So in the spoiler is my newest article and I would love someone to tear apart the grammar, punctuation, and tell me what you thought about the article. It been awhile since I wrote and this was a little difficult (which annoys me immensely). This will hopefully be a two part article. I have yet to write the second part but I will notify you when I do. I have divided it into two parts because I was having trouble picking my favorite spooky petpets (being a big HW fan and all) so I decided to make two part article and probably a supplementary article on Meowclopses. Also, I am not sure if I should add an ending giving that there will be a part two. Let me know what you think about this (as well if you simply think that dividing the content into two articles is silly)
Anyway tell me what you think I should keep/change.

Spooky Petpets, Haunted Woods - Have you roamed Neopia like I have, lonely, with no companion to accompany you? Do you constantly wish there was a companion by your side? A Petpet perhaps, to hold in your arms as you walk the treacherous paths of the Haunted Woods, hoping with each step you take you do not awaken a Werelupe, Witch, Warlock, or monster? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then I highly suggest purchasing a Petpet from the Spooky Petpet Shop.
Whether you are a Draik, Mynci, or Xweetok, or a flyer, swimmer, or runner, the Spooky Petpet Shop has a companion to match your lifestyle and your adventures. From Meowclops to Meepits, Baby Fireballs to Zomutts this guide will help you find your perfect Spooky Petpet and I, Jadriar, also search for a new companion.
Baby Fireball
Many Neopians would not consider the Baby Fireball to be a spooky Petpet. After all, other than its scorching hot body, it is a cute, loyal, Petpet. “According to legend,” said the Spooky Petpet shop owner, “The Baby Fireball flew down to Neopia from the sun, it’s original habitat.” Upon asking why it might do this, the shopkeeper replied, “Not to sure, but most Neopians say its because the Petpet wished to live in a cooler climate.” Thus, due to its warmer disposition, it prefers to eat warm foods, such as stews and soups. Since, this Petpet’s body is constantly at a minimum of sixty-five degrees Celsius, it is advised that the Petpet’s bedding, toys, and home be fireproof, as well as it’s Neopian companions. The Baby Fireball prefers the company of Magma or Fire painted Neopians and tends to avoid water or swimming Petpets.
Bearog
The Bearog is one of the more peculiar Petpets in Neopia, however, the shopkeeper had the most affectionate statement on behalf of this three headed Petpet. “Yes, the Bearog is a little freaky, and it’s three heads seem to do nothing but argue, but this Petpet is by far one of the best Petpets to cuddle with,” she said while cooing at one of the Bearogs in her shop and scratching it behind it’s ear. “These Petpets are also great for sniffing out danger,” the shopkeeper said. In addition to its cuddly personality, this Petpet is very easy to feed—berries being one of its favorite foods, which are easily accessible around Neopia. Furthermore, it prefers a soft bed much like the Scarabug Petpet Bed.
Blorpulous
While I was on the search for a Petpet with the abilities to sniff out danger and treasure, I also wanted one who might sit upon my shoulder and snuggle beside me in the wilderness. Well, Blorpulouses do just that. According to the shopkeeper, this Petpet is an delightful little companion for any Neopian looking for company. These Petpets will stay attached to you, they will not wander off, nor will they hunt. There feeding habits are fairly easy, their primary source of food being gnats, worms, and berries.
Calabat
“While the Calabat can not actually fly,” said the Spooky Petpet shopkeeper, “It can glide from tree top to tree top.” At this, she took a Calabat out of its pen and placed it high up on a shelf. After the adorable little Petpet wandered through the shelf, it spread its ears, and glided right down to the floor. It was an alarming, yet magnificent sight to behold. “The Calabat prefers the company of other flyers,” the shopkeeper informed me as she placed the Calabat back into its pen. “Because of this, I try my best to pair these Petpet’s with other flyers such as a Draik, Pteri, or Shoyru. They will get along fine with other pets, but they prefer someone they can glide through the air with.”
