I haven't quite decided yet if I want to type the ideas swimming around in my head down or if I should be retyping some of my earlier stories (which I wrote while in high school) or even try to complete some of my half finished stories. I still have half a month left to decide, so I still have some time.
Half Finished Sort of zombie apocalypse (involving voodoo) A sinister plot involving stage magic Medusa's revenge Revival of an Egyptian pharaoh Capturing a mad scientist who's been elusive
Story Ideas A plot loosely based off of Pokemon Mystery Dungeons: Explorers game series (it's not a fanfic of said idea) The return of an old foe from my previous story series (the ones that I'm planning to rewrite, I hope)

Well, I've made up my mind on what to do for NaNo and that's to essentially finish up the stories that I have in progress. I know it's cheating, but technically, I've done that twice now instead of the usual 50K. To make things even better, I'm going to work on the stage magic one and the zombie apocalypse as a back up if I'm done my first one early.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the boxes used for these types of stage magic are actually bigger on the inside than what they appear, thanks to hidden compartments?

Ruby Moon (Ruby Champagne)-the leader of the Paranormal Investigators.
Amber Knight- the 'brawn' of the group, although she can switch to the 'brains' if the needs changes/arises. She is taken out of commission early in the story, but returns later on and provides some vital insights into the case.
River Park-Frost- the 'brains' of the group. Also the medic. This story focuses a bit on her as part of her past plays into the plot when Amber provides the vital insights.
Nova 'Sunny' Williams- the newcomer to the team as well as River's childhood friend. Part of her past (and no, it has nothing to do with skeletons in the closet, but something that she had witnessed) is what drives the plot.
If you're wondering why some of the names seem familiar, please check my 2010 NaNo thread.

Excerpts from the completed chapters, along with the chapter that I'm currently working on: “Several years ago, there was a robbery at the castle. Roughly three quarter million dollars worth of jewellery was stolen from right under our noses and it ended up costing one of the guards his job because he was on duty when they were stolen.” “So how was it stolen?” I inquired.
“It was some sort of disappearing trick, nothing fancy, but I haven’t been able to figure out how he was able to pull that off with a whole bunch of witnesses, myself included, watching the entire scene and how it was set up.”
As soon as he returned with the copies of the files, each neatly packaged into a plain, brown envelope, I began to wonder if the OSPD would have the rest of the cases. Before I departed for Oceania, I took a quick peek at the kidnapping case to see what I was dealing with. I quickly noted that one of the details in the case mentioned some strong magic that caused animals to flee or cower in fear within a 100 metre radius as I did note the eerie silence out in the park, but had quickly dismissed as being insignificant. As soon as the clone released him, he summoned the people that were supposed to be working out front and left the base. River went to each one of them and checked to see if they were all right before calling for some backup to wheel them into the infirmary as each one of them were alive, but in a coma. I suspected the chancellor used some sort of magic spell to do this to them, so I was glad that River and I were there as he could have done the same thing to Nova. “Yeah, there were far too many times where the chancellor or one of his ‘friends’ would try to interfere with the cases in some form or another, usually by resorting to low tactics such as eavesdropping, River. It’s how he managed to know about Morgan’s case regarding the kidnapping,” Stella replied.
“So that means she was threatened by him at one point,” I replied. She nodded.
“Once they take over one of the cities, they will want to rule it with an iron fist for a long time, which is what they were probably gunning for. That’s where the kidnappings and theft come into play. If you want to become a legitimate contender for the throne, you need to prove it somehow. Showing that you have a lot of wealth accumulated is a good way and if the person dies, they have a replacement. Now, let me ask you this. When you and your family were at the four cities serving as advisors, who do you think was the most powerful of the four queens?” She replied that it was River’s mother, Nadia, before something dawned on her. I nodded as soon as she figured out the reason why River’s mother was targeted first.

“What about using me as a decoy, or more specifically, my clones? The chancellor doesn’t know that I can also create clones of other people and I’ve known Nova for many years now, despite the lack of communication between us during the years that I was River Park, so it’s easy for me to imitate her. My clones are not just for show,” River replied.
Yeah, so I've fallen behind in terms of getting this story completed, but even if I don't make my self imposed goal, I'm still proud of what I had accomplished.
