Team Squad Force 500!

Yeah, we probably need to get on these. ^^; I finished my sketching, and inked my balloons and panel borders, but I've got 16 panels that still need inking. Hahahaha.

I guess whichever one of us finishes first will need to make the thumbnail icons. X3

Oh ho ho maaan, this is why I don't do massive 16-panel comics; getting it down to 200k really brutalized it. (Putting a halftone was out of the question, I think I nearly broke 1.5 megs when I did that) And this is with a color palette of only 8 colors! XD;;;; Whew.

Anyway, I've got mine all saved and optimized and stuff, so I guess I'll draw up some thumbnails for everyone? :3 I figure I'll just use our original ones as the starting point, and either add Joey to the shadow, or just take out the silhouette all together... I dunno, we'll see. :3

That's a cute idea, PFA, but since the regular icon just had their silhouettes, I'm not sure taping Joey's in would read very easily. :3

Oh, but I've got some icons here. I could still change it if it doesn't read well enough or something. :3

Ooh, they look awesome. And you've got a great range of colour combos, I wasn't sure which one to dibs But if it's fine with you, I'd like to dibs the one that's got the blue-green background and letters and a red-orange shield.

And regarding your comic filesize: whoaa, that sounds huge, how could it get like that...? I thought if you only had a few colours then the gif format would make it all pretty small. But I guess I haven't tried optimising large comics as gifs in a while.

*goes back and retries saving a long comic as a gif* Ooohaaarrggh that is painful. I actually think the fuzzy yucky jpeg compression works better when the file gets too big. If only superhero print comics were all done in pixelart, then I could have referenced that style to save compression. xD

XD I'm going to hold of on submitting for right now, but I think we should try to get them all in by this weekend if not later today.

Ohmigosh, Abra, that looks totally epic. That first panel just screams comic book! (Well, and it also literally screams, lol)

And yeah, that seems like a fine format to continue to submit in. :3

I have my comic ready to submit too, I wasn't sure if we all wanted to try to submit these around the same time.

Ohcrap ok I'll try to get my comic done by this weekend. It's a holiday weekend in Australia so it should get me enough time. Once I get this done I won't have to worry no mores.

My comic's title will be "Team Squad Force: Movie Night!", but I haven't thought of what the side comment should be.

I think it might be wisest to submit them when we finish, JUUUST to be safe... While it's nice having all of the comics in the same general area, it might be a nice surprise for avid readers to scroll down further and find a FOURTH. XD

I'm okay with waiting if you'd guys prefer, though.

Well, I don't think we ever submitted them all together in previous years, but Droplet tended to group them together anyway. (Oddly enough, both years it went "TSF, TSF, random other comic, TSF")

So feel free to submit any time.

GUYS I AM HERE. Geezus, I am so sorry! I was stranded this week with no internet access/drawing supplies/ time (I am really not exaggerating- I actually got a job! 8D). But I am finishing this this weekend no if, ands, or buts. Especially no butts. Heh heh.

Anyway, I finished inking mine already. I just need to color and add text...my least favorite parts. -_-; It'll be done by tomorrow, sweartogod!

Komori, I did an actual gasp when I saw the icon- they are AMAZING. Much spiffier than I could have ever imagined! I call dibs on because it is pink and suddenly I care about being girly. =|

Also, while I'm raving AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH ABRA WHY YOU SO GOOD. You set the bar so high! Thanks a lot. :<

As always, the 200k limit did me in. I hate how bad the quality is. :< Oh well. Not my best work (I seriously rushed some of the lines), but at least it's done.

Speaking of which, when are we sending these in? Did we decide? If we send them in at different times, we can always put a note to Droplet asking if they could be placed together (instead of that bizarre TSF, TSF, other, TSF pattern xD).

Btw, mine will be named "Team Squad Force: Feelin' the Heat!" That's cheesey enough, right? 8)

Wow, Komori, that comic was huge! xD But it's great that even with 8 colours I think, you made it look so colourful and vibrant. And I love what happened to the bad guy at the end.
