Site times out for me. Any site that takes longer to load than the default timeout window of 1-2 mins for most browsers is as good as down.

It baffles me how disjointed the art quality of the site is. Typically new pet colors range from fine to great, but new items like this are almost guaranteed to be copies of some real life image, most likely found from Google. I mean, the thumbnails themselves look good, but that's just because they're stealing from an already good looking image. Why do they put effort in some parts of the site, but hardly any in others? Is it just who ends up with the jobs and new items are stuck with those less involved, or is there just severe miscommunication going on over there?
It's frustrating because 1) they're not being subtle about it but probably won't own up to it, and 2) it feels like no one really understands the site lore enough to really get what to do. Not that they need to know everything Neopets as I doubt many players (if any) have that knowledge either, but they should at least know that hedgehogs and unicorns don't exist in Neopia. I almost feel bad because, just looking at the updates they need to keep up with, I'm not sure how much time they really have to learn site lore. There's a lot of it, and it takes years to fully get Neopet's past. I feel like there is some sort of trying on their end, but it's just not put into the right energies, and with a small staff, there aren't many to take charge of the site. I guess I just wish there was a direct way to contact the right people and tell them what needs to be fixed. I really feel like a lot of these easy fix problems are a result of miscommunication or ignorance rather than not caring, and it just takes enough people to point out the problem in order to get it changed. Problem is figuring out how to get their attention, or whose attention we need to get. I don't know how much feedback JS receives regarding Neopets, but I feel like either they ignore most of it due to a lot of it being negative and nonconstructive, or-- based on what I said about things being disjointed-- the information is just not getting to the right people that can make that change.
I don't know what the answer is: patience, frustration, tickets, neomails, whatever. Maybe it's some of each. Communication was never a strong suit of Neopets, even before JS, so there's little to work with here. But, in light of this repeated incident, I personally might start sending more editorial questions or tickets about these issues in an effort to reach to JS in a way they hopefully can be responsive to. I'm not saying that this will work, but I'm the kind of person that feels the need to search for a solution if I think that one exists. These items frustrate me just as much as the next person, and my efforts may be fruitless, but I guess I'm going to try because I still feel like there are some people from JS that want to try as well.

*headdesk* I can give JSN the benefit of the doubt, to a certain extent, with this piece of technology being from Virtupets, but why in Neopia is a pair of headphones in the Clothing store? It doesn't even make any sense. Headbands, I can understand, but not headphones.
On a different note, I've seen that headphone before (from Facebook through one of my friends, I think it was a Kickstarter campaign), and personally, I think it looks ridiculous, listening to music with a monstrosity like that.

honestly? they probably don't need to add items in the game. They're just mostly empty fluff at this point and Neopets has plenty of items. Maybe they do it to keep the illusion of new content? But it's not fooling anybody so idk.

(The pool, incidentally, would be made out of gift boxes.) But no, I'm stuck with a bunch of intermittent notifications that keep fooling me into thinking somebody gave me something. |

It's not intermittent for me today. As soon as I clear one I get another, so I consistently have two unopened messages from Trudy. When I try to clear all messages I get an error. (unrelated but I've been seeing you on the NC trading boards and I knew I knew you but I couldn't place where from until now and I didn't want to barge onto your board like "YOU! HI. WHERE DO I KNOW YOU FROM?") |
