Oh, hi! So um, about the treats this year... No no, I didn't eat them all again, I promise! See, I had the candies all packaged up in these cute little treat bags. I spent all of last night putting it all together. but when I woke up this morning, they were all gone - All of them! ...but no problem, I've employed a friend of mine to help make up some new and even more delicious homemade treats for everyone! "I'll try, but I'm making no promises, here." Good luck and Happy Halloween!

A young woman with white tipped brown cat ears sighs and smirks from her place volunteering at a library in another dimension. "Alright, y'know what, I'm busy at the ref desk, but this trick or treat house is so lonely so far so I'll send someone less busy to keep you guys company. Go say hi to your friend's boyfriend and his writer Morgaine."
The catgirl shoves a one-eyed old woman in Killix and Kirin's direction, and the old woman sighs. "I suppose this is the part where I say Trick-or-Treat?" Morgaine smirks a little. "Nice getup by the way, Lord Kirin."

"I suppose this is the part where I say Trick-or-Treat?" Morgaine smirks a little. "Nice getup by the way, Lord Kirin." Oh boy, our first guest! ... is... an old lady? Maybe it's a very convincing costume, or... Ah, nevermind! No one's too old for treats, I say! Kirin, did you finish making those ghost brownies? Y'know, the ones from that magazine clipping that I showed you earlier? "Oh... well, yes but-" Great! Let's see... ... This is supposed to be a ghost? "Well, they didn't exactly turn out like the picture. I think I burnt them a little..." *facepalm* Well, I'm afraid that we don't have anything better at the moment. Maybe you can eat around the burnt parts. :/ It might taste better than it looks? (but I wouldn't get my hopes up) *Kirin blushes a little* "Morgaine! I um, wasn't expecting to see anyone... familiar... tonight." *Kirin runs his hand through his hair nervously* "Killix made this costume for me. Please don't tell anyone back home that I wore this..."

The elderly locksmith accepts the "treat" with a sigh. "I suppose cooking isn't in the usual run of things nobles learn how to do, hm? Don't worry Lord Kirin, I won't mention this to anyone... but knowing our writers and their perverse sense of humor I might not be the only familiar face you see today."
She shrugs, putting the brownie into a small leather sack. "Best of luck with the rest of tonight, my lord. I have a feeling you're going to need it."

Tiger is walking along, dressed like a very spiffy pirate, swinging her candy bucket - then all of a sudden, there’s someone walking next to her. This happens often enough that Tiger isn’t too surprised, but she does go for her cutlass. When you’re an author, you have to be prepared for possible character vengeance any time. Leif looks less like a hawk ready to peck out Tiger’s eyes than usual, however - in fact, he looks rather pleased with himself. Tiger knows this leaves behind a very small list of things that might be on the mage’s mind, and she rather hopes that it isn’t “I’ve found a way to become truly corporeal and turn my author into a newt!” “Good effort, Tiger, but I can read over your shoulder. I know whose house we’re near.” “...Uhm. You do?” “You were going to tell me, I assume.” Leif’s tone makes it very clear what answer Tiger needs to give him. “Oh, yeah, of course I was! I just...didn’t want to make you walk the whole way. I’m always thinkin’ about your needs, Leif!” “That is a rotten lie and you know it. But in the spirit of...uhm...’Hall-o-ween’,” he pronounces the holiday very carefully, “I’ll forgive you.” Tiger pauses. “...If we’re really gonna be in the spirit of Halloween, you need a costume. Like me!” Leif eyes Tiger’s pirate garb. “...I think I’ll be fine.” “Nope - author’s veto. You get a costume.” Tiger rummages for her pencil, and with a flick, Leif’s current attire shifts into something different. 7 ((Sorry for craptastic cell phone picture, scanner isn’t working - uh, I mean, it’s haunted, wooOOooOOoo!)) “Congratulations! You get to be Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon!” “I’m who from what now?” Leif holds up the plush creature that had appeared under his arm. “...Is this a dragon?” “That it is!” Tiger beams. “Don’t you think Kirin would like a dragon?” “But - but why - “ Leif gestures at the costume. Tiger’s expression rapidly darkens. “Look, mister - I was gonna dress as Hiccup, but I got too sick to make the costume, so you’re going to wear that and like it, or I will dress you up as - as - as a rabbit!” she decides at last, with an emphatic jab of her pencil. “A pink, fluffy, long-eared rabbit! Or worse - I’ll send you to play around in Bad End for a while!” “All right, all right!” Leif throws up his free hand. “Let’s just go, can we?” Tiger is instantly all smiles again. “Yes, let’s! C’mon, Killix’s house is right this way!” With a spring in her step, she heads for Killix’s door and knocks. Leif comes up the steps behind her, tugging at the collar of the shirt. Tiger shouts, “Trick-or-treat!"

