(Continued)
The chairs at the gate area were anything but comfortable, so I was shifting between sitting with eyes closed, and walking around.
For about two hours I did this pattern, until finally the gate opened, and the final flight of Leoness was ahead!
For the third time I got a seat by the window, in this über small plane! There were only three seats per row, so it was pretty intense. I was happy that I didn’t suffer from claustrophobia! Continental Airlines, was the name.
For a second, I got a sudden shock. Because there are two airports called Rochester – and the other one is nowhere NEAR New York
But it was all okay; when the captain said that we were going to Rochester, NY x)
Some more sky pictures, just before landing in Rochester. Amazing…
www.rockmobilen.dk/strife/05.jpgwww.rockmobilen.dk/strife/06.jpgIt was raining when we broke down through the clouds, and I could see the roads, houses and cars below me. Just for kicks, I tried looking for a yellow jeep, since I knew that Strife and his dad would arrive in that. But, I didn’t spot one.
After a perfect landing, I was anxious to get out of this plane. My nerves started to get to me, and I was worrying about how I would react once I spotted him and his dad.
Out of the plane, and I raced off to claim my baggage. It would seem that the hall where the baggage came out was the same hall where you meet and greet people. So while I waited for the baggage to come out, I looked around for Strife and his dad.
Finally it came out, and I grabbed it hastily. Where to go now? I wouldn’t want to miss them. So I started strolling around in the big hall. In the middle, there were two cars standing on display (what is it with these car competitions? There friggin everywhere xD ). When I passed the second one, I looked straight, and then my eyes met this dark-haired guy coming towards me, along with another man. I was wearing my trademark cap, and I was the only one in the area at that moment, so I was easy to spot. But Strife was so polite, and asked me if I was Leoness ^_^
I let my baggage stand on the ground, and gave him a somewhat short hug. He seemed nervous too, so I didn’t want to squeeze him with a big, lion hug. His father got a hug too, and he seemed excited and happy. He asked me about the flight, and I brifley told about my somewhat troublesome journey. But it was okay now. I had no jetlag, and despite my lack of sleep for over 20 hours, I didn’t feel tired at all!
It was so warm outside, and because I had sandals on, my feet got soaked for stepping in all the puddles, but the rain was warm too, and I just enjoyed this new sensation ^___^
We went for the jeep. Strife didn’t say much, and if it hadn’t been for his dad and all his questions, neither would I have had ^^;
The ride to Strife’s house took a little over an hour, and on the way I just sat there, unable to believe that I was in America, only a few inches from Strife. It was like this surreal dream, that I was about to wake up from any minute. But it was real. So real!
On the way, we talked about American and Danish similarities and differences. I was kinda nervous about my English and my accent. But once I got going, it all seemed so natural to me. I even started to think in English xD
So we arrived at the house. A nice home, surrounded by farmlands, and it all seemed so familiar, or so to speak.
We went inside, and I got greeted by Strife’s dog, Rocky. A happy, fluffy, little thing ^_^
Strife helped me with my baggage and let me upstairs to pick a room. I picked the one we had talked about over MSN, because the other one was his room, and the third one was his sister’s. Even though she wouldn’t be spending the night there while I was there, I just didn’t feel comfortable with ‘taking’ her room. After that, I got the grand tour of the house.
And then, Strife and I went upstairs….
