"We dinnae need tae go all th' way tae Jennet fur ye tae learn tae hunt," Seamus replied with a wave of his hand as he stood up. "If we did that ye wouldn't git tae learn 'til springtime- that's th' only season Ah'm normally free tae visit, barring unexpected weddin' plans bein' sprung. Ah'm sure ye'll git invited tae hunt in th' autumn 'n' winter of this year afore that, so we need tae get ye up tae snuff." He gestured for the two boys to follow him. "Next stop's nae so far, Lin, bit ye will have tae walk a bit Ah'm afraid. If yer knees wobble too much, Hector 'n' ah kin help hold ye up, eh?" The bookkeeper laughed uproariously at this, but fortunately by that point they were out on the street and not disturbing the bar patrons anymore. Unfortunately, being out on the street meant that a good few passing people did hear the drunken laughing, and turned to look in amusement or exasperation depending on the individual at the drunks existing the bar. Though he was able to keep his balance fairly well, Seamus meandered down the street in something of a zigzag pattern, stumbling a few steps to the right before veering back in an attempt to right his course. However he paid this no mind, going on to explain where they were headed. "Tis a bit of a hole in th' wall compared tae th' other twah places we've visited so far. Just a bit upstreet from th' Guildhall Square; tis called Th' Anvil 'n Stars. One of th' servants has a cousin in th' silversmith's guild, 'n he reccomended th' place tae me." The eventually caught site of the place in question- an inn rather than a strict pub, with a sign over the door that had an anvil being struck by a hammer, and four stars streaking out from the point where the hammer made contact. "Nothin' ventured, eh?" Seamus said cheerfully to the knights, and led the way inside. The inn was brightly lit, and fairly crowded compared to the pubs they'd been in previously. It was quite noisy, and Seamus laughed, clapping Hector on the shoulder. "Least ye won't have tae worry aboot botherin' folks by bein' loud." Next stop on the pub crawl! This time it's an inn near the Guildhall Square, which has a much louder and more lively atmosphere. I'm sure that won't in any way lead to shenanigans.

Lindsey laughed loudly at Seamus's insistence that he could not keep himself steady. "Oh don't you worry, Seamus, I'm a knight, remember? We have to have good balance to fight otherwise we'd fall and die and that would be bad," he snorted and stood up, propping himself up against the table to stop the wobble in his knees. "Me and the doofus might end up being the ones to carry you." Hector, meanwhile, had lowered his eyes and whimpered a little, worried about the hunt, but as soon as Lindsey spoke, he brightened up like a puppy that had just been told it is going for a walk. "We'll sling you over our shoulders! Or we can sling you over our shoulders, Linsey!" he shouted, extending his arms out to them both. Lindsey pushed him away with an uproarious laugh, though the sudden movement caused him to stumble against the ginger knight. "Next pub, Hector. We're not drunk enough yet!" he exclaimed and grinned at Seamus. "Lead the way!" Despite Lindsey's earlier stattements, much like the bookkeeeper, the knights stumbled around as they walked. They had to lean on each other for support in order to walk in a relatively straight line but neither of them minded that, nor did they mind the sometimes funny looks they got. Their minds were a little too fuzzy with the alcohol to truly be bothered by them, even Lindsey. Occassionally he glared back at the people who stared at them but that was soon drowned by Hector's good cheer and the need to keep their balance steady. "It sounds nice," Hector remarked as they walked up to the inn, in particular craning his neck up to look at the sign as they passed. "Looks nice too, pretty reputable and no filth outside the door," Lindsey said as they went in, giving the inn a critical appraisal. Once they had gone inside, he looked around for a space for them to sit. But at Seamus' remark, he laughed and nudged Hector in the ribs. "Or there is more people for this doofus to annoy. He'll get loud enough to drown everyone out, Seamus." "I'll be fine. I'll try not to get too loud! And this crowd is big enough that you might have to yell too!" Hector shouted, causing Lindsey to giggle and roll his eyes. "Shut up and find us a seat, since you're the tallest," he craned his head. "By the entrance to the stables, or the kitchens should b-" "There's one!" the ginger knight shouted and without waiting for his companions strolled over to a table close to the bar, only just vacated by its occupants. Stains from the mugs were not even dry on it but it had three chairs all clustered together the cosy seat. Hector flopped down in the only chair that had been pushed away from it and stretched out, looking around. "I like this place. It has a nice buzz!" he said, his head lolling a little and his smile wide. "It's not bad. You have my approval, Seamus," Lindsey sat down in the chair opposite him, leaning with his elbows on the table and ignoring that he had put his sleeve into a small puddle of liquid. "Now, who is ordering the rounds? Since I paid last time, I am not doing it. The question is..." he looked around at his two companions, "Do we want to exempt Hector since he's getting married soon, or shall we dip into his future coffers of Stallion money in advance?" Hector stared at him with wide eyes. "I'm not being paid more to be Issie's husband, Lin." The two knights stumble after Seamus towards the new location and then find a space for themselves to sit down before discussing who is ordering the next round. Take it easy boys, you're already getting a bit drunk.

