Guys, maybe let Sae be? She's trying to come to terms and accept this as well, using her own terms and way of expressing what this feels to her (just like we don't have the exactness of what it must feel to Leo/Strife). Please just unite under the expressed sadness and not get hung up on the technicalities and communication specifics.
Strife, Leo... I don't really know what to say. Been mulling over words all day, but I have none. So I'll say simply... Best to you both, and double-blessings to your daughter.

Gav - it's not private, so I don't mind. Cookie will stay here with me. Her going to the US with her father is only going to make things worse. In the US he would have to make money really fast to be able to make ends meet. But here she can get everything she needs, without me pulling up my wallet very often. So for her sake, it's better that she stays here. Besides, as long as she is this young, being with her mother -is- the best option... seen from a developmental and psychological point of view. Most kids don't benefit actively from their father until they are a little older.
That's not to say that she hasn't bonded with him. I have no doubt in my mind that she loves Strife very much. But the fact that she is still very young is probably going to make this situation a lot easier than if she had been... say... 5 or older. She can probably feel that something is up, but she has no idea what's going on.
A flying, purple elephant could go by, and she wouldn't stop to wonder. Same with this situation.
And given that I am a social educator, I have faith in my abilities to take care of her alone.
It's going to be alright. It'll be tough for a while... especially to see him leave. But in the long run, it will be for the best. We'll stay in touch through Skype, and visit each other as friends as often as money will allow us to. No matter what, he will still be Cookie's father and his family will be hers.

My PM box will always be open for further inquiries. But now it's time to put this thread where it belongs: among the good memories that shouldn't be allowed to fade away. Because it -was- a good story, and an experience that made me that much richer, personality wise.

So.
Things are falling into place now.
Strife and I still love each other.
It became clear to use after we had been separated for a while.
It was what we both needed though. I'm doing a lot better with my depression and Strife has had time to find himself and his purpose.
So, come December 2. we'll be together again.
For now, we'll celebrate today... August 18. as our 5th wedding anniversary. <3 <3 <3
I love you, Strife.
Now and for always. My spaceknight.
