Or... well, just plague in general. The latest MME surprised me since, you know, plague isn't exactly a family-friendly topic, lol. It really inspired me to think of something based on that, though.
Out of the blue, I thought of something for the Wibbly-Wobbly collab that involves pre-war Meridell during their time of great famine and sickness. What sorts of cures do you think would be NT-friendly (as well as disease symptoms)? I thought to go the Neoflu route since it's something I can cover in some detail without getting too intense.
I'm going to have two physician characters (among others. Still brainstorming heavily right now). One of them is a true Medieval physician who tries to use the science she knows to make the best, more logical decisions. The other is going to be a plague doctor who creates "cures" to help the patients get over the flu.
For Rohesia (the true physician) I thought of this:
I thought of Blechy-letting (so having leeches remove "bad blood"), herbs and spices in hot water as a way of cleansing the body, increased fluid intake, isolation from other sick, maybe even a salt/water mixture to swish in their mouths or something.
For the plague doctor... based on some stuff I've seen, they can do some crazy stuff. Here's a few I thought of based on what I've read:
Crushed rock power (consuming pure, unspoiled soil... that the purity in the stones would remove the impurities--based on feeding people crushed emeralds), feeding them dangerous chemicals such as arsenic and mercury (which I can always just rehash as Neopian chemicals and the like),
and of course... tying a Wibreth to the heads of patients (http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/broughttolife/themes/publichealth/blackdeath.aspx)
The tying chickens to the sores of plague victims "cure" baffles me. It really does.