"Ah can get the tab, 's fine Lindsey," Seamus replied cheerfully. "But since we've a lot o' places left tae hit tonight, Ah reckon we might nae wanna sprint it. 'Sides, this is an inn nae a pub. So beers it is." He walked over to the counter, returning a few minutes later with mugs for all three of them. "Simple stuff, but Ah already tried it 'n it's good quality. Nae watered doon or any o' the tricks lesser places pull. Cheers!" He lifted his mug and took a generous gulp. "So Hector," he said. "What's this then aboot ye nae havin' money as a Stallion's husband. Ah'd think they wouldnae want the next Grand Duchess tae stand beside a laddie all done up in rags, eh?" He laughed. "Maybe ye've nae got the purses yer own self, but I reckon her grace'll get ye whatever catches yer fancy. It's the eyes, like a starving puppy, ye cannae say nae tae 'em. Nae even Lin has that strength, do ye Lin?" He laughed again, clapping Lindsey on the back. Whoops, I completely forgot to reply to this, I'm sorry. >.>;;;
Seamus buys the round. Then he jokes about Hector begging Isabelle for presents.

Both knights gave Seamus a grin and a nod as he went away to get drinks. Hector leaned towards Lindsey just as the bookkeeper stepped away. "We could have handled stronger stuff, huh, Lin?" Lindsey laughed loudly, slapping his hand against the table. "OF course. If by handled you meant fallen over and passed out in a gutter. I doubt the Duchess would appreciate that. You are optimistic as ever but let's stick to beer for now and take it easy," he said just as Seamus returned with the beers. Grabbing his own, he waited for the other two to drink before taking a sip himself, albeit he had enough restraint to take a small one. Hector, however, had no such qualms and took a very generous gulp of the beer and practically slammed it down on to the table, still smiling to show that the drink was very much affecting him. He blinked as Seamus talked about his money while Lindsey grinned, taking another sip of his drink. However, as Seamus clapped him on the back unexpectedly, the dark-haired knight took a sudden breath, forcing a few droplets down his throat. He coughed and wheezed, trying to get them out, making Hector look on in worry and lean towards him, only to be pushed away by Lindsey. Soon, however, the other knight recovered and laughed. "Sorry, Seamus, can't get rid of me that easily," he smirked at Hector. "Your puppy eyes are a potent weapon that the Captain underutilises. I bet it wouldn't just be the Duchess but whatever enemy we have to face that would be weak to them. I've, at least, got a resistance to them," he giggled again, "The problem for the Duchess is that he usually unleashes the kisses and hugs on her too, which she is completely weak towards." "It's not my fault it feels so nice. And she feels so nice too," Hector sighed leaning over his beer with a dreamy look on his face. "Doesn't change the fact that she does whatever you please if you look at her or touch her the right way," Lindsey laughed again and elbowed Seamus. "I never thought in all my years of knowing him that Hector had his eyes on being the power behind the Stallion head. But this is where we are obviously heading," he snorted and lifted up his mug. "Here's to the true head of Bern being the ginger doofus in front us!" Hector insists they could have taken stronger stuff but Lindsey proves that he is the sensible one. Then they discuss Hector's puppy eyes and the fact that Hector will become the true power of Stallion thanks to them.

"Here, here!" Seamus replied giddly, lifting his mug as well. He took a sip of the beer inside before plunking it down on the table. "Noo let's have as much fun as we cin afore he becomes tae busy rulin' the region tae party wit' us." Seamus giggled suddenly as a thought struck him. "Y'know... This reminds me o' when mah sister married the heir to Hoose Bay. She told me Ah'd be the uncle of the next Lord Bay one day, when Ah was sad aboot her leavin'." Gesturing wildly with his mug, he went on, "Lindsey, how dae ye feel aboot bein' th' uncle of the Grand Duke of Hoose stallion? Then we'll see who the power behind the throne is!" The bookkeeper took another swig of his beer. "I may be a noble, but in nae time at all ye'll both have the power tae pull rank on me anytime ye please." Seamus is drunk and rambles about how being related to the Stallions would have benefits, and points out that Lin as practically a brother to Hector could benefity too, via Hector's kids.

