Bit of barbed wire, piece of wool, shimmery seagrass, poison snowball, and evil snowball.
Easy day. I'll be shocked if anything goes past a few k.

Hey lookie, a day that's actually uniformly available for a change xD Evil Snowball Poison Snowball Bit of Barbed Wire Piece of Wool Shimmery Seagrass
If anything, I expect the Meri Acres items to inflate a little bit because nobody does that as a daily. EDIT: dangit Breakingchains, you beat me to it. xD

WOOT! So glad I didn't cave in and did yesterday's request! I have all the items though with all the problems people are having getting the Avatar I think I'll wait for a bit to redeem it so lag isn't much of a problem.

I... just did some speculation. Have not felt this excited on Neo in a long time. I couldn't help noticing that for some days, there has been a pattern. A world-theme, and a keyword. Today's theme was Lost Desert, and the keyword was "Desert." December 18th's theme was Maraqua, and the keyword was "Maraquan." December 16th's theme was Krawk Island, and the keyword was "pirate." For some other days, such as yesterday, the theme was a bit looser - it was "prehistoric." (If you look at the URL for Tyrannia, it says "prehistoric.") Hence the items all had to do with the idea of old-ness, and two of them came directly from Tyrannia. I'm trying to speculate what the items for the upcoming days might be. What haven't we had yet? Faerieland seems like an obvious one. The keyword would have to be "faerie." Cheap items that fall into this category include Faerie Bori Plushie (from TDMBGPOP), Water Faerie Faerie Blaster (from Maraquan BD), Battle Faerie Dagger (from Central BD), Sloth Faerie Plushie (from wheel of misfortune), Chocolate Faerie Log (from Tombola), etc.... And what about Kreludor? The word in the URL is "moon." There's Golden Moon Comb (from Lunar Temple), Glow-in-the-Dark Moon, Moon and Stars Background, Korbat Mooncake, etc.... Terror Mountain has got to be another theme, too, since it's Christmas! But what would the keyword be? I'm willing to bet my NPs that it's either "ice," "icy," or "snow." There are so many possibilities: Snow Days (from Terror Mountain BD), Abominable Snowball (again from the BD), any snowflake, etc. Then I realized that if I could only guess a TOY item, specifically a r60-r89 toy item, I would be rich. People have been tossing out every single donatable toy in their SDB, and then buying the higher-rarity (r90-r99) toys. The lower-rarity toys' prices have remained relatively stable, even though there are far fewer of them in circulation now than before the event. So when Pandaphant Puppet and Strange Growling Box were requested on December 20th, and Desert Arrow Launcher and Desert Poogle Music Box were requested today, all of them went UB very quickly. I decided to invest 20k in buying up a bunch of Sticky Snowflake Keyring, Snow Footbag, Snowager Ball, Snow Bruce Music Box, and Ice Blocks for 200nps to 500nps each. ;P If none of them turn out to be part of the event, I could always just donate them all to the Toy Drive. I pretty much did all the above a few days ago. Eventually, I realized I should specifically focus on the items that were already getting expensive, since those would be scarcer and thus more likely to inflate. My list: Altadorian Initiate Sword Altadorian Practice Helmet Ancient Shenkuu Cannon **Biyako ***Bottle of Shenkuu Ink Darigan Seaweed Coltzans Gem **Coltzans Burning Gem Geraptiku Fly Trap **Geraptiku Punch Geraptiku Snowglobe **Haunted Cookie Jar Haunted Drums ***Holiday Bruce Glitter Ornament Island Native Techo Plushie Mystery Island Drum Potgatkerchi Plushie Red Geraptiku Vase ***Spooky Looking Dark Potion Spooky Mechafish ***Spooky Nimmo Stained Glass Window ***Spooky Ring **Spooky Shutter Spooky Tree Flute Wind Up Potgatkerchi Toy Altadorian Bread ***Altador Cup Sticker ***Altador Cup Stained Glass Window ***Altador Sun Background Brightvale in December Postcard ***Brightvale Castle Stained Glass Window Faerie Bori Plushie Faerie Cybunny Plushie Faerie Techo Plushie Water Faerie Water Blaster **Water Faerie Water Blaster **Pink Faerie Snowball Water Faerie Halberd Sloth Faerie Plushie Battle Faerie Dagger Plain Faerie Cake Tyrannian Mechafish ***Speak Tyrannian ***Tyrannian Goulash Meridell Toy Plane (Just 1) Meridell Gravy Medieval Shirt Headless Von Roo Plushie **Haunted Apple Haunted Woods Chocolate Milk Glass Spooky Green Candles ***Spooky Ghost Usuki **Spooky Comb Island Native Stamp Islandberry Tea Mystery Island Heads Stamp A History of the Lost Desert Lost Desert Architecture Desert Kabob **Desert Arrow Launcher Desert Robe Complimentary Virtupets Toaster **Darigan Muffin Neovian Darkfall Geraptiku Burger Dark Red Spooky Candle Coltzan Plushie **Coltzans Ring Ghost Goople Evil Hair Clip Two asterisks indicates things that were around 50-100np at the time and therefore likely to be moderately inflated, and three indicates items upwards of 100np at the time, and therefore likely to become very inflated or possibly UB. It's not a perfect predictive method though, since I didn't put anything next to Desert Arrow Launchers and we all know how that turned out. I found six items with "Altadorian" in the name, ten with "Spooky," five with "Haunted," two with "Shenkuu" (so that's unlikely to be used), two with "Darigan" (again, unlikely), four with "Coltzan" (probably irrelevant now), five with "Geraptiku" ( ), five with "Island" plus another that I haven't gotten, ten with "Faerie" (irrelevant now), three with "Tyrannian," two with "Meridell," one with "Medieval." I'm kind of expecting Mystery Island, and possibly also Geraptiku-themed quests now. EDIT: On an entirely unrelated note, why is it that most people are apparently mostly focused on getting the avatar? I'm more interested in the daily prizes that are awarded, since some of them look like they'll become quite valuable. (I still have high hopes for the Potion of Good Dreams, if/when it gets fixed). That's why I'm specifically trying to complete all the quests.

