As usual, have another art dump. I feel like I do these once a month now but...life. 8D; So, colour first... This is sort of Medieval-related and sort of Flight Rising-related. It's artworks of Medieval characters done as FR dragons so it counts as either or. It's also the first work on this thread which is a collaboration. Shinko did the lineart, I did the colours. Fae dragons in FR are tiny whereas Imperial dragons are huge. Hence me and Shinko thought it would be funny to have Sieg sitting on Alain's nose. And in case you are wondering, Alain-dragon and Sieg-dragonI shaded Corrin, yay. ^^ *pinches his cheek* Who is a cute widdle ship-obsessed shy nerd? :3 And back to the usual sketches. Song challenge sketch for Tiger. ^^ I was given the task of drawing Chamille to a song of my choosing. The song is sadly very hard to find on Youtube because boo, hiss, copyright, but it is "I Do" by Ilaria Graziano. I picked it because the idea I had was for when the twins are saying goodbye to each other after Chamille is going off to Solis. It sounds sad but hopeful so it fits the mood...I think. Tried to do a design for a Seelie fae. I am not sure I like it but I'll put it up anyway. >> The idea was to have a vaguely androgenous looking being in very fancy, flouncy skirts. It is also supposed to be hovering. Might redraw this. I drew it in the company of a lot of noisy people so brain was not working too well. >> More art of Alain in armour, because I can't stop drawing them. Albeit this one is probably closer to what he wore in the war. It has a helmet and helmets are important, even if they hide the pretty hair and face. =/ Had an idea to draw Roslyn in a dress with a rose motif. It turned into her wedding dress. I hope you approve, Evvy jr. Llyr, because the world always needs more Llyr. Casually swinging on ropes with the wind in his hair. I bet you anything that was his first voyage on the Mistral. More FR-related things with character-dragons. In meta-chat with Shinko, we joked about Seamus turning into a dragon. Something was mentioned about Isabelle accidentally attacking him before things got explained. The role reversal of the knight defending the dragon from the lady was too funny to resist. Finally, an illustration from a fic I did. Specifically Gone at Sunrise. I dunno why but it was always a clear thing in my head. I wanted to draw it. Also, I eternally curse horse anatomy but I think this came out okay? So, yeah.

So, I know it has been a while. Sorry, uni happened. I shall hopefully put more art up but I need to figure out how to scan things without the uni library. For now, however, have stuff. To start with, a character design: Aven Perlino, Earl of House Perlino He's coming along. But I wanted to draw him because I like figuring out what characters look like when I write them. And ALL of Isabelle's kidlets. From left to right: Emil (1317), Roslyn (1319), Viletta, Gwen (1322), Ahern (1324) and Ennis(1330). This would be around 1334 so you can figure out their ages from there. Not pictured for obvious reasons, the 1320 dead baby. Maura back when she was a peasant, with doge. Doge is called Quill. Originally called "Quilt" by her brothers because he looks patchwork, Maura prefers Quill as it's a less stupid name. Speaking of Maura, a map of her home town. \o/ Why no, the Stallion hunting lodge right next to her village isn't important at all, why do you ask? Went to a talk about Scotland and Scottish poetry, had to keep my hands occupied. The logical thing was obviously to draw Ivar. Ivar sings and he sings nicely. Abby loves it. ;D And now for squick. Rylan-related squick (I swear it is SFW) Rylan being a creeper to Issie, with angry Hector in the background. Rylan is also smaller than them, which amuses me. (And also, have a tag Elcie . Even if you don't want it.) Finally more flirting, this time a bit more...innocent. Though Xavier, I am sorry. So you know how Ambrose is said to look like Alain and Ilsa finds the latter attractive..? Ilsa, plz never get drunk around Ambrose and mistake him for Alain. Especially if Xavier is present. (more tags to Elcie , yay)

