These boards seem to be a trend right now. We're all a bunch of wrinkly old prunes.
This is somehow my first landmark thread; I never made an introduction thread (and if I had, I'd probably have nuked it sometime over the course of the past decade >>) and never paid enough attention in the past to notice previous forumversaries. This one I noticed coming up a few weeks ago and marked it down in my calendar because that's the only way I ever stay on top of things.
Yeah, somehow I've managed to stick around this place for ten years solid. There've only been a small handful of days in that time when I didn't log in and check the forum, mostly during various travels and that's force majeure right there. I've been a mod for about nine years out of those ten (wayhey, seriously? This means that the bulk of you don't even remember what my rank used to be before this fetching hot pink; I started out as Neopian Artiste and then went Jack-of-All-Trades. Never actually held an NT rank.) I've made over fourteen thousand posts (nowhere near the record, but most of them are textwalls, SO THERE.)
I've seen newbies show up, stick around and become oldies.
(I probably have dirt on most of you. *brick'd*)
I've made countless friends and will hopefully keep making them.
I've met up with a bunch of forumers in five different countries on three continents.
I got married to one of them (as you may have heard xD)
I've gone from a highschool senior to a moderately boring adult-like product with an MA, a job, a legal spouse and a belief that a Doctor Who marathon is the best way to spend Friday night (very little development there, admittedly) and with some solid friendships here that will hopefully last at least another ten years.
Point of the matter is, you guys are all awesome and whatever life brings, this place will never stop being home.
*steals all your wallets and bails for the exit*
