As you stroll among the houses lining the street, and oddity piques your interest - a forest, seemingly out of place, with a single path leading from the street into the crowd of trees. You step onto the gravel pathway, and almost immediately, jack o'lanterns light up in the trees. You also notice a sign.["Kurayami Castle 'Come in for candy' "] Now then, normally you would never obey such a shady there's candy to be had! Onward! Abandoning your natural common sense, you walk through the forest, using the gravel path beneath your feet and the lights above you to find your way.
Alas, you make it to the end of the forest, and there is quite the sight before you. A massive piece of architecture sits there, seemingly untouched by present civilization. Furtherly is a word now odd, the moon seems to sit atop the castle, glowing dark red. You take a few more steps forward before stopping, as the draw bridge to the large moat is up - or, if you're a klutz, you fall into the moat.
To you're right, you see a wooden pole with a silver bell hanging from it. Examining the bell you see an engraving on it's edge: "RING TO ENTER". Not wanting to give up now, you ring the bell and the drawbridge lowers, revealing a well dressed young man, donning a suit with a slightly loose tie around his neck. However, his most prominent feature would be his right golden eye and his left blue eye, which both seem to sparkle in the crimson light of the moon.
You then decide what to do next.

"Uh, hello," you say nervously to the young man, beginning to get second thoughts. "Sorry I'm...all wet. The creatures in your moat were not entirely friendly. I, uh, heard there was candy to be had? Am I at the right place?"
You glance around the area, looking for escape routes--just in case this excursion takes a turn for the worst.

"The right place, my dear?"
He smiles at you, his head tilted slightly to the side.
"But of course~ Welcome, to the Kurayami Kingdom~! This is a very rare night you see," he begins to explain, walking slowly towards you as he does, "as the Kingdom is only present 'here' in this place every decade." He shrugs as he arrives before you. "And even then, we are only truly here on Halloween."
You continue to look about as he explains, still panicking slightly - likely due to a combination of the offsetting environment and the fact that you are currently soaked to the bone - and realize that from where you are, there are two places to go; back into the forest, or into the castle.
"You poor, poor girl - I never intended for you to fall into the moat... please, allow me to at least provide you something warm to drink in the meanwhile."
You begin to ponder what 'in the meanwhile' could mean, but he answers your question before you even have it, "You see, I wish I could give you the sweets that you have come for, but our cooks are still preparing it. So please," he steps to the side, and makes a welcoming gesture towards the castle entrance, "come inside and enjoy a hot beverage while you wait."

A small star named Nova floats up to the man, an empty bag in hand. "Uh, er, ah... trick or treat?"

Although his eyes widen at the sudden appearance of a star before him, he quickly regains his composure and addresses the Star before him in a sing-song voice, which he has decided to call Nova for reasons unknown.
"Twinkle twinkle, Little Star, There is Candy, near and far~ If you have the time to wait, the boon you get will be great~ As there's candy being made, that needs no purchase, sale, or trade~ So if you would care for tea, come along and follow me~ Twinkle twinkle, Little Star, There is Candy, near and far~"
He gestures once again, offering entrance into the castle, as well as a hot beverage.

I walk up to the man without any fear, adjusting the wing covers on my wings casually. "Trick or treat! I should warn you, even though I am being the Big Good this year, I still have pretty interesting tricks."

"My!" He smirks as he looks at the trio before him, "A lost girl, a Star, and an Equestrian Princess? How lucky, how interesting!" He hops about the scene, giddy with anticipation, or he would, if he were someone else.
Instead, he regards the princess, "How are you, Princess? I presume you are out and about to see how the common-foal participate in Halloween?" Without waiting for an answer, though, he spins once, gazing dreamily into the night sky. "How very humbling, very well for yourself! I praise you, Princess, for your efforts to make connections with your Kingdom, and it seems..." He turns back to the small group that seems to be forming on the drawbridge as he continues his speech, "...our Kingdom as well~! Now then, in sense of common interest, I would like to invite you all for tea, coffee, or hot chocolate even while we wait for the mo- candy to be made~"

Despite better judgment (which was left at the back end of the drawbridge), and the fact that, in a reality in which physics do not apply, all hot drinks offered by well-dressed strangers are either poison or strange potions, Coaster gladly enters with the rest of the bridge throng, escaping notice (or so he thinks).

I make no distinction between the 'common people', as you call them, and myself. Besides, a kingdom whose ruler is distant might as well be a kingdom in ruins. That said, I would quite enjoy some tea, if you have any. Despite it being a holiday, I don't mind discussing some politics with you over a hot drink.

The dark-blue clad necromancer looks up at the man, willing herself to turn away from the wonderful scenery around her.
"Hello, sir," GLQ commented. "I can't help but overhear that you don't quite have treats yet, but that they're coming? Must be spectacular. What kind is it, or is it a surprise?"
The necromancer then returns to glancing around the castle.

As he leads the group inside the castle, the drawbridge ominously closes behind them. "To keep the cold out," he explains. Opening a gold gilded solid oak door, he ushers each person inside.
The room he has 'herded' everyone into is a wonderful lounge type area, with red velvet chairs and couches, gold trimmed glass tables, and a beautiful purple wallpaper which leads to a magnificent mosaic of the crimson moon. At least, you think it's a mosaiDid the clouds just move?
After checking what each person wanted, he moves to exit the room to get the beverages. He stops himself however, and looks directly at GLQ. "They are quite spectacular indeed. They require one's present and future to be made, and much effort and earnest, however," he clicks his tongue as he makes rolling motion with his hand, "however, such - how to say? - 'collateral' is a small price to pay for such wonderful treats. Now, if you'd excuse me but a moment..."
He promptly exits the room, checklist in hand of each person's individual drink choice - from a simple hot chocolate to a vanilla latte with foam, chocolate drizzle and sprinkles, carefully assembled at a prime temperature and crafted with the finesse of Picasso every time. Or a hot chocolate, that works too.

"Hello! Am I too late?" says a girl, coming in shyly. "Trick or treat!"

The lost, wet girl huddles by the fireplace, slowly drying off. She gladly accepts the white chocolate cocoa offered and takes a sip.
"Wow, this is perfect! It's to die for!" Pausing, she backtracks. "Oh, um, bad choice of words?"

He returns, carrying a tray of drinks. He pauses a moment, looking at Lizica.
"How did you..? Oh well," he shrugs off his uneasyness and begins to hand out the drinks. Upon reaching the shy girl - the newcomer - he smiles, "Too late? Of course not. The end is the end, and the end has not ended yet, you see."
Suddenly, three loud ticks sound, presumably through out the entire castle, followed by a bell. "Ah! There we are! Everyone, follow me if you please," he says as he walks through the same door he got the drinks from.