The two knights frowned and tilted their heads at each other in response to Seamus's toast. Both of them wore a look of utter confusion and the fuzziness in their heads caused by the amount of drink they had did not help matters in figuring out the thickening accent of their friend. "What d'he say?!" Hector yelled at the top of his lungs. "Don't shout!!" Lindsey yelled back, causing a few people to look up at him. "I think he said something like...uhh...something about wit? And a party?" "A party of wits! I can drink to that!" Hector brought his glass up to Seamus's and toasted, though he smashed them in a little too hard, spilling some beer over the tops. Lindsey shrugged and grinned, bringing it up before both knights chugged their drink. However, at the mention of becoming the uncle of the Grand Duke, Lindsey sputted and coughed, spitting beer all over their table. Hector's eyes widened and he struck him on the back, spilling more beer. "Watch it! You're spilling good booze!" Lindsey cried. Hector winced and cowered like a small puppy that had done something bad it did not fully understand. "Sorry. But...I thought you were going to die." The other knight blinked before bursting out laughing. "I've survived bandits, bullies, the second Langean war and Woo knows what else, I'm not going to be killed by beer, or Seamus," he tapped Hector awkwardly on the shoulder before turning to the bookkeeper. "That's never going to happen, Seamus, don't you worry. I'm not Hector's brother so I won't be any uncle to his kids," he laughed loudly and lifted up a lock of the other knight's ginger hair. "Come on, do we really look anything alike?" He suddenly looked very pensive as a thought entered his head and he chuckled. "Although, if they are as much of a doofus as he is, I might have to become the power behind the throne and keep them in line like I do him." The knightbros have no idea what Seamus says but they toast anyway, spilling beer in the process. Seamus's next question makes Lindsey spittake before he recovers and says that he won't be anybody's uncle. But he might have to keep doofus-children in line.

Seamus laughed at Lindsey's startled reaction. "C'mon, ye act like bein' an uncle is a bad thing! Ah've loads of nieces 'n nephews, 'n they're great!" His expression took on a light of fondness as he added, "Aaron has three kids; Tia, Amelie, 'n Leon. Ah loved 'em all but Leon was the one who liked me the most. Shy, sweet kid, he liked me tae tell him stories. Then there's my sister Nory's lil 'uns. She has twa older that were born afore the famine, 'n a third just born this past December. On Woomas Day, in fact! Ah haven't met her littlest yet, Ah was hopin' tae do that this spring, but then the weddin' preparations cancelled my plans tae visit home. Ah well, always next year!" He took a hearty swig of his beer, then seemed to remember that he'd actually been going somewhere with that tangent. "Anyway, ye'd enjoy bein' an uncle, I'm sure ye would. Even if yer not brothers by blood, ye twa are best friends, are ye not? 'S close tae the same. After all, friends are the kin ye chose!" Seamus goes on a ramblerant about his nieces and nephews to reassure Lindsey that being an uncle is totally awesome and he shouldn't knock it until he's tried it.

Lindsey snorted and drunkenly patted Hector on the shoulder. "We'll see. If the ginger doofus even has kids, or if he and the Duchess let me get close to them." "Of course we will!" Hector leapt up from his chair and grabbed Lindsey, pulling him upwards into a huge hug. "Seamus is right, friends are...are...that thing he said!" he squeezed the dark-haired knight tighter. "And you are my friend." Lindsey's laughter was cut off by the other knight's very enthusiastic arms around his neck and chest. "H-Hector, you're suffocating me," he gasped out, pushing Hector away. "Oh, oh, I'm sorry!" the ginger-knight recoiled in horror and in doing so, accidentally stepped into the puddle of beer. His balance was already off so the slippery puddle proved no match for the drunken knight. With a cry, Hector fell to the floor, his arms flailing as he tried to grab something for support. Unfortunately, the nearest thing, or rather person, was also just as drunk, if not more so. As Hector grabbed the edge of his tunic, Lindsey found himself losing his balance and fell right on top of the ginger knight. "I'm sorry, Lindsey, are you okay?!!!?" Hector yelled at the top of his voice, awkwardly craning his head to look over his friend. "Yes, fine fine," Lindsey laughed loudly and his head lolled over to Seamus. He shakily held his arm up. "Little help?" It isn't drunken shenanigans until somebody lands on top of somebody else.

