FINALLY, HERE IS MY HERO. *cute entrance music* (Design is in spoiler tags) This would be better if I had access to a scanner. Her name? Salamandy. Her love is reptiles. Lizards, snakes, etc. (Yes, salamanders are amphibians.) A tech prodigy, she has been interested in computers and such since school. Recently, she has invented a suit that can camouflage to any environment. In an effort to test it out, she has joined Hero City. By her side, best friend, former rival, and musical prodigy, Scaletta ( Pixie). While able to be in crowds, Salamandy prefers to be alone or with Scaletta. She avoids crowds whenever possible, even when doing her duties as a hero. Does this affect her job? Yes, yes it does. However, she gets the job done. Okay, there we go. Sorry it took so long. D:

So, uh, I suppose now might be as good a time as any to mention that I’m considering jumping in as an NPC (or rather, potentially a couple of different potential NPCs)
Because you see, the thing about any piece of popular media, especially one as big as Hero City, means that you’ve got to have fans who are watching that media and getting invested, and the thing about fandom is that there are always gonna be people who have thoughts and opinions about the latest episode, and those people are gonna start sharing their theories and opinions with each other
Which is where the MASK Media Network steps up, as a bunch of 100% unofficial-but-terrifyingly-devout fan-podcasts, VRcasts, forums and blogs run by a handful of enthusiasts who fill the hole that might otherwise be reserved for opinionated people on the internet screaming at each other over the latest Hero City news
(Spoiler: a good chunk of the MASK Media Network is still just opinionated people on the internet screaming at each other over the latest Hero City news, but they’ve slapped a production label on it, which makes it journalism)
( =D )

icon Ahaha, and all the comment sections on the articles must devolve into flame wars of people calling each other stupid and citing "facts" pulled from wikipedia. These are the rules.

MASK has more than once been the bane of arguments on Heraclia knockoff-Twitter and the various journals across the city. Some people just want to browse their feed in peace without devolving into arguments about whether Dynamic could tooootally beat Nimbus if it was a fair brawl, and for the last time Myra, Fireflyman's backstory is not fictitious and I will fight you if you say otherwise(Oh gosh now I wonder if there's a pseudo-Proboards within this world) (there is now)

Introducing yet another NPC: Miss Marković Miss Marković is a teacher at one of Heraclia's schools and teaches a class full of eight year olds. She views Hero City as an excellent tool for teaching a wide range of topics to her students. (No, this has nothing to do with the fact that she doesn't want to teach on Friday afternoons and likes being able to just whack on the TV and watch Hero City with her class). Miss Marković likes to share some of the various writing tasks about Hero City that her class does. You might get to know such students as Lorna, who thinks Tabitha is a great role model, or Tim who aspires to be a tech hero when he grows up, or Briana who... well 'popular' might be a good word to describe her, but maybe this excerpt from her last writing task would give a clearer picture: DUDE BRO is my favrit superheroe and I like him a lot. When I grow up I will go on dates with him and evrywun will see me on tv and they will want to now how the prittie girl is with DUDE BRO but I wont tell enywun my name so the tv camras wont find my house. All the girls will be jelus of me becaus DUDE BRO is the best boyfriend and no wun els will have a good boyfriend like me.
My favrit part in Hero City is when DUDE BRO is saving people colled damsls in destres. They are all realy prittie and they olways faint when DUDE BRO saves them. I like to imgan that the girl is me and I dont faint when DUDE BRO saves me but I kiss him and than ask him to met me for cofee.