Oh look, I'm back, hi. I lost access to library scanners because I graduated so I had to find a replacement. But the replacement gave me a lot of trouble. 8D; So, after much wrangling, I return, with a large backlog of arts. ...and I start with something that did not need to be scanned. But I did a colour ref of Maura. She loves her fancy dresses. Also did an emblem at the request of Shinko Nid'Aigle! I went a little bit nuts with the vines, to the point where the emblem in the centre looked a bit plain. So I gave some texture to the bark. I also did this as a request for Tiger as a thank you for proofreading my massive Absolon-fic. She asked for Leif and Absy in colour. I did this. Just archmages and their constructs. Also, I keep forgetting how short Absolon is until I draw him with other characters. Speaking of Absolon, so Elcie noted how the song Rabbit Heart sounds like it relates to him and his fic. I took the concept and ran away with it, by making a comic with lyrics. (Spoilers for Bringer of Spring within.) Aww yeah, it's big. I was so proud of that frame with Absolon and Cebeline but subsequently hate the next two frames because they just don't look as good. Sorry. It's not the only multi-panel thing I did. So way back when, PFA drew Jade Lords reacting to Zachary Jade, the unholy Jade/Stallion child. I said I would do Stallions reacting. Well...eventually... I hope you all can read my handwriting. If not, I'll provide a transcript. Also, my favourite reactions are Alain and Emil. Just sayin'. Speaking of Jades and Stallions, just Patrick and Lachlan. Patrick took his wedding planning a bit too far. I think this comes from Skype at some point. I think there were discussions of Patrick and his wedding planning habits, then a discussion about him and Lachlan and then, somehow, Patrick fitting Lachlan for a wedding dress happened. The dress is Maura's, and I am sure she is off-page laughing. *casual tag to PFA * Sorry Lachlan. Here's him with his babies.^^ Cute mental images strike me and never let go. Obviously Ambrose and wittle toddler Alain. And then the Stallionbros grew up. More Stallions! Well, actually, a Stallion I never drew before. Since I inherited Kristy's characters, I thought I would do references for them which she had not done. So, Aveline Stallion and Ewan Boovean everyone. ^^ They are so cute, and I do love drawing people dancing. Illustrated a scene from Kristy's fic Dancing through Life. Also, a comparison between Isabelle and Aveline. You can see who took after mummy and who took after daddy. Actually did a couple character designs lately. First have some mysterious spoiler not-so-brooms. Two of the happiest kids you have ever met. ^_^ I mean, of course they'd be happy, they're Langeans. And another one. ...He is bae. But whose bae, now that is literally a story for another time because it isn't finished. In less spoilery terms, drew Ranumgen, because I got randomly inspired (heh). Would you trust this man with your life savings? Emperor Sebellius, the charming emperor of Meltaim, for Avery . May or may not have been inspired by Snape. >> He wears a lot of silver but I cannot show it because black and white. Maybe someday I can be motivated to do a colour reference. Since I been writing them a lot, I drew lil-Lindsey and Hector. I promise you, Lin, you'll love the annoying chatty ginger someday. Lindsey's mother, Vivian. Lovely woman, kind of has a very soft spot when it comes to her kid. And...I drew a fairy back in March. I was not happy with it. Have some redesigned fairies, which I promise are relevant to things I am doing. May have mentioned that one of the Bernian Houses, House Perlino, is cursed by a fairy. Here is the curser. Had a lot of fun with her wings and dress and...everything. The "vines" are actually embedded into her skin, more like filigree than anything. And the eyes and ears are those of a lynx. Not all fairies look human though. They can take on any form they please. Here is another fae. She's called Emhir. You'll meet her...briefly. Eventually.

I love 'Rabbit Heart'! That comic made me a little bit sad though- poor Absolon! :-(
I love all of this, really. <3 Even since I started lurking this thread just last year, you've improved so much at dynamic poses. Aveline and Ewan look amazing here!
And I love the Lief and Absolon piece- which probably goes without saying given my massive soft spot for mages. :-P