Chumablah
While many Neopians like, cute, cuddly, Petpets, I was a bit more interested in the dangerous and scary type – seeing as Biasha, my voodoo-loving witch-doctor sister, would taunt me for the rest of my days. Since we were, after all, in the Haunted Woods, I was privileged to see some of the scariest Petpet’s in the region, such as the Chumablah. “This Petpet looks scary, however, it can not really sneak up on Neopians like other Petpets due to it’s long claws always clicking against a surface,” the shopkeeper of Spooky Petpets informed me. “The Chumablah also prefers fish,” the shopkeeper said. “Don’t ask me why it likes fish—it just does.”
Dribblet
For me, this Petpet was by far the most adorable, if tongue-looking, Petpet I had ever seen. Picking up this little pink guy, however, was less favorable— in fact, it was slimy, and it gave my entire wing a large lick leaving my feathers secreted in drool. Upon seeing my face, the shopkeeper laughed and said, “One thing is for sure, you will never loose a Dribblet. They are slow and leave large trails of drool everywhere they go.” With this, I also learned that, like Slorgs, they need constant hygiene control for not only the Petpet, but also your Neohome. “Just remember,” the shopkeeper informed me as she placed the Dribblet in a bucket of water. “They need constant hydration and thus it is best if these Petpets avoid dry, arid places.” With knowing that, I said farewell to the small Petpet farewell, knowing that my adventures may well bring me into the Lost Desert for extended periods of time.
Droolik
As if the shopkeeper had organized the Petpets by amount of drool excreted by the Petpet, I then happened upon the Droolik pen. This Petpet was not so outwardly slimy but still drooled. “You know,” said the shopkeeper, “I always worry about this species. I can never tell if it needs food, water, or sleep because all it does is sit there, drooling and starring out of its pen with those large eyes it has.” I was informed, that while this Petpet looked dashing against Grey painted Neopians, it be best that it lived with a happier Neopian due to the Droolik’s already depressing demeanor. In addition, the shopkeeper suggested spoiling this Petpet with extravagant beds and toys. I knew I would not be able to provide such luxury, given my meager writer’s salary, and thus continued to the next pen.
Gangee
Gangee’s are by far the lowest maintenance Petpet in the Haunted Woods. “They eat just about anything,” the shopkeeper told me. “The only draw back to this is that they tend to chew on furniture and they have bad indigestion.” I considered adopting one of these Petpets. Surely, chewing on furniture would not be an issue. My family’s home was deep in the woods, closer to Bog Shot Swamp than anywhere residential. However, while the Gangee seemed practical to all of my wants and needs in a Petpet, it simply did not seem like the one.
Ghostkerchief
“These little pranksters will hide in your pockets, knapsacks, and satchels, waiting for the opportunity to scare you,” said the shopkeeper as she pulled one out of the pen for me to hold. It was a lovable Petpet with big yellow eyes; however, I knew, he too, was not the Petpet for me. As I placed him back in the pen the shopkeeper told me, “I have yet to discover what this Petpet eats, in all honestly. I’ve been in correspondence with other Neopians, but they all give their Ghostkerchief free reign of the environments around them so they too have never seen a Ghostkerchief eat.”
Gnar
While we do not know what Ghostkerchiefs eat, we do however know what Gnars eat, and that is just about everything. “This little guy,” the shopkeeper said as she struggled the wrestling Petpet into my arms. “Will eat anything and everything in the most violent noises and ferocity, I have found it best to put them carrying boxes during feeding time.” As I examined this Petpet, I concluded that the only other Petpet similar to this one’s eating style was a Drackonack.
Marbluk
As the shopkeeper and I roamed the aisles looking for my new companion, we arrived amongst the Marbluk’s a cute, if diseased, looking Petpet with three eyes and horns. I was hesitant at first to pick up the Petpet due to yellow dotted skin, but the shopkeeper assured me it was fine. “It looks diseased,” the shopkeeper said, “but we don’t think it is…” I learned that the Marbluk is a lesser-favored Petpet of the Haunted Woods due to its delectable face and bucked teeth. It enjoys a vegetarian lifestyle, another opposite to the residents of the Haunted Woods and prefers all sorts of Neopians as long as they, and it, can laugh together.