I can't buy the avatar, though, and if the event is a one time thing…

Woo! It's so nice to not have to do these quests anymore if I don't want to shell out the NP.
edit: agreed. the prizes can be bought later on. the avatar, most likely, cannot. and the cost of some of the items really defeats how much profit you'll make if you eventually do want to sell the prize (I doubt in the long run people are going to get more than they paid for the music box, arrow launcher, and kebab for yesterday's prize).

WOOT! Now I can relax and not care if I'm able to complete a request or not. I'll still try to of course, but if the resellers pull yesterday's stunt I can just shrug and move on. Actually, maybe I'll hold off redeeming a request (unless its something I want which I highly doubt) just in case someone here hasn't completed their 8 requests yet and needs one of the items. I've been reading plenty of tips about trying to buy the items, I'll post a few here: 1. Instead of quickly reading through the request until you get to the first item, read the entire thing to get a better idea of all the items you need to get. Usually the first and even second item don't become unbuyable as quickly as the last three (they still can, but usually its the last 3 that will become unbuyable first if they do). It's suggested to do the 3rd and 4th first (in any order you want), followed by the 5th, then the 1st and 2nd last. 2. Look out for any items you may think will quickly unbuyable. Basically items that don't sound like the typical daily item. Looking through the JNs guide for dailies will show you their list of prizes, get sorta familiar with them. Also obviously toys that are r1-99 are likely to go unbuyable since the Toy Drive have caused many cheap toys (especially those of high rarity) to become sparse. However any item can become unbuyable if it's not consistently given out by dailies like the Desert Arrow Launcher. 3. Tabs are your friend. Have the Shop Wizard opened in another tab (or multiple tabs) to get ready to start searching for at least the items you know about. Having JN's Item Database opened in another tab is also a good idea but be aware that it too suffers lag when the new day turns as everyone is using it. In addition there are a few things you can do to make your searches more useful: Shop Wizard:A. If you know how the item is spelled switch " Search Type" to "identical to my phrase" so that no other item with a similar name may pop up. B. Use the " Min Price" and " Max Price". Usually items are sold at all sort of prices, so you can use that to help get you away from those items being sold cheaply (thus will be quickly bought up). I'd set min to 100 and max to 1000, but you can decide your own price range. Also don't go for the cheapest, go for higher up on the list as those are less likely to be bought before buying them. It may cost a bit more, but its better than finding you were too slow to get the one you want and have to start searching again. Oh, also if there's a shop who's selling multiples of the item you may have a better chance buying one from there. JN's Item Database:A. If you're looking for an item you don't know the name of, use key words. First type what the item basically is in " Item Name" (like "music box", "shield", or "snowball"). If you want a more exact search you can add another key word in the "Description Contains" but note that this doesn't always help. Besides, usually the item you're looking for is in the first few line of items that come up if you do what I suggest below. B. Set " Sort By" to "Price" which will have the cheapest items appearing first (as well as get rid of the items are are not priced). C. You can set " # Items" to either "20" (4 lines) or "30" (6 lines), just remember that the more items it needs to show the longer the page might have to load. D. Check the " No NC Items?" box so that the NC items don't appear (since many NC items are around 100 NC, it could mess up your search). 4. Finally once you find the item you think you're looking for copy & paste the name into the Shop Wizard you have opened in another tab. Time is of the essence. Anyway I like today's request was pretty much a "breather" request. After 8 days of certain items becoming unbuyable I think we needed one to relax a bit on. Sadly that'll mean the item probably won't be worth much but being many people's goal is to get the Avatar that doesn't matter (and if there's a prize you want you can buy it, probably be cheaper too). We have 8 days left and I wouldn't mind seeing at least one or two more "breather" days.

I guess today was the Faerieland day. No Faerie Dartboards, Faerieland Building Blocks, or Bottled Faerie Keyrings were requested. #prophecyfail XD I'm glad for everyone who has been struggling with this event that today was an easy day, though! On an entirely unrelated note, why is it that most people are apparently mostly focused on getting the avatar? I'm more interested in the daily prizes that are awarded, since some of them look like they'll become quite valuable. (I still have high hopes for the Potion of Good Dreams, if/when it gets fixed). That's why I'm specifically trying to complete all the quests. I like that the avatar looks like writing, and then a character's face emerging. :3 I also feel that this event was the First Big Exciting Thing that happened after the transition. With Key Quest down, site lags and so many other glitches, Neopets was beginning to feel like a ghost town. Then this happened, and all the frenzy and passion was just... amusing to see. XD And to be part of. I think I'll always keep this av on one of my neoboard pens.

I guess today was the Faerieland day. No Faerie Dartboards, Faerieland Building Blocks, or Bottled Faerie Keyrings were requested. #prophecyfail XD All you need is one correct guess, and the speculation will pay off by a couple orders of magnitude. I made 3.7 million NP yesterday off of two correct guesses. And if none of your guesses pay off, you only spent 20k, right? 5/8. Only three more to go! If I really, REEEEAAAAALLY wanted to, I could buy the prizes after the fact. I can't buy the avatar, though, and if the event is a one time thing… I suspect this is actually going to be an annual thing. Not always with toys, of course. It seems like this could easily be the case. There could be a food drive next year, books after that, then possibly weapons, and maybe one year entirely devoted to piles of dung and rotten footwear.
