So, I've pretty much decided my NaNo, and I should probably make my board so that I can lock it in and say, 'This is what I'm doing'. I'm pretty sure the storyline I've got is going to be a two or three parter, though, with this book being the first.
This, like Kill Mission, has been bouncing around in my head for a few years now, and has finally reached the point where all the little details, like people's motivations, are finally as clear as they ever get prior to actually writing. So, I think I'm going for it.

I've mostly decided mine, but it's something that I've been plotting/fiddling with for a long time, mostly as a (very long) short story. I'm not sure there's quite enough to make it to 50k words with the plot/characters I have so far, so I'm going to have to spend October inventing more

I intend to attempt YWP Nano again this year. I like writing quality so 50,000 is not very feasible for me, but I'll probably set for 15,000 (I usually get close to 5,000). It'll be another trial at writing my high fantasy story, which currently is only a single chapter long in this incarnation.

So uh, I logged into my account today and found out I have 48 unread messages. Most of them are pep talks and regional news, but some of them are from as long as 2 years ago. My question is, is there any way to select them all and mark them as read? The only option I see is "delete". D: I don't want to read them all right now, but I didn't want to delete them either, and the notification that I have so many unread messages is driving me crazy. Do I have to click them one by one to get rid of that? XD;;

I just clicked them one by one, but that would be a bit ridiculous with 48 messages, yeah. XD; Though the site seems to be extremely glitchy in general for me right now, so hopefully they'll be fixing stuff soon. >_>

So, do you guys have any good character quizzes saved? I found a good one or two on the NaNo threads last year, but accidentally. I can't find any this year. I have part of one, which I did for Cylie. But I deleted some questions that didn't work for her, so I could use it again, but I'd like a full one.
And by character quiz I mean the ones were you answer questions like 'What did you eat yesterday?' from the character's PoV to flesh them out.

I dunno if this is exactly what you're looking for, but I once posted a list of most of the questions used in a guessing game thing I have on my site, which I've found to be a fairly effective method of character development. It spans the range from mundane questions to silly questions, so it's fairly all-encompassing, I think. :B The list is here, btw: ntwriters.proboards.com/post/2544021

Birdy also sent me some. The problem with finding ones this year v. last year is that last year my characters were set in a slightly futuristic earth like world. This year is high fantasy/sci-fi and half the questions on any given quiz can wind up unhelpful since the answers would be 'What is this pizza you speak of?' or 'I don't even know what chicken is, but I'm told everything in the universe tastes like it.' XD

Actually now, some of my characters are answering that question in their own ways. Several of them are telling me to stop asking them to do stupid things, and another is describing it something like a cross between big bird and a phoenix. XD

Hey, guys. Is there a way to be alerted when someone has updated their NaNo thread if they are only editing the first post?

Well, hello, fellow writers!
I'm in a bit of an interesting situation for NaNo this year. I originally wasn't planning on doing it, but earlier today my co-author mentioned that he wanted to try it (he's never done NaNo before) as a way to spur him to get to work on the next draft of our book.
That being said, this year's NaNo is going to be rather unconventional for me. I'm writing it with another person; we're not writing completely from scratch; and the current draft is far more than 50k words, so we're pretty much just going to see how far we can get by the end of the month.
Soooo yeah. That's the plan so far. I'm really glad I'm not in this alone, because between school and work and personal writing projects I definitely wouldn't have the time or energy for a solo NaNo. Still, should be a fun and interesting project.

So I quite literally have no ideas for what I could write. Not even just no plot, no characters but no ideas. Unless I get some kind of idea by November 1st, I'll probably drop out. I'd rather not (and I'd feel awful if I did) but that is how it is.
So...concepts? Inspiration? Motivation? Angrys shouts of 'give up'? Anything is welcome at this point. <3
