So... this year will be my fourth NaNo and absolutely not surprising, it will be another gay romance. Kitsch to its finest, including a lot of Christmas stuff. All Andrew wants a certain Saturday afternoon in late fall is a cup of coffee in his favourite café. But thanks to Garrett his plans are utterly spoiled. Because Garrett needs an escort for a high-society charity event and as newly divorced and utterly disillusioned man decides to advertise and hold a casting to find said escort at Andrew's favourite café. At the end of the day however Andrew is the only one fulfilling most requirements for the escort and Garrett decides to ask Andrew even though he was looking for a female escort and Andrew was not really participating in the casting. While Andrew is well aware of Garrett's past - yellow press can be really informative at times - Garrett has yet to discover who Andrew is, which includes Andrew's being gay, his bigoted politician of a brother and his socialite sister. Welcome to a turbulent Christmas season!

It's surprising... I had this idea which is actually based on an P&P-Fanfiction-idea, which never got past the initial scene, so I turned the characters into OCs, changed gender of one of the characters and worked on turning it into a worthwhile plot, and I'm surprised how well it works. As of now I have had Andrew and Garrett meet at the café thanks to the ill-fated casting of Garrett, where at the Andrew agreed to be Garrett's escort for the evening. At the social gathering they freaked out Andrew's bigoted brother and had a good evening. Now I had Garrett's old friends from university turn up. The friends are called PCP, but of course they never took drugs. However, what else would you call three crazy chemistry students who go by the names Philip, Charles and Prakash? Turns out that Prakash is about to marry and so the old friends get together for a stag night at a salsa club (where Garrett by chance will meet Andrew again). After this I'll have a Hindu wedding coming up, which Garrett has to attend. He'll ask Andrew to accompany him, but as I don't know how well that would go (and am a) currently to lazy to research it and b) don't want to write about hostilities), Andrew will have other things to do on that Saturday, namely accompany his nieces and nephews along with the au-pair to the winter wonderland at hyde park (which I'll have to research, but that was a given in any case). So I'll get to write lot's of what's-apps-smartphone-messages to cover this in my novel.

Today I realized that I had completely forgotten to create a confidant for Garrett Crady. But since he'll have to come to terms with the fact that he might actually like Andrew the gay way, he'll need a confidante. So first of all I decided that Garrett needs a cat. Turns out it'll be a tomcat called Mercutio. Next I contacted my reliable friend and long-distance muse over instant messanger and together with her I found that confidant. It'll be the cantine chef of Garrett's company, a cook named Robert MacPhee (also fulfilling the part of the wise guy from the kitchen).

I did it! Today I wrote and finished the most difficult scene of all: The kissing and sorting out feelings scene! I'm so relieved to be done with that. Now I only need to sort out the sub-plot problem and have them riding into the sunset and the happily ever after

Ha, my story now actually has a much better title than the one used so far (which was only working title. When the story goes online, it'll be called 'Twelve days in December', since it turns out that everything in this story will happen on twelve days in December. I thought my story would start in November, but since I mention a concert (which comes with an actual date), I could date back all other scenes and found that the story starts exactly on 1st of December