Oh, look, I'm back. I seem to disappear for months and then reappear again. To be honest, I've not had a lot of motivation for drawing lately. I think I'm just busy and Hero City takes up a lot of my spare time/energy (I will make a special art dump of that art at the end of that game though, so sorry, no HC art here. Just the usual Medieval.) I got a new small sketchbook and was stuck on what to draw to baptise it. So I draw Alain, because why not? Did not intend to make him look like he's greeting someone. That happened by itself. Also got some perspective practice in the arm, with mixed results. Mayes in his monk robes, along with another monk who will play an important role in a story I am vaguely plotting. A friendly, slightly hyperactive and far too curious for his own good kid who is fascinated with legend and mythology. A hard worker, he is the personal assistant to the chronicler of Roan Abbey. However, he has very little common sense and not much respect for authority. He was raised in the monastery his entire life after his parents died of illness, hence why the other monks put up with him: he doesn't have anywhere else to go. He has a personality and a backstory but no name. TELL ME YOUR NAME. (I will take suggestions. Seriously) Birdy had an idea what if all the Ascension lords had portraits of themselves done with the bird of their name. So I drew Heron...with a Heron. He is trying to look majestic but birb. (Coming soon...Nebula Condor.) A sad, drunk Xavier with woob-dad. A companion to the drunk-Ilsa art from waaay back. I just wanted my fix of woob dad and woob son adorbs. ;.; (casual tags to Elcie, by the way) Was casually listening to Hamilton soundtrack and this happened. Since "Wait for It" is on the list of songs for Everett, I thought it was appropriate. (Sorry for the bad quality, I have no idea what happened there.)(Also a casual tag to PFA) Decided to do a complex scene with Langeans, because...I dunno, I thought the mental image was cool and the composition practice was nice. I already mentioned the royal sirins, the birds with human faces that are used by the tsars to call the northmen to war, right? It was back in an earlier art dump. But yes, this is what it looks like when one comes to the village to deliver the message. Also have a typical northman village. Finally, get ready for a broom attack! Tiger and Shinko made knight squads, now I am getting on the action, because I am unoriginal and inspired. Also because these guys made me go "what about our squad?" So, have the Stallion knights. And I have bio information for them too! From left to right: Solomon Lister, born 6th May 1291 in Destrier. The son of a physician and a midwife, he helped a lot with his parents' practice and so developed good medical skills. His squad rely on him for first aid. He is highly stoic and ever calm under pressure, something which scares his fellow knights. He became a page around the age of 8 as he came from a respectable family with connections to House Stallion and his parents thought him well-suited for knighthood. (Fun fact, his surname comes from the inventor of anaesthetic. :3) Ossian "Kitten" Glen, born 25th October 1291 in [some town in House Sabino's lands]. The son of a wealthy mine owner from the Sabino lands and nephew to Earl Elgin Sabino on his mother's side. Because of this connection, he could not become a knight in his native House's territory and was thus sent away to become a Stallion page, then squire and eventually, knight. He is a cheery, excitable young man who acts much younger than he really is and is eternally playful, playing games and pulling pranks on his fellow knights, something which has earned him the nickname "kitten" to Hector's "puppy". Another reason he has that nickname is that he is small, fast and very good at hiding, which makes him pull duty as the company scout. Despite his noble and wealthy background, he is relatively nonchalatant about it. Finian Grey, born 5th January 1291 in Tersk. The son of a tanner, Finian's family died of hunger and illness during the siege of Tersk to retake the city by Kythian forces during the second Langean war. Even before that, Finian had been injured by a drunken Langean mercenary breaking his nose and scarring him. He was taken in by the local church and raised there until a knight came in looking for an apprentice. Having witnesses so much tragedy, Finian volunteered. He still has many psychological scars from his wartime experience, causing him to sometimes be withdrawn and snappy under pressure. He has odd habits that grate with his comrades such as never wasting food, Finian is still a good person who can be heroic and self-sacrificing, even to a fault. Due to him being raised in a church for a while, he is highly religious. You guys already know Hector and Lindsey so I won't bore you. =P Gail Tallach, born 10th November 1291 in Destrier. The only daughter of the head groom of House Stallion whose wife died in childbirth, Gail was the apple of her father's eye. He permitted her to do whatever she wanted and so she often spent her time on exploration and athletic pursuits. Wanting a better life for his daughter and having her utilise her skills, her father called in a favour from a knight he knew to take her in as an apprentice, despite the fact that she was a girl. Though small, Gail is nevertheless very nimble and even if she is not as strong as her male comrades, she can still match them in combat. Though she has faced some sexism, she takes it in her stride and responds to it in good humour. She overall has an excellent sense of humour, if rather bawdy sometimes, to the point of embarassing the other knights. She does it on purpose. Nevertheless, she is tough and it is difficult to faze her, even if she at first seems sweet and innocent. Hugo Weir, born 4th August 1291, Tersk. The son of a knight himself, who also fought in the Langean wars, Hugo admired his father and wanted desperately to be like him. After the war, Hugo became a page with the Stallions on recommendation from his father. Since then, he has lost some of his enthusiasm but is still easygoing enough, though he can be slightly aloof and thinks he knows more about the knight business than the others. Him and Finian did not know each other before they came to Destrier and the two either agree or disagree on their perception of the war. He has a soft, protective spot for Gail and Ossian. BUT WAIT, there's more! Bernard Donague, born 25th April 1291, outside Destrier. Bernard was forced into the knighthood by his father. This is because Bernard's father is a knight himself and as a reward for his service, instead of pay, was given Stallion land to steward over. The condition that comes with that, however, is in order to keep the land in the family, one of his sons has to be a knight. Favouring his oldest son, the father piled the burden on to Bernard despite his reluctance. Though a good person at heart, he is bitter and angry at how his sibling has all his life been treated better than him and openly hates the service, refusing to bond with his comrades and disparaging the ones who became knights by choice. Captain Merlin Fyfe, born 24th August 1274. A man who served as a Stallion page, squire and a knight as well as a veteran of the second Langean war, Captain Fyfe has only recently been promoted after training up his own two apprentices to become Stallion knights. He takes command of his own unit now and puts on airs of being a serious, no-nonsense commander. In fact, he loves cute things and can be a massive sap, but he would sooner die than let his men find out.

