Yeah, I think the problem is that going from five seasons of ever increasing drama and action to something that(at least initially) is much more reminiscent of early Blood Gulch is such a big shift that it's quite jarring.

I loved Blood Gulch Chronicles! But it didn't even seem like that, to me.
Then again; I watched those series on DvD; so slow episodes or whatever didn't bother me so much. xD

Soo, the season finale of RWBY came out. Now to sit and wait for the next season >.>

There is a contest going on to design Velvet's battle costume (and emblem)! There is this template, and one can enter five different outfits if they like.

I was super excited to do this, until I realized that I'm four months short of acceptable age to enter a drawing competition for a character I relate to .  I do intend to cosplay as Velvet, and it would be really cool to dress up in a costume designed by a NTWFer. I know we have some artists here, so I bring this.

Observations from stalking the entries:

1. Uneven hemlines are used excessively.
2. She is most often drawn with boots.
   
3. She often has leg coverings under a skirt or tunic, etc. shorts,  thigh highs.
   
4. Not all of the submissions use red. Those that do often have flame tones, black, or brown.

The story of the Velveteen Rabbit:

1. The bunny is a  previously crude plush with button eyes.
   
2. There is a faerie that makes the bunny real.
3. The bunny is brought alive through the power of love
   

Monty's description of Velvet:

1. She has a modern taste in fashion.
   
2. She prefers to dress modestly.
   
3. She is a mage, with special powers valued by her team.
4. She is quick on her feet.

Ideas I can't use since I'm a child:

1. Patchwork. I was going to give her a patchwork skirt with reds and browns. No one did this that I've seen.
   
2. Ballet slippers, the kind with the winding ribbons. She seems like a dance battler; they look cool. Seen once.
   
3. Flowers. I was going to dress her up like a forest sprite. I don't remember seeing this much.

Velvet is a pretty neat character. I wanted to know more about her since she only appeared a little XD

I like Velvet. I don't know much about her but she resounds with me on a personal level. I think it would be very cathartic to see her kick butt.
