With superheroes now running rampant all over the world, typical acts of crime have now changed. Robberies committed by people who can walk through walls, people who can murder with simply a thought… and school attacks by individuals who can raise the dead… Cass was an ordinary high school girl before her best friend stumbled into the cafeteria with a gnawing hunger for her brains. People screaming, dying all around her… the fear caused her to discover her powers, turning her into a glowing figure of energy and light. Before she knew what she was doing, Cass killed Parker with a single blast of electricity. As the battle wrapped up, she hid herself before anyone could see her secret, but that wasn’t the end of her troubles. Wrestling with the guilt of killing her best friend, Cass has to deal with new powers she doesn’t quite know how to control, keeping Parker’s boyfriend from going to jail because police think the soda-brewing chemist is the prime suspect for the attack, and an intriguing classmate who holds a few secrets of his own. Then there’s also the issue of who’s actually behind the attack, because they might be closer to home than they think…

I have written 6,075 words today, and I'm tired. Went to an all night write in at the airport, got an ironically accurate prompt (unexpected package, when that was the FIRST thing that I'd already plotted to happen in my novel), slogged to reach 3k before I came home at 7 in the morning (stupid busses, being so slow while everyone's asleep) woke up at 1pm, thought it was 2 because of silly time change, then spent the rest of the day writing another 3k while being energetically drained as well. I'm proud of myself. Because I have at least double my personally inflicted daily wordcount of 3k, and thus have a small buffer in case there is a day where I am sick/can't write. Because that will happen.
So tired, and so happy. ^-^
