Ahoy, NTWFers!
So, I got the following message from the PC judges:
Dear Carolyn or Sakura,
Thanks for your submission to the Poetry Contest. We've received a lot of really great entries for this latest edition of the contest, but unfortunately, only a limited number of people can win at a time. Though your entry may not have been posted this time around, we encourage you to not give up and keep on trying.
Thanks for entering!
^ Not sure if this is a TMGE sort of scenario or not. Should I resubmit? I wrote up a silly poem about Dr. Lancelbrot (or however you spell it, lol).
It probably needs some revision, buuuut.... here it is:
They say I’m insane,
A scholar like me!
But my dearest Neopians,
How could that be?
I’m a Lutari of SCIENCE,
A spreader of wealth;
My fair inventions
Have bettered your health!
For why can’t you see that I’ve done you no wrong?
Come listen, I implore, to the mechanical song.
That’s all that you’ll hear in my humble abode,
So pull up a chair and enter some code!
It’s all in good fun I’m sure you will find,
I’m a Lutari of SCIENCE, one quite sane of mind.
For you see, my dear reader, what looks like mere trash,
Give me a moment; it’ll take but a flash!
The gears will start whirling in mechanized play,
Inventions will happen, just give me a day.
In random accord, I’ll make but a part,
Of wondrous machines, take three for a start.
In seven days time, no more and no less,
I’ll fix your events, now please don’t you stress!
And yes, while you rest, I ask that you stay,
Help me create, I won’t lead you astray.
For how could it be that a Lutari like me,
A scholar, inventor, machine devotee,
Could practice mad SCIENCE,
When I’m filled with such glee?
I'm far from a poet and feel my poetry skills are lacking, but... I really want to have that trophy in my collection (and to enjoy doing the poem in the mean time, lol). So, thoughts, my writer friends?