I've been bad about scanning stuff. Also life has been lifey. But here is stuff I have done. =D Getting my non-Medieval art out of the way first. A picture I did as a gift for Shinko of her FR dragon, Anri. I suppose this sort of counts as a Medieval picture, given that dragon!Anri is based off elf!Anri? Regardless, here is the official art for comparison. :3 A broom from something I am working on at the moment. He is called Ives. He is fun. He is wearing the livery of a Stallion servant but you can't see the badge because of his darn arm. I am also quite sure they did not have books that small but he suited one. Ambrose, or rather a younger Ambrose if he got his hair cut, got a shave and wore nice clothes. He actually looks pretty great if not for the whole "crippling depression" and "lack of self-worth" thing. A picture of the resident nerds of Medieverse. Don't feel so bad, Cyril( PFA), Corrin (myself) and Seamus( Shinko), I will get my commuppance when Alain bullies me plenty. Also I am a massive nerd. Drew the Medieverse pegasi, or rather a single pegasus, as based on their description in the Macarinth worldbuilding fic with Deacon and Ludwig. I based their body off an Akhal-teke as they are very wiry horses, and the wings are falcon wings. Hope this matches what you imagined, Avery, ShinkoAbsovar with Ivar giving Absolon a piggyback, because I need no excuse to drew these two being adorable. And Snowflake is there, telling the two to hurry on up. >| Cat has no patience for affection unless it is given to him. And finally, a silly series of pictures. On FR chat, when breeding Woo-dragon, there was something about the Woo being suddenly very chubby. Not sure why. But I decided to draw the very devout characters reacting to a chubby Lord Woo. Absolon. For him it's shock: he did not expect the Woo to be like this. Leif I think Leif's arm is getting tired (I don't know if you can tell but he is supporting his Woo-holding arm with his other hand.) And a casual tag for TigerFrancis Francis does not react well to the Woo being different as he imagined so it must be a demon! Woo is disappoint. (Character belongs to Terra, though I dunno if it's worth tagging her due to lack of interest) And Phyllo. Phyllo had the presence of mind to offer him noms. His god ended up looking most undignified. ( Shinko, who I tagged far too much in this dump) Other people I wanted to include with the Woo were Everett, Angelo and Wynn Cressida but did not do due to lack of ideas, lack of funny in the idea or lack of ref image.

