...is what the sign read. You have your doubts, however, as you make your way down the hill. (Seriously, what kind of haunted house stands at the bottom of a hill?) Through a gap in the trees, you see flashes of brightly coloured lights behind what looks like stained glass windows. Wait, stained glass? Seriously? The narrator has to be kidding you.
Anyway, you approach the door of the house, which is a lovely little two story cottage with a thatched roof, and the stained glass windows depict all manner of nerdy sci-fi references. As you reach for the knocker (shaped like an ouroboros, naturally), an eerie scream issues from behind the door accompanied by creepy organ music. Maybe you'd be better just to enter, or perhaps turn and leave this mad place before the narrator opens the door for you...
...Oops, too late. However, the organ music fades and a drum fill takes its place. What in the...? You turn round and see some short androgynous figure in a black suit and green opera cape dancing erratically to... GHOST BUSTERS? Nah, that must be a cover version.
Uh oh, you've been spotted!
"Oh," the person eyes your costume. "Wait, is it Hallowe'en already? Oh man, I need to get changed!"
Before you can say anything, the person is dashing out of the room, yelling behind them,
"Help yourself to pumpkins - there's loads of them out the back! Oh, and keep an eye out for traps."
You are now alone in a mist-filled room. (It seems they left the special effects on. Ah well, nothing like a bit of fog and lasers to set the mood. And it just wouldn't be Hallowe'en without the Ghostbusters theme. Even if it is a cover.) Now you just have to find your way to the pumpkin patch, perhaps sneakily raiding some cupboards on the way. Hopefully those traps they mentioned were purely of the mouse-sized variety...

Coaster pauses to take in the sight of this short dancing figure. "Well, at least it's not 'What Does The Fox Say'..." He steps inside and checks for deadly laser arrays before continuing.

Wow, the house seems a lot bigger on the inside than it looked. There don't seem to be any deadly laser arrays, only the non-threatening kind used in various musical or theatrical displays. You can never be too careful though. There appears to be a laptop sitting behind one of the large floor speakers.
There are also numerous doors, as well as a spiral staircase. It's hard to see in this fog though.

Coaster is most definitely striding up to the laptop to crank some tunes. He settles on something just retro enough to be from the age where electronic music existed, but mostly reserved for video games and remixes. (Of course, he intentionally leaves the original Lavender Town theme out of the mix.)
...except there's no converter between a 1/16" headphone jack and a standard speaker cable. Darrrrn. Coaster attempts to jury-rig something with whatever cords are available, ducking behind the speaker to see his options.

Oh! It seems you've discovered the source of the fog! A small dragon stares up at you with big dark eyes. Its scales are bright blue in colour, and a furry mane extends along its back. It's sitting on top of a cardboard box labelled "control centre". Weird. All the cables seem to be leading into it, however. You also notice a small toolbox sitting nearby.

Luvdisc blinks a couple of times to adjust to the mist. "Luvdiiiiisc?" she asks, wondering if there's anyone else around. She could have sworn she heard footsteps, but perhaps she was imagining them. She takes a few steps before tripping on something. Oops. Perhaps that was one of the traps she had to watch out for!

What's this? It appears to be a tube of smarties! The narrator has no idea how that got there, and so decides to move on.
In front of Luvdisc are several doors, a spiral staircase, and a large sound system, behind which can be heard the sounds of someone tinkering with the settings.

As Coaster pulls on the far end of a cable that looks promising, he feels a vibration come from the other end and presumes that he must have unplugged something.
Nonetheless, cardboard boxes are well-known to have an innate power regardless of their humble exterior--at least to five-year-olds with sentient tiger plushies--and the dragon sitting on top must only amplify it. Which is good, because the first thing that will need to be set up when the sound comes on is an amplifier.
Coaster takes a screwdriver from the toolbox and exposes the speaker's circuitry, then connects a plain conductive wire from the speaker input to the 1/16" headphone jack in the laptop, making sure to route it through the box in between. He turns on the power...

"HELLO GOTHAM, JOKER'S BACK IN TOWN!" shouts the speaker. You're just about to switch it off again and try something different when the music you selected finally begins playing. Success!
So, now that you have selected an appropriate soundtrack, what will your next move be?

Coaster heads toward the set of doors and opens one at random, hoping it leads toward the pumpkin patch so he can make some pie. Or at least roast the seeds and hope they don't burn horribly this time.

Beyond the door, cold stone steps lead down into darkness. Maybe you should try another door, unless you are foolish brave enough to descend.

Azzie looks around. "Wow, this place is cool!" She decides to go look for the pumpkins- not because she particularly wants to eat one, but because pumpkin patches are fascinating places, and she hasn't been to one yet tonight.

Birdy approaches the house, but stops in her tracks upon hearing the music. Taking quick action, she whips out the nozzle to her proton-pack and begins to use it as a guitar, singing along to the music. "Who ya gonna caaaaaaaall...? GHOSTBUSTEEEEEEERS!" She then launches into an elaborate guitar solo at the end of which she drops to her knees and bows her head dramatically. She then gets to her feet and sheaths the nozzle, knocking on the door of the house as if nothing had happened. She then wanders though the mist, humming the Ghostbusters theme as she searches for the pumpkin patch.
