So, final prizes haven't been released yet, right? Just the convo with AAA and Lulu? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious here.

They've just been released I love the new trophies, even if they are much bigger than all the other plot trophies.

So Daily Dare 2016 has come to an end, how did it fair after a two years absence and JS at the helm? CHALLENGES:For the most part the challenges were okay, my only complaint was them skipping over Brightvale, Kiko Lake, and Roo Island. I'm curious how they selected the games, was it a random pull and planned the map's path that way? 3 Team Challenges was a good amount and felt they were nicely spaced. However there were a lot of Double Dares (7) and we had 3 in a row at some point. Now I like the Double Dare and there should be more of them than Team Challenges, but I think there needed to be one or two less and spaced out better. Oh, and you should be allowed to pull out of a Team Challenge if your partner hasn't submitted a score yet (though you'd have to replay the game for the Team Challenge). "STORY":Though the story doesn't seem to be over yet, from what we've seen so far I'm intrigued. For one thing it shows JS have read through their Neopets lore bringing up AAA having gone to Camp Wannamakeagame (and also involving Lulu who also went there) and seemingly maybe something to do with Roothless? I'll admit I've been worried about official storylines once JS took over, mainly if they did any would they be able to have it match stories TNT made, since JS other works was aimed at a younger age. However if this is any proof of their storytelling I'm feeling better and curious to see what JS has to offer. I know it might not be the same as TNT, though as long as it capture the Neopets feeling a different perspective isn't a bad thing. RAIDING THE ROYAL NEOPIAN:Just going to quickly talk about some of the wearables I think are worth noting. The backgrounds are really nicely done as are some of the wigs (not so sure about the Dark Wavy Hair Wig). I really like the Intricate White Markings, I used JN's Wardrobe to put them on dark Colours like Shadow and it looks really nice. It's just too bad all of it is stolen, Lulu is going to have the Defenders of Neopia after her one of these days. PRIZES:And of course where would a review be without talking about the prizes? We have two sets, Challenge Prizes & Final Prizes, so let's get to it: Challenge Prizes: Wow, SO many Wearables. And a lot of them are nice, though there's also a few I question if maybe they shouldn't have been Furniture (one of the item types JS doesn't really touch, though from what I understand the Neohome 2.0 is a bit finicky and even TNT had problems with it). Though speaking of item types not touched, JS has started doing Coloured Petpets which is nice to see. On a related note is also weapons and I'm surprised by the amount JS released. But are they any good? Well I actually want to talk about that, but later. And as usual there are Food, Toys, and Books mixed in, though surprisingly also a stamp. I'll quickly list notable ones: What to Do with Old Cards (a book from Abigail that's more expensive than the prize AAA gave out) Preoccupied AAA Stamp (because Stamp) Breathtaking Night Sky & Deserted Volleyball Court (very nice looking background) Grey Cobrall (and it's even sad looking! Good job JS!)
Final Prizes: First, the trophies are kind of meh. They feel like they need something else, like maybe had the controllers be different (like Atari 2600 Joystick for Bronze, NES Rectangle Controller for Silver, and the controller they have it holding now for Silver). Also at least have done something new with the Participation Medal, not sure what though. I don't have a problem with the Site Theme being the old one, but I am sad they didn't make a new Avatar (maybe at the end of story? Hopefully). As for the prize items, just because we have the Stamp as a Challenge Prize doesn't mean we can't havei a collectable for the final prizes: Game Controller Collectable Charm (and its for Gold). And that's really the only one worth mentioning, aside from the weapon and book but I'm going to talk about the weapons in a moment and the book is self explanatory. Okay, weapon talk time: Faerie Healing Dust: Healing 15 HP; Once per battle. It's a nice attempt at a healing item but it's just too low. Like sure you can get it for like 3k, but for 20k you can get the Oasis Tonic which heals 35 (and the next upgrade is above Shop prices).
Volleyball on Fire: 3 Air, 3 Fire, 2 Earth, 3 Light; Also blocks all Water if Water is used but breaks permanently. Oh, so close JS. Actually that's something I'm going to say a bit throughout this. Like I get the idea, but at the same time I don't think it was necessary. Or at the very least the permanently breaking part. This is an item only given out once, when one breaks it's not going to be replaced. With there being other cheap 11+ icon items honestly I think they should have just made it multi-use with the attack icons it has and some Water defense. If I wanted full Water defense I have other options.
Homing Mine: 5 Light & 5 Fire; Once per battle. A 10 icon grenade. Nothing special. If you're wondering why I'm not being more critical its because TNT also made weak weapons from time to time so I can't blame JS for doing the same. It's only when they do a missed opportunity am I more critical. As for this weapon, there are stronger grenades, save up for one of those.
Dangerous Dodgeball: 7 Dark. If you're an new battler and want a cheap weapon that does a decent amount of Dark icons you can do worse.
Water Bazooka: 4 Physical & 4 Water. Hmm, commonly blocked icons and in a low amount easily blocked. Kind of hoped better of an AAA prize but I've seen worse (like Rusty Lamppost as the top prize for the Tale of Woe plot).
Venomous Potion: 5 Air, 5 Earth, 5 Dark; Single Use. NOOOOO! Why single use?! If this had been "Once per battle" it would have been good! Once again, if one is used it's not getting replaced so why is it single use? It just means no one is going to use it!
Dangerous Maraquan Yo-yo: Defends 2 Water, 2 Earth, 2-4 Fire; Additional Fire if there's Physical icons; 35 drain if user has loss over 35 HP and opponent has 35 HP or more; breaks for battle after draining. I notice JS likes making situational weapons. Anyway, though odd a spiky yo-yo is a defensive item, that drain isn't that bad (and doesn't take up a healing spot). This could be usable for early battlers.
Overall, while JS is improving on their weapon making, I feel they still need some more practice and maybe even focus. Like a weapon with a lot of icons doesn't need a chance of breaking permanently or be single use, especially if they're from an event which would already limit their numbers. SUMMARY:I think JS did a good job. There is room for improvement, but then again some of my problems are ones which have existed since Daily Dare was introduced. I give this Daily Dare a solid A.