BAD KILLIX.) "I'm afraid so. Cooking is definitely not one of my talents... I just hope that I don't make anyone ill." I can't wait to see all of your friends, Kirin! 8D This is going to be the best Halloween! "Thank you, Morgaine. If good luck is seeking companionship tonight, I welcome it with open arms." (snip) “Yes, let’s! C’mon, Killix’s house is right this way!” With a spring in her step, she heads for Killix’s door and knocks. Leif comes up the steps behind her, tugging at the collar of the shirt. Tiger shouts, “Trick-or-treat!” “...Trick or what now?” *flings the door open* Happy Halloween! Wow, great pirate costume, Tiger! and your friend looks... kinda familiar, too. I have no idea what you're supposed to be, but that plushie makes it a winner. Hey Kirin, we have more Trick-or-treaters! (Kirin walks in with a tray) "I tried something new, I hope they're better than the brownies- ... Ah!" *Kirin sees the trick-or-treaters at the door, and suddenly hides behind Killix* Oh come on, their costumes aren't that scary! Anyway, here you go- ... Ew Kirin, please tell me that you didn't cover potato garlic perogies in chocolate. ._. "They're pies!" Oh yeah, I could tell... that was a test. You passed. *whispers to Tiger* (Take small bites first) "H-Happy Hall-o-ween." *Kirin peeks over Killix's shoulder and points to Leif's Toothless plushie* "I like your costume."

All of three circumstances would likely be required in order for Coaster's arrival to elicit a negative reaction:
1. He would need the coat, scarf, and hat of a serial slayer or overall costume of an innocent dinosaur rather than just a head. 2. Any of the characters in the vicinity would have needed to meet either said slayer or said dinosaur before either's untimely demise, and the latter two would need an ability to appear as a ghost, in order to approximate a proper haunting. 3. Coaster would need to be doing something slightly more offensive than walking with dat swag.
None of these circumstances were met, but Coaster still thinks he's being scary as he goes up to the door, makes his declaration of trick-or-treat, and points his rainbow gun at each of the guests in turn, settling on the dragon plushie and dagnabbit he knew he forgot someb
He's using a box with a half-eaten pizza inside to carry his candy, for some reason.

Wow, what an excellent... space dinosaur pizza delivery man...? So creative! So, which delicious treats do you have for such a fine effort, Kirin? "Oh, just a moment, the cookies should be appropriately cooled by now." (Kirin slips into the kitchen, and returns with a tray of cookies) Oh, cookies! Can't go wrong with- Oh. "I've noticed that these little orange candies are a popular treat during this Hall-o-ween celebration, so I baked some into a batch of cookies!" ... and just when I thought that I didn't have any of those awful things leftover from last year's Halloween. That's uhh... Well, I hope you like ancient candy corn, Coaster! *puts a handful in Coaster's pizza box* Bonus: Typos almost had Kirin describe candy corn as "little orange candles" It really wouldn't have been such a far-off description.

If you would be so kind to provide me that treat." Woah, that's an amazing Hollow costume! "I could be mistaken, since this is my first Hall-o-ween, but I think they're supposed to be Death." Oh... *scratches chin, squints* Nope, I don't see it. Anyway, let's see what delightful treats we have for you tonight! Hey, not a bad candy apple! I like how you gave it a Halloweeny touch by colouring the candy green and decorating a spider web effect with icing! "Thank you! It was actually pretty easy, I melted a big pot of those green candies you had in the cabinet, and for the spider web design, I used that can of icing you had in the refrigerator!" Green candies? but I told you that all of the Halloween candies went missing... ... You melted down my cough drops, didn't you? ._. aaand I'm pretty sure I don't have any canned icing. "Uh, well... the label sure made it look like icing. It had a cute little picture of a cow?" That's spray cheese! "You can spray cheese?" *shrugs and sighs* Oh well... thanks for stopping by! I hope this treat cures your sore throat, at least!

A faerie trots into the house. You're not quite sure how she fit through the door; she's covered in leaves, she has a sign reading "NOT A FAERIE" hanging on her back. It's probably a prank someone played on her.
She happily sits down on the nearest surface. "Hiya!" she says. "Do you have any candies? I can trade you!" She holds out a little wrapped chocolate bar. "I brought them for- emergencies- but I've been lucky so far."

Sure, we can trade! Kirin? Kirin! "Killix, the second batch of cookies are... well, I want to say 'done', but that's not quite the best word to describe them." Well, they can't be worse than the last- Eugh. Well, it's pretty scary at least, perfect for Halloween. I think you used the wrong cookie cutters, though, gingerbread men are kind of a Christmas thing. "I'm sorry... You didn't have any other cookie cutters, and I was in a bit of a hurry." I can tell. >_>; Well, happy Halloween, talking bush! *holds out the awesome cookie* Now, about that chocolate trade...?

"Thank you, Kirin! ...I'd tell you what exactly this is supposed to be, but I honestly don't remember what Tiger told me it is." (Tiger opens her mouth to repeat it, but Leif waves a hand in her direction to brush her off) "Your costume is very nice - very fancy! Did you make it?" He glances at Killix a little warily. "Do you need help with cooking?" "Oh, nice," Tiger mutters around a bite of her treat. "Abandon me, your beloved writer, for your boyfriend." Leif looks rather pleased with himself again.

"That's okay, I'm not entirely sure what my costume is supposed to be, either..." You're wearing Kirin Armor, isn't that hilarious!? 8D "Uh..." *At Leif's costume comment, Kirin begins to play with his hair absently* "Ah, thank you! I didn't make it, though. Killix had it ready for me, I'm not even sure where she got it. Writers have their ways, I guess. If I had made it, I would've definitely filled it out a lot more, it's a little... breezy." Help? Nah, Kirin's got it all covered... maybe. *leans in and whispers* Okay maybe I do, how good are you at making candy out of nothing? I'm a little short on most of the necessary ingredients. Hey Tiger, if they wanna stay here and hand out candy, it's fine with me! That leaves us free to go off and score a lot more candy for ourselves! ;D "You'll bring some back for me... right?" We'll see.
