I go to school for Fashion Design as some of you may or may not know. The school I go to is an art based design business school. I wanted to share what I do for projects so you can get a glimpse into the fashion side of art. I am open to critiques and if anyone wants to discuss anything related to a project or Fashion I can give you a Fashion Design Students perspective.
The first thing I am sharing is a Trendbook. A trendbook requires research in 13 categories Music, Art, Culture, Technology, Politics, Economics, Textures, Silhouettes, Colors, Architectures, Graphics, Jewelry, and Zeitgeist (a spirit of the times). You draw from your research the reoccurring patterns you see for each category then subdivide them into tinier parts. Then follow industry standards to put together a layout for a book showing a forecast. The forecast is done 2 years in advance to predict the upcoming style/trends. This information is important to fashion designers, merchants, and fashion buyers so they can stay ahead and put out products that'll turn profit.
** I'll take pictures of the book on Thursday or Friday when I get the book printed.
