One Year

On this day one year ago, I decided to create an account in the mystical and magical world of NTWF.

I’m glad I did

I originally resolved that I would just sit in the shadows, far away from the scary forum veterans whom I didn’t know, and just post occasionally in the reviews threads... but I figured if I was going to do this thing, I should do it properly. So I posted first in the Profile Ranks and Changes thread, and then introduced myself at the Forum Gates, met some people, and slowly but surely started posting more and more in a wider variety of places.

I was surprised (not really xP) to learn that those ‘scary forum veterans’ are all really personable people! People who are lovely and kind and welcoming and all that!

In my year here so far, I’ve met some amazing people, made some great friends, and thoroughly enjoyed being supported by and being supportive of the wonderful people whom I’ve got to know here. For one thing, I had a ton of fun last Spring getting into Hero City with a bunch of awesome, creative writers. But let’s not forget the best part of all: the endless opportunities I’ve been able to enjoy of violating the lawns of all the old and ancient fogeys around here! There are disadvantages to being rocking-chair-bound you know xP

(Like you, I did worry a bit about whether those cool, seasoned veterans sitting upon their rarefied thrones would take umbrage to a fresh young thing like me barging onto their scene. But I also thought, "Heck, I'll never gain anything unless I try." Gamble worked out well for me in the end XD)

Happy forumversary, Reiqua! \ o / I'm glad you didn't let the veterans shaking their canes and shouting about young whippersnappers and how back in our day, we used the sidewalks when we walked uphill both ways through the snow to school scare you off - we're happy to have you here and we're all looking forward to many more forumversaries with you! ^^

Including your fourth one where you get a lawn and a cane of your very own! =D