Aaah I'm so behind on replying to everyone and setting up character relationships oh nooo Honestly, Layla's a pretty friendly character who's been on the show for a little while by now and I can see her being at least friendly acquaintances with most of the heroes (and NPCs if they've crossed paths before), so I'm game to set up pretty much anything XD (Adam is less likely to be familiar with the other characters, but he's got a small bit of history with the show that will be expanded on once the rp starts, so there's still some potential there.) But for a couple specifics: Liou -- Yeah, I can see Nimbus and Zenith knowing each other well enough. (Although technically I suppose the same could be said for most of the heroes, unless some of them are fairly new to the show) I feel like there are a couple of different ways their relationship could go -- friends? Friendly rivals? Casual colleagues that MASK contributors can't decide whether to pit against each other in flame wars or ship??? Jayeee --...Okay, yeah, DUDE BRO is definitely going to drive Nimbus insane XD I don't imagine she'd be annoyed easily, but he seems like just the right type to get under her skin. Also, Adam's gonna have to run into him at some point, and it shall be glorious.

I have no idea what Tabitha's relationships would be with the other characters, except for mostly friendly with the other characters (she...uhh...has strong feelings about DUDE BRO that she choses not to express because the words she would use are far too vulgar for her vocabulary). I imagine her acting as a bit of a mentor to some heroes at times while fussing over others. Despite being in her mid-20s or so, she can act like she is a bit older when it comes to giving heroes advice, especially other tech heroes, since she sees herself as the team mum of sorts. But she is friendly enough and would treat everyone equally, whether A-listers or B-listers. She cna be a little aloof at times though, so at points she's very warm and open but at other times not really considering of other heroes.
She'd be pretty generous with gifts too, though the gifts are usually stuff like tickets to her own concerts. It's not so much ego as obliviousness. She does mean well. xD
So, I dunno, if anyone has any ideas or wants to establish relationships beforehand (especially other tech hero people), give me a PM or send me a message on Skype. Or post here. =D I am open to having people interacting with Tabitha if they want.
EDIT: Revised some things. Tabitha is 28 and has been on the show for 6 years. She would have joined earlier but one of the conditions set forth by her mother was that she graduates before going on the show (she studied music and performing arts, because duh). Which was important since her mum invented all her gadgets.
The umbrella was a graduation gift. <3 Tabitha does not like having her umbrella messed with.

I drew my character! =D I haven't settled on the final color scheme for her outfit, so I'm posting just the lineart for now, but anyway, meet Dossier Dame: (Don't worry, guys, she's wearing tights! She doesn't go around in a mini skirt! XD) I hadn't really said much about her other than her being an elderly superhero, so here's some extra information you might like to know: Basically, her power is to be able to connect to databases and search and collect information that might come useful to save people or defeat villains. For that purpose, she wears her special glasses, which are a gadget that she invented. (Think 'Google glass') Her suit includes a generator (it's that weird pocket thing) to make sure she never runs out of power while heroing. She is not particularly good at combat (especially not now in her old age), but she's resourceful. Her main weapon really is knowledge. Of course, now that everyone carries around smartphones and has the internet at their fingertips, no one seems as impressed with her powers as they used to be. However, she's still a very knowledgable woman, a fast thinker and problem solver, so maybe all she wants is not to be underestimated by those young'ns using Woogle these days... As far as relationships go, I feel a bit stuck, though XD; Other than probably going way back with Sinclair (they must have definitely been on the show together back when he was a hero, so they probably know each other pretty well. Shinko I'll probably PM you about it, if that's okay!), I feel like her age makes her a misfit. But if any of you feel like your characters might click with her, I'm open to it! =D I mean, she might be stuck on her ways and occasionally be a bit cranky, but she is a good person, and I guess as a veteran she might have a lot of insights to offer to newer generations.

