((I thought this was dead :U))
Miraja and Ashlynne began to follow Xandra. Suddenly, a lean, roguish Skunk Zafara materialized out of the shadows.
"Xandra! Did you miss me?" The Zafara grinned.
"Oh, great. Sirocco." Miraja rolled her eyes. "Don't tell me you and Xandra are still together..."
"They are." A voice with a Meridellian brogue echoed through the chamber, and a tall White Lupe clad in armour strode in and hugged Miraja.
"Hunter!" Miraja gave her fiance a hug. "What took you so long to get here?"
"Skarl had me doing a lot of errands." Hunter sighed. "And it looks like everyone else is here, as well."
"Yeah, yeah, that's great and all, but since you're here... I just came here to see Xandra before I went off and did some business." Sirocco unsheathed his daggers from their hidden sheathes under his sleeves and twirled them. "I was hoping you guys could come along, you know?"
The other three nodded.

((I...think they're at the castle now? Correct me if I'm wrong ^^))
Storytime had not been part of the walk, but at least they'd made it to the castle without Xandra spinning about with a bawdy 'muahahaha!' and turning the whole group into mortogs. She hadn't even tried to lead them down a dark alley.
The palace was big, bigger than any building Rhigor had ever seen without being covered in ghosts. A few hung around the grounds, true, but they seemed to be haunting things like rosebushes and statues, and none seemed to be watching the guests with malice. Some ghosts just didn't want to move on. Others were probably just painted ghost.
It didn't seem like the party had started yet, and Rhigor doubted he'd pass as anyone helping to set up the place, except maybe as part of a drill to weed out any undesirables. He'd seen Saeryennan-the-mystery-princess talk to the Bruce guards, and when he wasn't arrested within a few minutes, Rhigor decided she'd given the academy gang permission to enter.
Pretending to gawk at the statues, Rhigor wandered toward the gardens. Between the rows of plants stood a tall Lenny with red eyes and a glowing gray-green aura. She was stared at a dented watering can half-hidden under a rosebush, sniffling every so often. Rhigor hated to see a lady in distress.
Plus, her outfit looked fairly similar to that of the living pets milling about elsewhere in the garden. The Lenny might have some relevant information about Saeryennan and Xandra...and maybe whatever ghostly business was going on here.

((Yup, we're at the castle))
"Sirocco!" Xandra squealed in joy. She certainly hadn't expected to see him. She hugged him. Just like Hunter and Miraja, the two were engaged.
"Sirocco," Xandra said, "I'm here with a rather odd group of people. Do you know the other Xweetok? She came here with us. Also, a ghost hunter is here. He doesn't trust me. There's also the ghost of a Xweetok who Saeryennan thought was a wraith. A couple students from Katare are here too."
Meanwhile, King Altador was searching the castle for Rhigor. He soon saw the Lupe his daughter had described out in the gardens, apparently talking to thin air. Saeryennan had said the Lupe hunted ghosts, so he was probably talking to one.
The King opened the door and called to Rhigor.
"Sir!" he said. "My daughter has informed me that there is some information you wish to know. Have you found what you are looking for?"
In the ballroom, Saeryennan announced Mima and Schala. With a wide smile, Schala walked down the stairs at her sister's side.
Suddenly, the ballroom doors burst open, and an Earth Faerie with a bow across her back strode in.
"Where is the King?" she demanded.

When Baron peeked from under the dessert cart, his head was overflown by the sight of the Altadorian Ballroom. It was probably the biggest one he had ever seen and very likely he never set foot in it in life, but the sight of it was nostalgic nonetheless. Guests were being announced as they strode down the stairs in pairs, including lovely lady Schala and Marina...or was Myrian?
"her name is Mima! It's Mima! Go look for Rhigor, he's not here, we need him!" his sanity screamed , sounding more like a whisper despite it's efforts. "Leave this place, go hide somewhere else!"
Manfred, ignoring the constant mumbling inside his mind, drew his fur back and tried to look a bit more presentable. Should he assume a military pose like he was taught in youth? Or just be himself? Who was he again anyway?
The xweetok stepped out of the cart unnoticed and walked towards Schala. He held her hand and gave his typical cheshire smile, "We need to find you glass shoes, my lady! You look just like lady Clarabella in that blue dress, oh wait, Ciiiinder...Ella...no wait, Cinderella! Yes, that's her name!" he laughed nervously while guiding her to the dance floor.
"Forgive me for not being...dressed appropriately for this occasion, but it looks like ghosts can't bear hats in their heads. Pity, I really like hats!" He said nervously, trying desperately to hold his tongue. As they swirled and turned the room felt wider, darker...

The four heroes reached for their weapons (or bookstaff, in Ashlynne's case - she just looked up from reading her favorite spellbook at that moment), and readied themselves for a fight at the sound of the doors flying open.

