Been meaning to post this for a while, about a year infact. Last year Snarkie put up two post on her site. Sadly she hasn't posted anything since, she's active on her Twitter so she's still around though I don't know whether it would annoy her to ask if she plans on posting any more info on the creation of plot. Anyway, if you're curious, here are here posts: AMA: Neopets Staff Count- From Snarkie's recollection the max was about 200 member.
- The Production team (the people who made the content) was about 65-70, mostly artists and was the department with the most members.
- The remaining 130 was made up of admin & facilities, moderation, support, system admins, QA, legal, marketing, sales, executives, etc..
- This count doesn't include Nickelodeon, such as IT people which once a week helped TNT so their programmers didn't have to double as tech support.
- By the time of the JumpStart sale, while Snarkie isn't sure the total staff number, for Production it had gone down to 35-40 with most being artists (was mentioned programmers was most of the time 3 with rarely a 4th).
- After the sale many of the artists were laid off, Snarkie saying when she left (on the week they moved to the JS office) it was about 18 people in the room (including Support and remote Mods that hadn't been let go).
NeoTales: Plotting a Plot – Part 1Now there's a LOT here so would probably be best to be read instead of me picking out what I at least considered interesting. However if you were ever interested how TNT saw plots then its definitely a good read.

Zoinks.
I'm at work right now but this is super intriguing for me as someone who missed most of the JS sale fallout. I also want to ask Snarkie if she can pass on a message from me to Mr. Insane.
"Dear Mr. Insane, thank you for inspiring more than 60 of my NT submissions, more than 10 published poems, and one winning Storytelling entry. I'm 31 years old and still writing NQII stories. Sincerely, Kat."
(NO OBVIOUSLY I'LL MAKE THE WORDING BETTER ALDFJDLASJFS)

TNT member Gutterfoot had a Q&A on the Event Board a few days ago answering a whole slew of question. Thank you JN for collecting all the questions & answers, I'm just reposting them here for archival sake: Battledome and NeohomesGeneral update:
On BD bugs:
My Takeaway: While obviously the Battledome was coming over (it's already been converted to HTML5 before JS took over) it's also good to hear Neohomes are not only also making the conversion but they do want to update them (and have update plans for the BD as well). Now a lot more fuss has been made over the BD (and its bugs which they're aware of) but not so much the Neohome and they're open to hearing more Neohome suggestions.
Charity Corner (& Almost Abandoned Attic)Now there's a batch of Charity Corner 2020 questions but I don't feel all of them need to be archived as they only pertain to problems with this CC. In addition a lot of Gutterfoot's answers is that he doesn't know why some decisions were made and passing along suggestions given to him. Here are the few Charity Corner questions I feel worth archiving (there's also something for Almost Abandoned Attic): On changing the point value of Sticky Snowballs:
On the possible return of the perks shop:
On returning to the 2017 Charity Corner format and the Almost Abandoned Attic:
My Takeaway: They see Sticky Snowballs as an exploit (I'm sure we can all go into why that's not the case but that's another discussion) so they're probably sticking (heh) to being 1 point. Curious if next year they'll do the same with the Icy Snowball, Exploding Snowball, and few Healing Potions which are also r90+ that they didn't change to being 1 point this year. *sigh* Meanwhile Perks coming back aren't out of the question. While nothing was said about the old style of CC, since Gutterfoot didn't hear anything about it I'm thinking it probably wasn't an option even brought up. If I had to take a guess, JS REALLY wants to ignore super inflation of r90+ items thus why we have the point system. Not a bad reasoning, just how they've been going about it needs work and probably would really help if they talk with the veteran players for some suggestions (or if they want a smaller group of trusted players than Jellyneo). BTW, TNT announced they're no longer making changes to this year's CC (2020) but will be taking what they learned and apply it to next year's CC. *shrugs* Almost Abandoned Attic isn't likely on their radar as it's likely at the end of a long list of things that need fixing if on the list at all. Though it makes me wonder how complex is the Almost Abandoned Attic to fix; if it's a quick thing to fix then I say just knock it off the list.
Games ConversionOn converting games to HTML5:
On which games receive nearly zero plays:
My Takeaway: Probably the best option to do and good to hear that it's likely going to be a wide variety of games if the "even minimally" is to be taken as them casting a wide net. Though my question for the games that aren't making it over: are they going to eventually or are they being added to the Game Graveyard? And if they are, are any games going to be made to replace them, such as a sequel to those games which improve on the mechanics thus making players want to play them more (and if they have any Avatars connected to them you can get the Avatar by playing these sequel games). I also wouldn't mind if they could confirm Neoquest 1 & 2 are staying. Now they aren't flash, they're PHTML I believe so they should still be playable even without Flash, but just the confirmation would be nice to have.
Mobile Beta and ApplicationsOn the recent match-3 survey on mobile applications and TNT's priorities:
On attracting a younger audience:
On mobile beta and the possibility of a dev blog:
On the fate of the classic layout:
On beta having night mode:
My Takeaway: But wouldn't the purpose of attracting younger players vis the mobile app is to also bring them over to the main site? Anyway, sad to see the "classic" layout going away though this isn't the first time the site layout drastically changed. Just this time we know it's coming instead of being shown a giant blinking Meepit telling us "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED". Like all things, it's just something we'd need to get used to. And Dev Blog and Dark Mode I'm good for, though I'd kind of prefer if the boxes for the items remained white as that was how they were intended to be shown.
Neoboard FiltersOn Neopets item names being caught on filters:
On relaxing chat rules and modernizing the forums:
On changing the Neoboard filters:
On relationships and gender on the Neoboards:
My Takeaway: Kind of find it funny how even TNT had problems making announcements on the board cause they kept getting caught on the filter (you'd think staff accounts would have been given immunity to that). Though if anything that at least shows them that the filters need some updating/loosening up (maybe even include a "white list" to allow names of items). The last question has me wondering if they're going to maybe see about hiring a few more mods once they're done converting the site. Or, if not that, maybe try implementing a better reporting system for those who are being targeted.
Site UpdatesSince this is a lot of general stuff, instead of having a final "My Takeaway" at the end, I'm just going to post any thoughts I have below the Q&A in red text. On posting more updates on Discord rather than on the Help or Site Events Neoboards:
If I'm reading this right, at least Gutterfoot prefers to post site updates on the Neoboards rather then on the Neopets Discord. Yes, I agree with that, in addition to posting updates on the News.
On the status of the site's HTML5 conversion:
On customization page loading issues:
On Neopets' target demographic:
Ah yes, an issue often older franchises have that are initially targeted at a younger audience. What I always thought was both a fair and logical philosophy is that things made for kids don't need to be "kiddy". A good story (and in Neopet's case, site features, events, and plots) is one written because there's an interesting story to be told. As long as something is not too violent or anything else generally prohibited from kids seeing I believe a story/feature doesn't need to worry about a "target demographic" as both kids and adults will feel they're being respected and engaged. Don't know if this really helps, but that's my take at least
On holding simpler, less stressful events:
On the desktop version of Neopets:
On customization of petpages and lookups:
That said, if you have a customized Petpage, Lookup, Shop, Gallery, whatever, SAVE THE CODE! I would not be surprised (and hope they would announce it before they do) that they'd be wiping custom codes clean.
On art theft:
THERE WAS ANOTHER INCIDENT? AND IT WAS WITH OFFICIAL MERCH?! Okay, how? Like, JS has the Neopets image database, they don't give the people they're working with making the merch all the approved art assets on that? It's one thing for an item because I can sadly see how they just went to Google to pull up reference material without thinking, but official merch? Heck, at this point you might as well hire Suta Raito or at least buy the ownership of all her Neopets art if this is going to keep happening.
On sending ideas and suggestions to TNT:
That reminds me I gotta clean-up my Altador Cup "fix" suggestions, with them going to have to make a new version of the games in HTML5 maybe this is the time to suggest them.
On more opportunities to chat with players on the boards:
BUT WAIT! There's more! Stick tune for my next post!

TNT member van Doodle answered a few questions on the r/neopets Reddit Discord a few days ago. A lot of them are general bug reports so just going to post the more notable ones:
On whether Keyquest is still happening: My Thoughts:
On whether the Legends and Letters items will be tradeable or stay no trade:
On hints for unknown Cooking Pot recipes: My Thoughts: Okay that made me chuckle a bit.
On his position at TNT:
So a lot of the site rare drops/events such as Faerie Caverns Stamp, Grave Danger Stamp, Rubbish Dump avatar items, are all programmed with odds so remote with our current size of playerbase we maybe see one or two a year. Now obviously this is a sensitive subject because messing this up could turn into another Forgotten Shore/Draik - Krawk fiasco but... any chance these drops can be looked at? Or maybe they're actually more than we can see and people just don't announce it? My Thoughts: As I said above, just talk with the veteran players (or Jellyneo) and we'll tell you what we think is right that can be than construed as a "suggestion".
Will the swf files for the old flash games be downloadable so that people could still play them but not win anything? My Thoughts: Oh, that's a surprise, I didn't think that was possible!
On if anything will happen with Lutari Island:
What are the chances all the Avatar games will be converted in time? And will all games be converted eventually? My Thoughts: Maybe you can connect a Game Master's Challenge to each of the release phases, it'll make those games coming back feel more important and be a mini-event that should be easy to do (it would be similar to the few times TNT had "New Game Challenges").
On Bilge Dice:
On World Challenges: My Thoughts: Ever or at the moment?
On whether Shockwave games will be converted:
When the conversion happens, will the games that haven't been converted still be playable? Like how if you can get shockwave going atm, you can still play/send scores for them?
On site themes being ported to new layout:
On TCG code redemption after Flash goes away:
On Lutari Paint Brush becoming an actual colour: My Thoughts: Well assets do exist, but they're more just random pieces of artwork than the default poses you'll find on the Pet lookup.
On accessibility and issues with beta layout:

And the Q&As keep rolling in, this time more answers from Gutterfoot via the Reddit Discord (credit to JellyNeo as always): On NC Cards coming to Mexico:On if the Dyeworks items from the new JubJub Power Bounce Retired Mystery Capsule will be replaced with the originals:On the Petpetpet Random Event (sounds like it's no longer active?):General Battledome update:On a Pound release fix:On reactivating the Tooth Faerie avatar:On more pet slots:MY THOUGHTS: This may be a controversial opinion but I'm kind of wondering if they shouldn't charge Neopoints to open up new Neopet slots. Like right now a normal account can have 5 and a Premium can have 6. I think for most people that's enough. But if someone wants more slots then let it be a goal by letting them buy more slots (up to a certain amount of course). For this example we'll just go up to 8/9, so three more slots to unlock. First unlock could be 100k, second unlock would be 250k, and third unlock would be 500k. I think that's reasonable (and also leaves room for them to add in more later on if they wish). On combating autobuyers:On naming the Soup Faerie:MY THOUGHTS: Hm, don't know what I think about this. On one hand she is clearly her own character so obviously has her own name. But on the other hand, due to her role on the site, I see her as a sort of motherly figure to everyone. You don't call you mom by her name, you call her mom, and that's how I see people calling her the "Soup Faerie": at this point its a term of endearment & familiarity. She's everyone's "Soup Faerie". On if TNT has intentions of adding closed captions to the videos on their youtube channel:On drawtober:MY THOUGHTS: Isn't it called Inktober? Also last year they released an Inktober list (it wasn't exactly connected to any contest like NeoCreation Week is, but they did make a list) EDIT: So turns out there's a whole controversy surrounding Inktober (long story short: Creator of Inktober decided to trademark the logo, hired lawyers to block people selling anything with the logo including genuine artists, applied frivolous rules to how artists could mention the art they made was for an Inktober, and said the logo was only for use by sponsors. He also sold books with plagiarized work in it). Thus no one wants to participate in Inktober and instead group of artists made the alternative "drawtober". On the Support staff and ticket help consistency:On the Mutant Vandagyre design:MY THOUGHTS: Wait, why? Was their internal issues with the making of the Mutant Vandagyre? I mean it does have a sort of "made by committee" design to it, you know, like instead of an artist or few who drew some basic concepts & picked the best one it was made by a meeting of a handful of people who just looked at other Mutant Neopets and cobbled it together a piece at a time (thus why it doesn't change body shape, they went down a checklist of how each part should change). On site events vs HTML5 transition for the rest of 2020:MY THOUGHTS: Wait, you mean there was something WORSE than Lost Heirloom being made? Yu know, much like my other suggestions, maybe reaching out into the veteran player community wouldn't be a bad idea (or just Jellyneo). Like I personally have an idea of a plot for pretty much each world I've got written away somewhere that I could quickly write into a quick few page story/design doc... Also got a few ideas for some Event ideas they could do too... And now a little bit about Gutterfoot herself (put this in spoilers in respect to her privacy): On being excited about things in her work:On her fave and least fave pet species:On having a "fried brain":On sleeping:On pronouns:On participating in NaNoWriMo:MY THOUGHTS: I'm sure it goes without saying I and everyone else on the NTWF wishes her luck!

A few more questions answered by an unknown TNT member, once again credit goes to JN for gathering these: The newest site redesign update focuses on the Inventory. Among the features is that, when you click on an item, the pop-up box doesn't open up a new window (another way to make the site more mobile friendly). However, if you do an action with the item it still requires a page refresh leading to the question: Will they ever do away with the page refresh after using an item? These next batch are from the Neoboards: On user lookups (and presumably this might apply to pet lookups, shop layouts, and galleries as well—but maybe not petpages):On the new site redesign's navigational elements:On the Flash conversion process:

Hi y'all! Aesop has been really supportive of the writing community and has been amazing at answering questions in regards to submissions.
Me: For adding images, what is the best way to do so?
Me: For the Poetry Gallery, what works best for you: submitting a few days/a day before a pet day, or further back like a week before?

Aren't the triangle brackets lost when you submit them through the NT Submission form?
