Well, it's a petpet supplies item, so I don't think it was donatable to begin with.
(Granted, a couple Shop Wizard searches found me a couple users who had evidently bought up dozens in the first eight minutes and were reselling them at an obscene profit, in whose general direction I fart.)

Wow, the Cyodrake Scratching Post went UB in two minutes. Not unexpected, since it's a rare toy. Actually its a Petpet Supplies item, all of them are. But yeah, looks like it's the item the item resellers focused on. Anyway here's all the items:
Blue Moon Petpet Bed
Mouldy Petpet Bed
Disco Petpet Food
Cyodrake Scratching Post
Wind Up Zytch
Yeah, I got stuck on the Zytch item so wasn't able to buy anything. I'll look in my SDB to see if I have any of them... Blue Moon Petpet Bed Mouldy Petpet Bed Cyodrake Scratching Post Oh... well then... if anyone needs one of these items for the Avatar I apparently already have the one that's unbuyable. I have NO idea how I got it. |

Curiously, it's not a petpet supplies item. It's a rare toy. Entirely donate-able. Which is why I no longer have any. But I have 13 Blue Moon Petpet Beds xp |

The scratching post is buyable again (and rather cheap, I might add). Not sure how long that's going to last.
Wind Up Zytch is still UB, though.

It's r101 and can't be donated anyway through the toy drive. I forgot about the event because I'm tired, so I didn't look up the items for today. Oops. |

They were thinking we'd expect the worst of them and stock up on Space Faerie items while they were cheap in case something like this was pulled again?  Rushed out to grab a Space Slug Soup (got one, but the lag was too awful to snag more), since I think that's the only item for today I don't have. Watch them have asked for Space Faerie items I missed xp |

And with that, I've managed to finish all 17 Adopt-a-Neopian quests. And I kept accounting records! Expenses: - Adopt-a-Neopian: Nearly 1.7 million NP, although maybe 300k of that was spent on speculation.
- Toy Drive: 100k-120k buying r80-89 plushies, and a further 200kish on r90-99 plushies.
Gains: - Adopt-a-Neopian: 4.84 million from selling items (mostly Desert Arrow Launchers and Desert Kabobs).
- Toy Drive: Some amount from selling r90-99 plushies, maybe around 400k-500k.
- Whole bunch of items gained from both of the above. As a very conservative estimate, I think the Toy Drive items should at least be worth 1 million altogether, but I'm hoping it'll be 2-3 million or more. I'll wait for prices to stabilize before trying to sell anything. And I can't even guess on the value of the Adopt-a-Neopian prizes.
All in all, this was quite a worthwhile event, and I'm hoping they decide to keep doing it. But I'll definitely have to start hoarding cheap items from now on. |