I think it's safe to admit I have a very bad scanning problem. Some of these drawings I did before Christmas and I only got around to scanning/processing them now. But to my surprise, I've actually drawn a fair bunch. Though a lot of it is fairly simple...anyway, let's get on with the dump. First up, Margot and a little baby Aveline. Not much comment here, just wanted to draw Margot with Aveline, since that's something that comes up a lot in a fic I'm writing at the moment. Continuing on with the theme of things with smaller, cute things, have a Cyril with pupper. *casual tag for PFA* Sandy is basically drawn as a mini-Nutmeg, yep. And breaking from the theme, Shinko suggested an older Alain finding a raggedy Bonny the sheep and... Yep. I dunno how clear it is but I headcanon she is full of holes due to Ambrose's time powers destroying the poor thing while hugging her too hard during visions. </3 I actually drew Alain a lot (probably because I've not been writing him enough and need to keep my memory of him fresh/keep him happy.) So I was writing a scene and having a hard time visualising him so I drew it. And ended up putting so much time and effort into that chair, because lol, I get bogged down in details. But this one I drew just because. *shrugs* Again, no comment, just...sometimes I draw my characters without context or reason. Mostly Alain. Quick backstory for this one: back when Guilds were a thing, my forum persona was head of the Mages Guild. Now I almsot single-handedly run the non-magic House. The irony was not lost. Transcript: "So, Miss Celestial...Archmage of Dunbarrow now are you?" "Erm...that was a while ago!" What can I say? Alain still enjoys being a jerk to me. 8D Hey, speaking of jerks, a while back I did a portrait of Heron with a Heron. Now I did a portrait of his dad, Condor. Tag for BirdyCondor is the nicest person, just ask her. While we are on the subject, I did a portrait of Ashley. But not just any portrait... Featuring an appearance of his waifu, Alana. =D Who is being included in fic soon. Their relationship is happy. Well, Ashley is happy to have such a pretty waifu to show off. Alana is...umm... But not all Stallions have bad relationships. Hectorbelle grabbed my brain with cuteness and refused to let go. Very saccharine. I am sorry...except I'm not. I also have fun headcanons that Isabelle likes putting on slightly more risque dresses just to see his reaction. xD Especially between the period of their engagement and their wedding. Issie is a tease. And finishing off with Absovar doodle which is just pure cutes, because those two also own my brain. I said in the chat I had a brief moment of panic when trying to figure out whether I had left out Absolon's right hand or not. Thankfully I did.

I have been drawing, I swear. I just have not been scanning it, because I am lazy. Hopefully I can manage to process a scandump at some point. In the meantime, have the commission* I did for an IRL friend of me, her and another mutual friend with our daemons (if you've read Northern Lights, you'll know. They're basically avatar animals) at a Moroccan-style market. It took me a month and it is A3. I hope you can see why it took me so long. Actually select "view image" to see it in full size. But the scan, I feel, does not do it justice. She loved it, for the record. * More like "hey, can I borrow money off you?" "Yes, sure, but you can pay me back in art."

Oh look, the promised scans. And there are...a bunch. I'll probably divide this into a two-parter. Next art dump will come tomorrow! First, Wrighton. That's happening soon, and look, I did art for it. My own character, Fionn, who I've talked about so much that he needs no introduction. Pretty excited to write this lazy, chubby, puppy of a man. There's also Alexis, who is Gelquie 's character and is a complete contrast to the above. T-shirt design is "generic outdoorsy t-shirt" design. I also based her facial features on Cleopatra, because GLQ wanted her to be Greek-looking and Cleopatra was the only Greek-looking female person I knew I could get a good reference of. Since I lost my job in February, I have gotten into a game called Fallen London. It's a pretty fun, story-based browser game set in Victorian times but in a...very different location. Originally I was just going to play myself but then character sprung up. Behold the Lieutenant. The game doesn't mind if you wear suits or dresses depending on your gender so she became a cross-dresser. Originally a soldier on the Surface (London in this universe is a mile underground for story reasons), she came to Londo to escape attempts on her life and is currently enjoying herself and the opportunities Fallen London brings. She loves the finer things in life, is confident as all heck but is also insubordinate and perhaps a bit too freewheeling for her own good. She also has a moral compunction to do the right thing, even if it costs her. And now back to my usual Medieval sketchdump... Though not without introducing new characters. I don't know her name but she is a future antagonist in an Absolon story I am plotting. *points to the knife on her belt* Yep, she's one of those people, but in a mountain clan, which is...different. :3 Fun fact, I started drawing her in an inn in the Highlands because I was too ill to go hiking that day. Speaking of Absolon, have a picture of him, Ivar, Jarle and their pets kicking butt. =D Pillow does not randomly disappear, that's just Ivar's cloak. Also, he looks like a tiger due to the stripes, whoops. xD; (and casual tag to Shinko ) More Absolon, this time with the fairies! I got inspired by "Playing With The Big Boys" from Prince of Egypt and had to draw something to accompany the song. This is another one I drew on my aforementioned sick day in the inn in the Highlands. Hope you're okay with the design of Daihmin, Shinko ! I did them based on the description in the fic. (Also, Emhir wants to strangle Absolon.) I can't remember who suggested this (someone on the Medieval chat. Come clean. >_>) but it continues my long, proud tradition of drawing my characters in romance novel cover poses. If you can't read my writing, Absolon is saying he is very uncomfortable with this. Also, Ivar, where are your trousers? >_> What are you doing without trousers on a mountain, man?! And finishing off with sillies, have Cebeline with Ranumgen. "Cebby, don't be like that. I think you're tree-mendous!" Cebeline does not like puns. Also Ranumgen is a kookaburra. I think he loves that form because of the laugh. Like, listen to this and tell me you can't hear Ranumgen.

