She kept running until she had passed it, and started down the road she’d never taken that led, in the short term, to Charlesberg, and in the long term, to everywhere else that wasn’t the ruins of Fellis.

Well, finished with the most depressing part of probably the most depressing scene I've ever written...

It's a different character, and I didn't realize the irony until I started writing the scene with this Nathan in it. XD Either way, add this on top of the fact that I occasionally picture this novel as a movie, and hilarity ensues

In last sentence news,

The parchment had already had someone else's etchings of what was likely counting down days until either they escaped or died, but there was plenty of space left on the rest of the parchment, and it was all he had. He might as well make the most of it, he had decided.

Technically two sentences, but um. That's a little morbid there, character.
