So as many of you will no doubt be aware by now, photobucket has decided to shoot themselves in the foot by removing third-party hosting as a feature on free accounts. This means that anyone who had an image posted anywhere that was hosted on photobucket is now stuck staring at this. One thing that is particularly tragic about this, at least for our forum, is the loss of at least a third of the images in our old Ode to TNT. If you aren't familiar with it, this was a giant collaborative project that I ran back in 2015 after the mass layoffs of the old Neopets Team in the wake of the Jumpstart acquisition. You can still view it in memory lane. Unfortunately a large proportion of the old images associated with the Ode were lost when Photobucket changed their rules, leaving a lot of broken images. This is a real shame, because I know for a fact that I at least still like to go back to it from time to time and reminisce about how much Neopets meant to me growing up, and still means to me now. So! I've decided to launch a rescue mission to find and rehost as many of the now lost images as we can. If you received a tag on this post, it means one or several of the broken images were submitted by you, and I'm letting you know in case you wish to see if you can download them from photobucket and rehost them. Of course there is no obligation- this is purely if you want to. Thanks in advance to everybody!

If you right click one of these photobucket images, and view the image, and if you're on a browser without adblock, then you can see the image on photobucket's website itself. That's how I saved the images from Rabbit that she had gifted me, for example, and now I host them on my own account on a different image host. So by that, I can save Rainbowmoonlightstar, and everyone else's for that matter, if we need to, but here's hers: And here's mine, which I've already saved:

Hi there Shinko. I was able to rehost. I don't know if I was supposed to private message you or to just post on here, so I just posted on here. (Also, sorry for the quality, it's not the best. I can't fix it.)

My comic is a Photobucket image as well, just for some reason they haven't decided to asplode my account yet x) Once it inevitably does, though, here's my rehosted image:

Mine was still fine on Monday, for example, but by Wednesday it had gone kaput.

Yeah, it's definitely unfortunate with Photobucket (and a great way of ticking people off, to put it mildly), but thank you for doing this.

Thanks for doing this Shinko . Here is the artwork I had on the Ode to TNT project; uploaded to a new hosting site!

That's how I saved the images from Rabbit that she had gifted me, for example, and now I host them on my own account on a different image host. Not sure if you guys are aware of this, but I'll say it just in case: The reason why it still displayed for you was because the image was cached on your browser before it was changed. If the images are displaying the update ad when you view them directly on Photobucket, do a hard refresh (ctrl+f5) and it will display the original picture. This is because Photobucket only changes the image to the ad when you try to view it off-site, and afterwards, that ad is cached for you instead of the real picture. Doing a hard refresh while viewing it on the Photobucket page undoes this. You should be able to recover all of the images from the Ode to TNT thread this way.