Okay, I finally wrangled my character together! (...Minus the looks. That's, uh, that'll come later.) So, my character introduction! *TV commercial voice*
Are you having difficulties with your utilities? Electricity on the fritz? Broken live wire? Oven threatening to burn your house down whenever you use it?
Well, you're in luck, because your local handyman is in town! You'll want to call Gordan Page, certifiable handy and repairman, at 555-PAGE! He came into town a year ago to employ himself to the needs of Hero City as a freelancer handyman, with a specialty as an electrician. His priority will be towards city utilities, but when there's nothing significant to be done, you can trust that Gordan will be there to do the job! ("After all, a guy's gotta pay bills, do you have any idea how little they pay technicians even though we work hard and our rent in this city is--")
Ahh, you need not mind Gordan's mumblings! In fact, you need pay him no mind while he repairs whatever is broken! Gordan is a quiet worker who keeps to himself, focusing single-mindedly on the task at hand to ensure that your utilities are fixed and you can sleep well at night! He can manage any task you throw at him, but if he can't, you get the Gordan Promise that he will go out and learn how to fix it for you, and he will learn how to do it quickly! After all, he is very handy!
Gordan's Other Promise is that whatever he sets out to fix will be fully fixed 110%! In fact, while he's on the job, he will go the extra mile and inspect your house for any additional problems, at no charge to you! After all, I bet you didn't know that that oven was set to die at any moment, or that that porchlight outside has faulty wiring! Once detected, he will offer to fix it for you on the spot! (For an extra sum depending on the work involved.) You need not worry, citizens, you can trust in Gordan!
Now, if you got a problem and the city's not too damaged from the latest heroic undertaking, then don't delay; call Gordan today! That's 555-PAGE!
---
Oh phew, that took, what, how many takes? Nevermind. What was it you wanted to ask me? ...What? ...Oh come on, what kind of tabloids are you reading? For the last time, that guy is not that disgraced scientist the tabloids like to talk about every so often! Look, I've read that article you pushed on me, it's so full of holes in logic and there's no substance to it. I mean, come on, what kind of disgraced scientist on the run would run to Hero City just to get some maintenance job? It's ridiculous.
Look, I asked Gordan about this "Eugene Espin" and he just looked confused and thought I was telling him the name of another client looking to hire him. Besides, I don't think I've ever seen a photo of this "Eugene Espin" before; it's just not floating around, but the way this article describes him doesn't sound anything like Gordan, and besides... Look at Gordan, he can't even keep himself clean, and he's a technician, not a researcher. I just... don't think he has it in him.
Just... stop shoving that article in my face, I'm so tired of hearing about this conspiracy theory, especially when no one can ever make a coherent argument about it.
...Wait, what do you mean we're still rolling? Didn't I say 'cut'? ...I didn't, didn't I? YOU'D BETTER CUT THAT PART OUT WHEN WE EDIT, OR I'LL WRITE A COMPLAINT THAT'LL GET YOU FI-- ((Note: I don't know if Gordan will actually have a commercial for himself or not; I just wanted to do it in this format.)) Other information: he's either 28 or 29 years old.

I'm not sure Nimbus would know Zenith's civilian identity, but they've probably had to work together on at least a few hero mission things. If Nimbus can fly and use lightning, that makes her the one whose powers are most similar to Zenith's, so they'd probably watch Nimbus's parts on the show carefully to see how she does her thing and what they can learn. And how they can do better. x3 Friendly cooperative low-key rivalry, perhaps? And MASK could pit them against each other and ship them at the same time. =D Moni I've just had a dumb thought - how would Fireflyman react to a human who happens to glow? And to fly, on top of that? Would there be anything for him to interpret? x3

Liou Fireflyman would definitely be very curious about them, enough to override his normally cautious nature. He'd make an effort to approach them and ask them a lot of questions, and if all goes well, he'll then go on to step 2 and beyond of his checklist detailing How to Make Human Friends and try to be besties4ever with them. And then they would have many awkward talks about bio-luminescence and Fireflyman may or may not develop a crush. He would then attempt to copy the movies and attempt to write something that would roughly be called a "poem." You shine quite literally In refulgent patterns that I don't quite understand But nevertheless hit a primal chord within me That is amazed by your bio-luminescence. 10/10 Future Poet Fireflyman (this is why he is becoming a marine biologist)
