It has been a long trek but you finally reach the high tower atop the cliff. Upon closer inspection, it is not made out of pearl or marble as you thought but more like ordinary stone. It's still pretty enough but just not as...grandioise. You wonder whether it was worth coming here or if it really contains a dragon's hoard.
Normally, high solitary towers have only a single window at the top which contains an easily climbable rope and is not kept shut, even when it is snowing or raining, something which you think must drive up their heating bill so much. But this tower is covered in stained glass windows running all the way down, which while pretty, do not lend themselves to be opened easily without attracting considerable attention and ire from the owners of the property. When the property owner is rumoured to be a dragon, it usually isn't wise to attract their ire.
But as you keep walking around the tower, you discover a nice wooden door. It is carved with dragons and maps of continents, none of which you recognise, all swirling around a brass doorknocker in the shape of a dragon and a tiger. Deciding this is all very strange, you nevertheless use the doorknocker for its intended purpose. The sound it makes can be described as homey.
"Just a minute!" a friendly voice calls from inside and the door is shortly opened by a young woman in a purple robe. She looks normal, until you notice her eyes and her wings. Either she takes halloween very seriously and is a master at making realistic costumes or those are her actual eyes and wings. Is this the dragon of legend? Sure, there are normally young women (of royal birth, usually) in a dragon's hoard but they aren't the dragon, most of the time.
"Oh hello," she exclaims cheerily, not aware of your musings. "Are you here for treats?" she hauls out a large sack of various sweets, including chocolate coins and colourfully wrapped candies. "I've got plenty, help yourself! Have a happy halloween!"
Oh well. Maybe you should have at least some of the dragon's hoard. She's inviting you after all. And maybe there is treasure and a proper dragon inside...