((Juuust for future reference, I don't think Rhig ever told Sae he was a ghost. I see he mentioned it to Mima and Schala, though, so I'll assume one of them told Sae. Just trying to keep continuity clear ^^))
Rhigor settled by the Lenny, regarding the rosebush. The ghost gave him a passing glance, but a moment later, her eyes turned to him again, suspicion in their red depths.
"Afternoon," Rhigor said quietly. "This's a pretty garden. You spend a lotta time here?"
"You can see me. But you aren't a ghost."
"I'm more'f one than I look, darlin'."
"But you can touch things. And talk." When Rhigor nodded, her hungry gaze struck the watering can.
"I'd like t'ask you some questions, miss, if that's all right."
"Will you do something for me first?"
Rhigor nodded. "Somethin' t'do with that can?"
The Lenny knotted and unknotted her wingtips, careesing every knuckle and joint in anxious darts of feather. "Pour out the water. Carefully. On the stones."
Rhigor did as he was asked. Weeds had started to grip the watering can's base. A gush of putrid water sloshed out of the bucket when Rhigor tipped it over, leaving something inside to rattle against the metal sides. Rhigor fished out a necklace with a tiny key.
"Yours?" he asked the Lenny, looking up.
"Yes. No. It should be my daughter's now." The Lenny looked toward the palace. "She's almost thirteen. Speckled. She'll be at the party tonight...are you going to the party?" For the first time, she seemed to notice more of Rhigor then his solidity, and her beak curved with a frown.
"Apparently they'll let anyone in," Rhigor said. "But I'll see to it your girl gets this. Although...er...is there a fountain somewhere you could - "
The Lenny's talons clicked against the cobblestones, and she waved a wing over the necklace. When the ectoplasm trail of her feathers vanished, Rhigor was left with a sparkling clean pendant in his paw. Some ghosts had unusual tricks.
The Lenny suddenly looked up and past Rhigor, her eyes going wide. Rhigor spun around as King Altador called out - apparently to the brown Lupe, judging by his gaze. Rhigor hoped he hadn't seen what would have looked like the ultimate in one-sided conversations.
"Uh...h'llo there. Your Highness." He tipped his hat slightly, careful not to jar his sunglasses. Throwing the key over his neck to join the twenty-six other silver chains, the Lupe padded toward the king and said, "Actually, I haven't found mucha anything in the way'f answers. You've got a witch who brought down a whole continent wanderin' around with a princess - I guess if you say she's your daughter, she is one - and nobody's bothered explainin' why she's wanderin' around free as a Vullard.
"I keep bein' told there's some story to it, but nobody seems real eager to explain. Makes me start wonderin' how good this story is." His eyes narrowed even though the gesture would be lost behind the dark glasses.
((Sorry for length.))

((Tiger, Saeryennan told her father that Rhig was ghost hunter. Unless Rhig's in his ghost form.))
"Stop!" Xandra cried to Sirocco and the others. "That's Caylin. If she's here to speak to the King, then something's happened." The look on her face changed to genuine worry. What could have happened? Unless...
No. No. She couldn't have escaped. If she had, Xandra was not going to let her do anything to the land or its people.
"Saeryennan!" She called her niece over. "Do you know where your father is?"
"He's probably looking for that Lupe," she replied. "Caylin, I'll help you look for him."
They were leaving, when suddenly a piercing cry broke the music.
"Look! Look at Schala!"
Mima pointed to her sister, who, in the midst of her dance with the ghostly Xweetok, seemed to fading in and out. She didn't appear to notice. A wide smile was on the Cybunny's face.
Xandra turned. Oh no! This was not good.
"Stay here. I'll see what I can do," she said as she headed for the dancing pair.
The King smiled at Rhigor.
"I understand your feelings," he said. "Even I didn't trust Alyxandra after my wife invited her to stay at the palace, until she told me everything. "Xandra was kidnapped from her home at the age of eleven, by a horrible, tyrannical Faerie who used to rule this land. Her name was Katriana, and she was a Fire Faerie who had great power. She forced Xandra to aid in her tyranny by possessing her mind. This went on for five years until I arrived at the kingdom and brought down the evil Faerie's tyranny. "My wife, Kalara, is her older sister. Xandra, although she still does not trust many Faeries, has tried her best to redeem herself."
Just then, Saeryennan opened the door, with Caylin by her side.
"My dear Saeryennan! Caylin!" he cried out. "What has happened?"

((Whoops, missed typing in 'hunter' there, sorry ^^; Rhig didn't tell Sae he was a ghost hunter, either, but don't worry about it - I just wanted to throw out the explanation I was gonna go with in case it came up again. ))

"Ah, lady Schala, it's been so long since I've had a good time like this." Manfred confessed in a surprisingly calm tone, "You see, I am starting to remember a few things. I have to admit to you this hole situation is somewhat nostalgic! It's good to feel like remembering!"
"You want to remember? Ah yes, a room filled with unfamiliar faces, the long glass windows suddenly shattering, the loud music breaking into terrified screams, an ocean of tendrils finding it's way through..." something whispered, but this time it wasn't in Manfred's head, it was hissing right beside him! "Quickly taking hold of the guests (your guests, let's not forget that, it's important), embracing your boots and dragging you outside by your cape - this is when my favorite part comes, pay attention now - I remember clearly when it embraced your neck and choked your very last breath, sword in hand and everything. That is one of my sweetest memories, my old friend."
The xweetok froze right where he was, holding Schala's hand tightly with the most serious gaze printed on his face. He looked to his left, but there was absolutely nothing unusual there, all he saw was lady Xandra coming their way and Schala's stare.
"What? Don't stop now, I did not meant to interrupt such a lovely moment. Maybe I did, a little." It laughed, "It was quite sickening, you're dead and she is a school girl, I am doing you a favor by stopping this now. But you know what? I'll do you an even better favor, why don't you two be dead together? All of you? All of us? That's what my lady promised me, go tell that to Xandra, she'd like to know. Tell us we're coming. Tell us we're having a party of our own. I can't wait to meet your so called friends, I hope they put a better fight than your last ones. "
Manfred blinked a few times before he let go of the cybunny's hands. He turned around and rushed past Xandra, simply whispering "She's here." and stormed away. For a moment he felt like a real Baron again, as if he was wearing his red cape and heavy boots, but that quickly faded away and he was, once again, just a ghost.
