Has anyone here read Robin Jarvis' novels? He writes fantasy stories; most, but not all, are about anthropomorphic rodents. He is most famous for his Deptford Mice and Deptford Histories trilogies. His stories are gripping, poignant, and thought provoking. I will say, however, that despite the subject matter they can also be quite violent and frightening at times. There are very high stakes in the stories and he is notorious for keeping you guessing as to who will make it out alive - even the main characters aren't safe. The worlds he creates are very real and he tends to draw a lot of inspiration from history and mythology. His official website is here if you'd like to find out more about him. I'm not familiar with all of his books, but I can highly recommend his Deptford trilogies and Hagwood trilogy.