Seamus, however, was doubled over with laughter. Whatever he tried to say to the two knights was completely lost amidst the combination of his hysterics and the ever thickening mountain accent, but eventually he managed to get himself in hand. "Ye twa are goin' tae be the death of each other one o' these days," he remarked, hazel eyes bright with amusement. He stood up and waked over to the duo, reaching down towards Lindsey's outstretched hand. Impressively, he managed to get Lindsey on his feet without incident beyond a little staggering. "Ye still in one piece, lad? Would nae want tae damage that pretty face, would we?" He laughed uproariously again, slinging an arm around Lin's shoulder so that both of them staggered and looking down at Hector. "Tryin' tae get yer shieldbrother killed, Hector? That is nae behavior befitting a knight is it?" Seamus is drunk and finds all of this way too entertaining.

The dark-haired knight laughed loudly at the remark. "Pretty face? Seamus, you are many things, blind is not one of them. So don't you try to flatter me," Lindsey grinned and staggered a bit, leaning against the table as he tried to support both him and Seamus. Fortunately, the sturdy construction was most likely used to such treatment and did not tip over. Hector, meanwhile, stared at Seamus with wide-eyed horror, which could have been taken as exaggerated had it not been for the sheer sincerity in the knight's face. "I'm not!! I would never want to get Lin killed! Lin, you tell him! I wouldn't!" Lindsey snorted, bursting out laughing again and patting Seamus on the back. "Nah, nah, he wouldn't. Though if you did, Hector, you could choose a much more heroic way for us to die than in a pub, drunk out of our skulls. We're knights after all! Knights!" he wiped a tear from his eye. "That means heroics!" "YES! We'll die heroes!!" Hector flailed on the floor, somehow managing to push himself up to a sitting position. He held up his arms. "Help?!" Lindsey snorted. "I'm not helping you again, you almost killed be before!" "Please?" the ginger knight's lip wobbled. "Pretty pwease?" "Oh, fine," Lindsey chuckled. "I can never, ever resist your face. I'm just as bad as the Duchess, Woo help me!" Bracing himself against the table, Lindsey grabbed Hector's arms. With a combination of pulling and with Hector helping by pushing himself up, somehow, the two got to their feet. As soon as he did, Hector threw his arms around Lindsey and Seamus. "I love you both! I'm so glad that you two decided to take me out!! I hope we can do this again after I get married!!!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. "Not if your wife has anything to say about it!" somebody yelled out from across the bar, causing a few titters of laughter from all around the inn. Including from Lindsey, who elbowed Hector in the ribs. "Yes, I doubt the Duchess will let you get like this!" he snorted. "She's going to be keeping you on such a short leash that we will see neither hide nor hair of you!" Hector whimpered and cuddled them closer. "Then maybe I don't want to..." he hesitated, his eyes dashing back and forth as his face was twisted more and more by uncertainity. "What do I do?! What do I want?! Don't make me choose!!!" Somehow, they get Hector up but then he has an existential crisis over whether bros truly come before...um...ladies. 8D;

Seamus laughed, staggering back a few steps. "Hector, Hector, calm yerself. I'm sure the Duchess will more than make it worth yer while nae tae be getting drunk out of yer mind with us. Think of it as... as growing up! We have tae be mature, am I right? Us, responsible adults!" He put an arm around Hector's shoulder, throwing the other one around Lindsey's. "We'll be the best adults there ever were! Then the Duchess'll be sure tae let ye keep seein' us, right?" "Not if she bans him from you before you start that little project!" someone else called, earning more giggles from the inn patrons. "Nosey, these folk," Seamus commented. "Didnae their mams ever teach 'em nae to evesdrop on other people's conversations?" Precarious drunken one-armed brohugs for poor confused Hector. And for Lin because equality!

Despite the shouting, Hector grinned widely, hugging the two closer him. "YES!! If we're mature, she'll let us see each other!!" he shouted. "And if not-" "Give her the puppy eyes until she does," Lindsey laughed before lolling his head back in the general direction of the person who shouted at them. "'Ey, you watch your tongue before it ends up somewhere it really doesn't belong! Like...like...somewhere!" He clapped his hands around the two, using them for support as much as anything else. "If these people can't respect private conversations, we should go somewhere else," he chugged down the rest of his drink and patted them on the shoulders. "I know a place. It's good, it's quiet...does some of the best whisky in town." "Whisky!" Hector's eyes lit up. "I could have a whisky!" he shouted, earning some concerned looks and giggles from the other patrons. "Then we shall go!" the dark-haired knight threw out his arm. "Onward! To further adventures!" *** The place to which Lindsey referred to took them to the river. Somehow, clinging to each other, the party made it across the High Bridge, only earning a few dirty looks along the way. By now, it was not the castle that loomed over them but the spires of the cathedral in the distance that overlooked this part of the town like a guardian angel. Not that any of the party noticed that. Eventually, Lindsey pulled them all to a small entranceway on the corner of an alley leading off the high street. A sign hung above the door lazily, of a small horse with its hooves awkwardly clasped together, clutching a Woocifix between them. The text below it read 'The Devout Pony'. "Here, this is the place!" he exclaimed, almost dragging them in behind. The tavern was relatively quiet, with a few people looking up from their drinks at the new arrivals. Most of the unoccupied tables stood further down to the back, clustered around a fireplace, though by the looks of it, they were going to remain empty for a while. The barkeep gave the group the side-eye before turning back to his business, already steeling himself for the inevitable. "Alright, to business," Lindsey grinned. "What do you both want?" "You promised whisky!" Hector shouted. "Let's do it!" There was an almost inperceptable noise of everyone in the inn turning to look at them. You know the drill by now. New place, new drinks.