... Okay, weapon talk time: ... Dangerous Maraquan Yo-yo: Defends 2 Water, 2 Earth, 2-4 Fire; Additional Fire if there's Physical icons; 35 drain if user has loss over 35 HP and opponent has 35 HP or more; breaks for battle after draining. This could be usable for early battlers. ...
... From what I can see (although I'm not a particularly avid Battledomer), this one seems actually really good? It looks very similar in function to Crisp Blue Tunic, except that one has about three times the drain size, lacks fire defense, requires a very high Intelligence stat (750+), has a multi-million price range, and (unlike the yo-yo) uses the healing slot. Cursed Elixir takes up the healing slot and also drains (a somewhat smaller amount), although that one also works with amounts less than 20HP. Both of them seem to be really well-rated on Battlepedia (as indicated in the links). But this yo-yo is a weapon that is cheaper than either of those, heals and does more unblockable damage than the Cursed Elixir (if the HP game is played correctly), has more defense and lower requirements than the Crisp Blue Tunic, and unlike either of them, it doesn't take up the healing slot (and it can be stacked with one of them). Especially for pets that are in the 100-200HP range and starting to try to take on harder enemies, better than just "could be usable", it seems like it would be a spectacular (and currently very cheap) addition.

*pets gold trophy* And now I shall rank the games we got during this DD by order of my personal preference, for no particular reason. Ew, never again: 20) Stowaway Sting - let's not even talk about it. 19) Petpet Plunge - not only do I phail a lot but that Skeith watches me creepily the whole time, criiinge. 18) Darigan Dodgeball - I'm scared to imagine the mind that came up with this game. Could have been fun. Could have: 17) Carnival of Terror - meh, just another shoot-the-things without-running-out-of-things-that-run-out. 16) Ready to Roll - I used to be good at this one. Nice concept, just too tough to control. 15) Mynci Beach Volleyball - nyyyalmost. Nyalmost fun. 14) Dueling Decks - only fun once. Somewhat forgettable: - not bad. I got through them. Whatevs. 13) Faerie Caves 2 12) Chia Bomber 2 11) Extreme Herder 10) Piper Panic 9) Spacerocked Getting fun: 8) Top Chop - would be fun if I didn't have to keep waiting for the Ogrin master's speech frame to float up after every level. 7) Bumble Beams - fun every time it comes back in a DD or GMC. 6) Dubloon Disaster - you know it gets fun when I start talking to the game. Also the water looks great. 5) Chariot Chase - I'm sorry, I ended up actually enjoying this one ;_; Would actually play again: 4) SMELT - lol weird wonky parts, yay being able to try levels again and again! 3) Ice Cream Machine - easy peasy, fun even when it gets ridiculously fast. Extra lives are best. 2) Sutek's Tomb - feels like a vacation, swimming in a pool of fabulous bling. 1) Snow Roller - super happy fun chaotic mayhem time! <3 So. Now I'm just waiting for AAA to hurl Roothless into space with a giant yo-yo.
