@joel I adore RWBY and RVB. <3 Speaking of which, new series of RvB started today! Expect me to update this post when I have watched it. =P As for RWBY; I like Weiss best out of the main four, and I think I want the figurine of her when it is released. My least favourite is Yang, but she's my friend's favourite, and his least favourite is Weiss. xD Pyrrha is my fave character overall though. ^__^ I also really want to cosplay Velvet buuuuuuuut I'm probably either going to cosplay Layton and Emmy with the aforementioned friend, or something from Starkid with another friend; at the one cosplay event this area actually has. =P EDIT: RvB: season twelve When they're creeping along the corridor and keep passing Caboose...that bit was priceless. xD
Also, the return of the sniper rifle jokes. Yay!

I've personally only watched a bit of RvB myself, but some of the parts I've watched are hilarious. xD Not to mention seriously awesome thanks to Monty. Hehe, my favourite of the main four is Weiss too. In terms of design and battle style anyways. But I love all the characters. I can understand why people don't like the show; there are very blatant flaws. But the way I see it, that just means they have just as much room to improve with it. ^__^ I like to think of this as the equivalent of RvB Season 1. And look how far they've come with it now! So, uh, have you seen the leaked Volume 2 opening?  Monty gave the OK on people seeing it, but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. Anyways, as gifts for this thread, I leave you two things. RvB is seriously flawed as well, but I still love it. Both shows are still awesome by me. x)
Weiss' design is fabulous and I love Myrtanester.

* Myrtenaster x3 Mmm, maybe, but it was a bit ambiguous whether she was actually one or just supported them. Same. :v Do so! It's a really high quality fandub. I'm looking forward to their other episode dubs. It's just a shame that they didn't dub (part of) Weiss's trailer, Blake's trailer and Yang's trailer. Edit: Monty knows. xD |

Geez, I was so caught up with finding out that the song was released and then the opening being released as well yesterday that I forgot to check here for everyone's reactions. xD
The opening itself is so much more dynamic than Volume 1's. I really love it. As for Time To Say Goodbye, I like it just as much as This Will Be The Day. The shortened version doesn't do it justice though. The bridge in the full-version is amazing; not to mention incredibly foreboding, but heck, the whole song is.
They're really putting a focus on Pyrrha in the opening, aren't they? Thrashing Team CRDL all on her own... I wonder if the color filter there means anything? I like how Jaune and Pyrrha's gestures have been reversed from the previous opening. Hopefully, Jaune's strong enough to support her through her own personal demons now. She was also shedding maple leaves. What significance do they have, I wonder?
Speaking of Team CRDL, one very curious thing I've noticed is that, unless I just missed him (which I probably did), while Cardin, Russell and Dove were with everyone during the sky-drop and landing sequences, Sky was absent. Unless it's an error, are we going to have a traitor while the rest of the group redeem themselves?
I also like the little parallels with Team RWBY's personal opponents in the intro. Mercury's fighting style seems to be focused on kicks à la Melanie as opposed to Yang's focus on punches, Emerald has her symbol on the back of her clothing like Weiss, Torchwick is, of course, discriminatory to Faunus with Blake clashing with him as in Black and White and Ruby and Cinder are of course, as of right now anyway, the main protagonist and the main antagonist respectively.
I'm getting very curious about Ozpin's past and motives now as well. Here's hoping he isn't revealed to be a total villain or something like that. Making him a complete antagonist would be a bit much unless they justify it quite well. I hope Penny's faction doesn't cause too much strife in the show as well. They're definitely going to be at least morally grey I would think. Not to mention how uncomfortable Penny looks to be with them. On a side note, I like the shout-out with the red and blue guards.
I can't wait to see all of the new characters get properly introduced. x3 I'm hyped. With Junior and the Malachite twins coming back now though, I'm really curious as to how Adam's going to make his eventual reappearance in the series... I also wonder if Emerald is (by blood or by adoption) a Malachite. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. At the very least, she's probably someone associated with their family.

I would actually be a bit miffed if Pyrrha had too many demons. I liked how independent and strong she was in volume one.
Didn't notice the maple leaves, actually. xD Maybe just a pretty effect?
Ugh CRDL. Can't stand how stock-character-ish they are. Certainly hope they get more depth in this next volume!

Emerald is a fan name for the green (haired?) lady, right? Who is Mercury though?

Oh right! How could I forget about that? x3 They also released a version of Volume 1's opening without the credits, if anyone would be interested in that. Personal problems aren't necessarily a weakness. Although yeah, I hope she doesn't have a ton of angst either. I didn't notice them either until someone pointed them out on Tumblr. There were immediate jokes that Pyrrha was now Canadian and that explains why she's so nice and was annoyed about Nora eating the maple syrup for Ren's pancakes in Forever Fall though. xD But in all seriousness, who knows right now? Only the RWBY crew do. Same. They're the official names of Cinder's two partners. ^^ Monty revealed/confirmed their names when he posted a cosplay of Mercury on his Twitter and when he helped out by providing a reference with someones cosplay of Emerald on Facebook. SAME. I consider myself lucky I can usually resist the pull of merchandise though. Usually. ;xD |

Mercury and Emerald are awesome names! So glad they're official names.
Thankfully I have friends and family who like the same stuff as me, so I can try and get some merchandise for my birthday maybe. xP
As it is, I'm thinking of getting my brother the RvB "Future Cubes" top. Grif is his favourite, he already has "Born to Take it Easy" and "Red Team" shirts.