I love kookaburras, not least because they eat snakes. Can't you just see Ranumgen in kookaburra form nabbing a snake by the neck, then flying with it to the nearest convenient tree, then bashing it against a branch till it dies? Of course, I don't really know Ranumgen so I could be reading him wrong, but...

Actually Ranumgen, does not take blood sacrifices, and his priests abstain from meat, since Ranumgen can take the form of any animal. He is, however, a troll god. He would turn into a snake-eating animal to try to provoke the snake...or turn into the exact same snake, either mirroring its movements or attempting to seduce it. xD

Ahh, very intriguing and I thoroughly approve of the concept of death and bloodshed being outside the sphere of influence of the god of random chance I must get around to reading Medieval one day, but it's a lot of reading y'know... I did start once, but only got through about day one - some fascinating characters introduced there though!!

The god of storytelling is the blood god.Ranumgen never appears in Medieval proper...or in much of the extended universe, come to think of it. But you should read it. =D It was a blast to write and it's got a lot of twists and turns, plus yes, some amazing characters.

So, uh, as you might notice, next art dump did not come "tomorrow" on the 16th of June as promised. 8D; Mainly because Postimage went down and I lost access to my uploaded images so I waited for it to come up. But it refused to. So eventually relocated to imgur, but even then, procrastination is terrible. Until now. I did a bit more Wrighton art! Firstly, my avatar of Fionn, in colour! Based his pose on Epic Sax Guy, because I had him before as my avatar and could not stand to see him go. The hotel manager and owner, Ms Maggie Chayka. Long sleeves are long for a reason. And the most adorable (and most drawn) kidlet in Wrighton, Esther! Thanks to Dormouse for modeling the eyes and inspiring part of the outfit! I wanted to draw Esther in a slightly dynamic pose. Anybody else walked on the short stone fences which marked lawn eadges? Just me? (And a casual tag to Shinko ) And more Medieval art! Because I can never stop. I drew Hector's parents, Lewis and Skye! I feel like Lewis is the dorkier of the pair, though nowhere near Hector's level. He is also the one who the offensively red hair came from. I headcanon Skye as having strawberry blonde hair. She is also more serious but still likes the dorky. Ascended physician broom from a yet unfinished/unpublished collab. I don't know his first name but his name is Dr. Kelly, and he is a dry man who takes no crap from anyone. Speaking of taking no crap from anyone, have Dionysis and his Ascension bride Veritey Fulmar. She is quite stocky and jealous. Dio was probably looking at some lady on the side before he got caught. And yes, ear-grabbing happens a lot with those two. More Stallion ladies! This time it's Maura and Margot, who I think develop quite a cute friendship, despite age differences and personality. I'm sad it only lasts a few years though. </3 And speaking of cutes, had an idea of drawing lil-Stallionbros with animals. So here's Alain interacting with a kitty... The body type makes me think he is a bit older (10/11/12) in this but it does not fit his personality when he was that age. I imagine it was a moment of weakness brought on by the cuteness of the cat. ...and Ambrose interacting with a doggy. Doggy based on an Irish Wolfhound. I imagine Stallions have similar hounds to it: fuzzy and huge. And they got older and stuff got worse. 8D Can't say I'm fond of this one because of all the empty space but eh. >> I drew it forever ago. Finally, because of the talk about the Macarinth/Valzaim/Lange alliance against Meltaim and the war, Feo's been a bit active in my head. So I drew him on his throne. The Carved Throne, as detailed in this fic is what he is sitting on. And artist-me hates writer-me for making it so elaborate and detailed without ever thinking about how I would draw it. >>
