Carolyn said to post here... I thought it up yesterday... has it been done in the NT yet? A comic about trying to come up with a comic for the nt 50/00... a few pets sitting arond a table like that meme and they are like, "We need a good idea for a comic for the neopian times 700th (is it?) edition"
and someone raises their hand and says, "What about a comic in which the protagonists are trying to figure out what the 700th issue of the NT should be about?"
And the director/boss has a look of brilliance like, "That just might work."

I know there have been comics where an artist has writer's block right before a special issue, or they mention submitting for a special issue and how they're going to do it, but I don't recall any comics following that exact script. Usually it's that they try to overcome their writer's block with an intentionally bad joke, or their pets try to convince them that there's more to life than NT special issues. They don't directly mention their writer's block being an interesting subject. I'd say you could go for it.

And the director/boss has a look of brilliance like, "That just might work." I'll preface the next paragraph by stating that though I don't remember specific ones offhand, it's definitely been done before, at least without the distinction for special issues. Comics about protagonists trying to come up with a comic idea aren't as frequent as Healing Springs snowballs or King Skarl or Hagan liking and disliking weird statements, but it's still a premise that's been done a lot (at least as far as I know). Also, special issues tend to have a lot more competition than regular issues, if that's specifically what you're going for, and on top of that, it might be less acceptable for the Times if you're basing it off the meme (use or reference is often okay; playing out an established meme with Neopets characters is a little dicier). However, it's still good comic material, especially if it's drawn well and you put a twist on it (for example, adding recursion and then subverting it, or having some sort of character interaction that goes beyond just "let's come up with a comic"), so go for it if you feel like doing it.

Well, it'd be drawn a lot better than the meme... I wanted to have better angles and a moment of awkward silence... It is obviously a trope that's been done... but I feel like if it's drawn well enough it could stand a chance? Especially if the only thing I take from the concept of the meme is that it's some people sitting at a business setting... I will look more into this idea (recursion) as someone else suggested it ^^ I know I intended to have all the characters react and everything... but not obviously have one thrown out of the window or anything. I'll sketch it out and post it here before I go through the long times of colouring it and what not... see if people can give comments and ideas to improve it there too!

It's definitely the sort of script where drawing can make or break it. I can see it working well if you play it over the top: get a bunch of seriousfaced executive types and one thoroughly large ham boss. This way, you could also have one of those seriousfaced executives making the suggestion as a sarcastic joke and the boss takes it at face value.
Posting a sketch is a good idea, anyway ^^
