I want to try NaNo again this year but I don't have much of a plot idea, so my current plan is to just make the entire thing up as I go, taking inspiration/ideas from interesting dares or other random things that sound fun. So we'll see how that goes.
Right now I'm working on character names based on the ICAO Alphabet (based on Terra's dare from the dares board - thanks, Terra!).

Goals: ridiculousness. Check.
Not only are my characters named off the ICAO Alphabet, but their names are alliterative. >.> Because at this point, really, why not?
I have the inklings of plot ideas starting to show themselves. Right now it's something along the lines of
"One morning, wealthy womanizer Victon Von Vierre is found dead under very suspicious circumstances. Police Detective Alexander Alpha is on the case, but soon discovers that the circumstances surrounding Von Vierre's death are much stranger than the simple motives of greed or jealousy he was expecting. And Von Vierre isn't the only one keeping secrets..."
Note that I know absolutely nothing about writing detective-y type stories. xP

Detective story in which everyone has an alliterative ICOA Alphabet inspired name? I like this already.

If you're still going with that idea - you could have so much fun of that. xD It'd be brilliant to have a srsface grim detective scene and have people discussing things grimly but in these ridiculous tongue-twister alliterative sentences. ("Victon Von Vierre lost his life." "He was a womaniser! His wife wasn't wicked for wanting" ... um, no, those aren't tongue-twisty at all. Good thing I'm not writing this story. BUT YOU GET THE GIST.)
