Alright, so as you guys may know, I graduate high school on the 15th. Of course, I need stuff for college. The thing is, some of you know this, I do not have a lot of money to get new stuff for college. Now because I know amazing people, not only have I gotten a lot of support, but some things that can help me out.
I mentioned this, but after the blizzard of 2016, my brother and I were stuck with shoveling. We had old and lame shovels, so a nice neighbor (who is the sweetest old lady ever) from across the street lent us some good shovels. Around the end of May or the beginning of June, she gave me a graduation card with one hundred dollars in it as a graduation gift. Right now, I have 25 dollars left because I used most of it to buy my yearbook, but it'll be put to good use.
And now, earlier this week, my IEP teacher from last year asked me if I had stuff for college. I said no, because I didn't. Now I asked why she asked me, and she said she was gathering college stuff for another girl and there were a lot of items, there were duplicates. So, she sort of knew the situation I'm in, because she was my IEP teacher last year, so she gave them to me. I said thank you from my mom and I about twenty times now.
That's not the awesome part.
I was expecting a few things. She told me there was a first-aid kit and a shower caddy. Now other than that, I wasn't expecting much. A couple notebooks, some pens and pencils, maybe a bag or blanket. Now I got a whole bunch of stuff! All sorts of stationery, hygienic stuff, great stuff for my dorm, even a fifty dollar gift card to Walmart and twenty dollars cash! I couldn't believe it! (My mom took the twenty to get gas and I don't doubt that she'll use the gift card for things I didn't want to spend it on, but we're in a pinch, so I understand.)
Since I have a big family, I'm sure I'll get more things that I may need. I'm still hoping to get a laptop, but I'm not sure if that'll happen... Still, I'm positive and I think I'll be surprised by what comes my way.
