional Neopets style so either JS artist CAN replicate TNT's art style when motivated or this is just old art they never used and JS was holding onto it for a rainy day. The only other notable character is Masked Intruder, which I'm hoping means good things for Defenders of Neopia in the future (come on more Series 2...). I wonder if this is an anti-Xandra that will launch Faerieland back into the sky... *Sigh* I'm so conflicted. Both updated Faerieland maps are beautiful but we can really only have one: either up in the clouds or down on the land. I was debating whether to review this Faerie Festival on its own, but obviously it's now part of a greater event/plot so I'll hold off. But if nothing comes in a week or so (or the theme disappears) I will consider the two separate and do a review. |

The randomness of the characters and the fact that the only one being displayed is the only unique one makes me think the others may just be placeholders. |

A Kaia plot! But wonder if they will manage to seamlessly link the Faerieland history to the discovery of Shenkuu from the Cyodrake's Gaze … jusu a link between both Faerieland and Shenkuu that Kaia represents - maybe? We'll see!!

Interesting. I agree the site theme looks very placeholder right now (it kinda looks like the characters were just chosen to look like "somebody feeling unsure in a spooky environment" tbh) but at the same time I appreciate the unusual move of using a new site theme to tip players off that something is up.
I'm curious to learn exactly what the "act of vandalism" was. But given the set-up that we have, I predict a fakeout where at least one other faerie blames Kaia for it, and then broadly speaking it turns into a Rudolph situation somehow. |

Logged on today like "Well it's about time".
Been considering jumping back in and doing a couple of NT comics, and today inspired me to whip one up about the festival and submit it. We'll see if it goes anywhere.

Yes, some people said that both theme image sets are loading at once, hence why there's a bit of lag when using the theme you don't get otherwise (not that you can really tell site theme lag from the general site lag that's around 99% of the time). I noticed it a lot more on my side account - I wasn't even expecting to get it there since I don't look at events or such. |

I wonder who will be behind all this. We know Xandra is turned to stone, but she could have been changed back somehow... or there's someone out to follow in her footsteps. There's also the Darkest Faerie, whose statue did go missing at the end of TFR. It would be cool if they picked up on that loose end and worked it into the plot.
