As you walk along the path toward Birdy's haunt, you wonder what sort of treats she'll have this year. Last year's were... rather lackluster, but you decide not to think about that. Instead you think of what wonderful chocolatey goodness she'll have this year, and--
Oh.
Oh, dear.
That doesn't look good.
Not good at all...
As you finally reach Birdy's tree, you can now see that it's nearly-bare branches are completely covered in toilet paper, and has it wrapped like a ribbon around it's trunk as well. It appears someone had some fun recently...
Upon reaching the trunk, you find a small sign tacked to it. Leaning forward, you read it.
Underneath the note, you find a simple set of directions. After a quick memorization, you decide to try them. What harm could it cause? After one last brief glance at the toilet paper wafting in the breeze, you leave to find this place Birdy suggested.
You finally arrive, and glance at your surroundings. You hear voices coming from inside, and strain to hear them as you stand outside the door, wondering whether to not to knock.
"You don't know where the ginger candy went, do you?"
"Nooooooo..." comes a young man's voice, in a drawn-out reply.
"...The longer the no, the more likely it is I think you're lying, you know."
"Okay. 'No'."
"...Still not convinced."
...If candy is going missing, perhaps it's best to knock now rather than later. You knock on the door and wait.
"I'll get it!" The voice of the young man again, accompanied by the sound of a something scraping the floor and running footsteps.
The door swings open and you find yourself looking at a grinning, green-eyed blond-haired boy.
"Hi!" he says cheerfully. "Are you here for some candy?"
"That, or they're selling magazines," comes the sardonic reply. You glance towards the voice and see a black-haired woman, her hair pulled back into a ponytail, standing behind a kitchen counter.
"You said that's what this night was about," the boy said defensively, turning to face the woman. "Going from door-to-door, asking for candy..." he glances past you, out the door.
"Don't even think about it," the woman warns, wagging a wooden spoon. (With a quick sniff of the air, you determine she must be making some sort of goodie to give out.) "Theo already bailed to go harass Bardsley, and I am not going to deal with all these people on my own." She pauses, as if only now remembering you're standing right there, and glances over at you. "...No offense," she adds, then quickly turns back to her confectionery exploits, leaving the young man to greet people further.
"I'm Arthur," he introduces himself after turning back to face you. "And the sourpuss behind the counter would be Ms. Hermia Smith. So, can we get you anything?" he asks. "We have some candy, and I think Ms. Smith is making something out of rice that's crisp and marshmallows?" He shakes his head. "She hasn't let me try any of it yet - something about me being too hyper-active - but I bet it's really good."
So? What'll it be? Candy? Or perhaps some freshly-made confectionery goodness? Or something else altogether? The choice is yours...

Out exacting my revenge. If you're looking for candy, try here:
