In a quieter section of Tabloid Town, where the explosions are usually only heard from a distance, there is a small library. It has an oak tree out front, and on the side of the wall a simple metal sign reads "South Tabloid Town Public Library."
On this particular evening there are a couple of pumpkins sitting on either side of the walkway leading up to it, and a sandwich board on the sidewalk reading "Kids Storytime Tonight!" The lights are glowing warmly from inside the building. Why not take a look inside?
As you open the door, a woman rushes forward with a pumpkin-shaped bowl of candy. "Welcome!" she says, holding out the bowl. "We've just started another story- you're welcome to join us if you like. Oh, but I understand if you're just on your way by." As she speaks, a picture solidifies- isn't this that old lady from the papers, one of the people who'd been stuck in the mansion the night Mr. Woo died? It was all over the news. But she's no longer a murder suspect, and from the sounds of things there are several impatient children somewhere wanting to get back to the story.

"STORY TIME IS THE SUPERIOR TIME OF THE DAY," says Dalek Ted, entering. It finds a space on the floor, shoving a couple of kids to the side in the process.
"I AM READY TO BEGIN."

Coaster takes a piece of candy and thanks the woman quietly. "Stories are fun. Unless they're the ghosty variety, but it should be all fun anyways!"
He sits down in in the midst of the group in his ridiculous costume, receiving several disconcerted looks from children nearby, but nonetheless eager to hear the story continue.

"Thank you!" Lizica takes a piece of candy and peeks into the reading room. There are some odd people in there besides the children, but surely anyone who came to listen to a story can't be all bad.
"What's the next story called?" she asks as she folds her legs on the carpet and cheerfully munches her candy.

The woman grins at the newcomers and follows them back to where all the kids are sitting. She sits on a stool and pulls out a picture book.
"Now, the little goblin was just looking around for a nice place to spend Halloween. He tried the vampire party, but they were all transformed into bats and none of them wanted any candy.
So then he went on and tried to join in with the monster mash! Sadly, the monsters were all too big! He had to run out right away in order not to get stepped on!
Finally he decided to visit his friend Greta's house, just to see if she was home. And she was! And their friends Gary, Gisele and Greg were there too! They decided to have their own Halloween party, and shared all their candy together and had a wonderful Halloween night."
She closed the book and nodded at Lizica, smiling. "I'm not sure. Does anybody have a favourite Halloween story?"

GLQ enters just in time for the story to go on, and she quietly sits down in the circle with the kids. Hey, she figured, it might be fun. She particularly liked the illustrations in the picture book. They were quite well done.
Taking some candy from the candy bowl, she looks towards the others. No Halloween stories immediately sprung to her head, but she wondered what other stories there were going to be.

"Luvdisc!" Luvdisc arrived just as a story was ending, but she's eager to hear another one, so she takes a bit of candy from the bowl, saves it on her bag for later, and takes a seat on the back. Luvdisc wants to hear more about this place, so unlike where she comes from, so she waits patiently for a new story to begin.

"It looks like we have some more new faces- Put that book down, Mr. Peacock." Minerva shot a warning glance at Snaw, but decided to continue her storytelling. Smiling, she picked up the next book in the pile.
"All right. This one's about a submarine!
Once upon a time there was a young girl named Carly. Carly was the daughter of a scientist, and had lived all her seven years in the small oceanside home she shared with her family.
One night, Carly couldn't sleep, so she crept outside to where her father's submarine was floating and climbed in. The motion of the waves was calming to her, and she thought she'd stay in the submarine until she grew tired enough to sleep.
When she got inside, however, she had another idea. She thought she'd go on an adventure. She had seen her father operate the submarine many times, and decided it would be easy to do it herself. She sat in the pilot's chair and turned on the machine...
Something went wrong. Carly began to panic as the submarine sped aimlessly deeper into the ocean. She was just about to cry when she noticed a glimmer of light ahead. Intrigued, she leaned forward and let her grip on the controls slide.
Outside her window was a marvelous underwater city! Dozens of creatures swam by, long green people like frogs, carrying lengths of seaweed or chipping barnacles off the building walls. One particularly large one swam up to the front of the submarine and peered inside at Carly.
"State your business," he said loudly. Carly could hear him easily. She told him, "I'm lost! I'm very afraid, I don't know how to use this, and I'm not supposed to be down here!" His expression grew kinder. "Miss, I can help you get home. But if I do, do you promise never to use technology you don't understand again?" Carlie promised sincerely. The frog-man swam off for a moment and came back with several others. Working together, they helped push the submarine toward the surface and propel it to shore.
It came to rest just a few metres downshore from where Carly had found it. When the hatch opened and Carly's head poked out, her father came running. "Where were you, my girl?" he asked, very concerned. So Carly told him exactly what had happened- except the part about the city. "You should never have done that!" he said. "But I'm glad you're home." He hugged her, and the two went back inside the house together. And Carly never drove her father's submarine again."

Coaster grabs onto the nearest child because apparently he really needs a hug. Sobbing is audible through his mascot head.
"It--it--it's too much! She almost DIED!"
He lets out one last muffled wail, and chimes in cheerfully:
"Can we, like, watch Lion King or something instead? You never see anyone die in that one!"because mufasa totally gets up like right after and goes to space and goes all cloudy
He attempts to start a childish angry mob arguing the merits of video-watching over story-telling.

Birdy hurries inside. "I love stories!" she beams, plopping down in the back, so she won't block anyone's view with her proton pack. She doesn't see any candy, but she's fine with that. Because stories.