Seamus laughed. "Whiskey sounds like a plan. Ah could go for some whiskey." He slapped some money onto the table, grinning from ear to ear. "This time Ah'll cover it, just because Ah'm nice like that. Nae every day a man gets married now is it? Is it!?" The other patrons traded wary glances, clearly not all that comfortable with the presence of the three drunks. Oblivious to this, Seamus put an arm around Hector's neck and yanked him down into one of the chairs at an unoccupied table. "Funny name this place has got," Seamus remarked cheerfully. "Devout Pony? What's that even mean?" He laughed again. "Suppose it doesn't matter as long as the booze is good. And better a pony than a horse any day, horses are bloody terrifying." Drunken rambleranting.

Lindsey laughed heartily, scooping up the money in his palm. A few precious jewels jangled down on to the floorboards but they did not escape the knight's eagle eyes and he drunkenly leaned down, grabbing them and holding on to them tightly. "It won't escape! Not until it turns into whisky! I'll get us good ones," he flashed Hector a grin. "Because Seamus is right, not every day you get married. This calls for the good stuff!" "The good stuff?! Like Tersk whisky?! Or the locla Destrier whisky?!!" Hector's eyes seemed to light up and he clapped his hands togther. "Or both, get both." "I'll get both, you big baby, between me and our noble sponsor, there's enough here for both and then some!" Lindsey chortled and turned around, staggering towards the bar. Hector, however, did not even resist as Seamus pulled him down into a chair. He flopped into his seat, smiling lopsidedly at the bookkeeper. "I dunno, it's a weird name, you're right!! Maybe it's like...a pony and it found the Lord Woo and now it's devout but how does that even happen? Do horses even have an idea of the Woo? I mean, Stallions do but...Stallions are people!" he frowned and shook his head, trying to clear the confusion, or perhaps the alcoholic fuzziness from his head. "Don't be afraid of horses though. They're big but they're nice! I wouldn't be able to do my job without horses! You've just not met the right horse!" A clear, feminine laugh came from beside him. "Most people say that about women." Hector frowned, tilting his head to look up at this new visitor. A young woman, as expected by the voice, her strawberry blonde hair tied back in a braid , smiled back at him and then at Seamus. "You boys look like you're having fun. Mind if I join you?" The ginger knight grinned. "Why not?! Always room for one more! Except I don't think we have whisky for you..." "I don't mind. I'm not here for the whisky," the girl shrugged. The boys get some female company.

Seamus was caught off guard by the arrival of the young woman. He covered his booze-flushed face, grinning sheepishly. "Well hello there, m'fine lady! Tae whit dae we owe the pleasure of such a bonnie lass's company?" He laughed. "Sorry, I'm just a wee bit blootered at the moment. But if that's nae a problem yer welcome tae stick aroond. We're throwin' a bachelor partie for mah redhead friend o'er here." He slapped Hector on the back amiably. "Lucky man's gettin' married next week." The noble gave their guest a wink. "A pity fer him- yer a lovely lass if ye dinnae mind mah sayin'. Seamus is the name, 'n m'friend is Hector." Turning around to gesture vaguely in Lin's direction he concluded, "The one gettin' the drinks is Lindsey." Seamus is flirty and friendly, or at least as best he can be through his thick, drunken brogue that I've deliberately exaggerated in this post to make it make it clear that yeah, his accent is pretty thick at the moment. XD To clarify he says;
"Hello there my fine lady, to what do we owe the pleasure of such a pretty girl's company? Sorry, I'm a little drunk at the moment but if that's not a problem you're free to stick around! We're throwing a bachelor party for my redhead friend over here. Lucky man's getting married next week. A pity for him- you're a lovely lady if you don't mind my saying."
